### 3/5 — It’s not worth it/be careful

*2023-03-10*

I say be careful because even if you “bind” your account you still can lose it for no reason. Played the game for a few days & today when I go to log in I noticed it starting a new game for some reason. Didn’t think much of it just re launch the game & log in with my Game Center that I use for a few games & it’s starting a new game even though I went into the settings to bind it to my Game Center account, even got the 100 in game points for it. So I lost everything including money spent for in game purchases.

That said, it’s really short, doesn’t play like a real Rockman game, steep difficulty curve for no reason, the aiming is one of the most annoying/aggravating parts.

Only nice thing I really can say is it has cute art, that’s pretty much it.

### 4/5 — Everything is fine, except no controller support

*2023-02-17, version 5.0*

So I’ve played this game for a little bit. I see that the gameplay is fine. The graphics are fine. The story is fine and the micro transaction stuff is fine.

I don’t like is how it has no controller support even know most of all the other games I do play the Grandtheft auto series which came out like seven something years ago on mobile phones supports controllers except for this game, including capcoms relaunch of the MegaMan X game that was originally taken down which also doesn’t support controllers.

I use a backbone controller for most my games and so far all the GTA games work with controllers, steam link works awesome with controllers, Apple Arcade works with controllers, Microsoft X cloud works with controllers and PS now works with controllers except for this game, so I just hope in the future that they do add it because everyone else has done it.

### 3/5 — Needs customer service number

*2023-01-17, version 5.0*

I absolutely love the megaman series and playing this game bring back a lot of nostalgia. However, I was playing the game and ended up buy the battle pass so I could get more of the rewards but then when I tried to log back in, it’s like all of my data is gone and I’m starting from square one!! I’ve tried to reach out to costumer support through email but I haven’t received word about anything. I do wish for this game to succeed but for login issues such as this we need to talk to someone to help us retrieve our accounts!! Hoping they’ll fix the problem

### 4/5 — Amazing game, but it’s a grind game

*2022-10-27, version 4.1*

Love the game mechanics. You can tell the the developers gave special attention to pay homage to the Rockman | Megaman legacy. To offer feedback to make the game better, please make resource cultivation less restrictive. Character/weapon/chip/etc development is at the core of this game and to do this effectively, you must buy-in. Which I understand, but the more value should be added to those who want to. At times I find paid EM vs regular EM confusing and limiting. The quotas to pull from capsules are too high to be enjoyable. For instance, your current Dark Codes event gives us 30 free every day OR 300 for 1000 EM. Pay $22+(32*19)=$763 or grind it. We need 6000 DC for 40 memory of our choosing. That’s maybe one rank up. Eliminate paid EM, be less restrictive. It’s a game after all.

PVP matchmaking could use some adjustments. If it would require a paid subscription to maintain servers to do so, I’d be willing, but oftentimes I don’t find a suitable matchup. They’re either way out of my league/OP or there are no players at all. No game modes, events, or co-op play. Jus deathmatch.

### 3/5 — Used to be better.

*2022-10-12, version 4.1*

I picked up this game because I wanted a classic Mega Man experience. For the most part, I got it. The levels range from the run and gun blast, to that Mega Man level of mind numbing, “you want me to do what, how?”. The original additions and glitches are all there, including the random enemies that phase through walls with no explanation. At first this was frustrating, but all part of the experience. I’ll even bite on the excessive ramp in difficulty on later levels, that was always part of the brand Mega Man.
What is not part of the experience is the gatcha. It used to be fun, getting random characters, and getting better ones later, and even better chances if you fork over a reasonable amount of real life money. Not that you needed to. I have several that I rely on, and they did well.
Now however, you can barely get any new decent non-joke characters, and the RNG gatcha makes it More Difficult to get good characters, and seems to thrive to penalize the payer more. The new packs are not reasonable at all, especially with the penalizing RNG, which makes the chances of getting good characters way too low.

### 4/5 — Backbone/controller support

*2022-08-31, version 4.0*

This game DOES work with controllers (including the Backbone), but it isn’t mapped by default. You need to set up your controls to make it work.

That said, because it doesn’t work natively (and why not?), it doesn’t get the “compatible with controllers” logo on the app, nor the ability for it to be added as a playable app with Backbone. That’s a huge miss.

The game’s fine. I just wish the devs would stop moving things around or making users click through a bunch of dumb stuff every day. I get it - it’s gatcha - but gameplay is maybe 20% of this game.

### 4/5 — Good game but somethings wrong

*2022-08-04, version 4.0*

First of all I love the game I love the nostalgia behind it but there’s a problem a little bit later after I’ve played through The game for a while now every time I go to the starting screen table so I would say that the games data has been updated but there is nothing showing that the game itself has been updated and it is constantly making me have to come back to the title screen even though I was already there it is constantly sending them almost like spam and not allowing me to get in the game again but besides that it is still an amazing game I hope so this helps you guys make your game better

### 3/5 — fun for a while…

*2022-06-19, version 3.2*

first impressions of the game were pretty good! it’s nostalgia-bait, sure, but i still think it’s really fun to go through these basic levels and collect cool mega man characters, especially if you’re a fan of the series. the characters’ unique abilities are neat incentives to collect more and if you have an attachment to the characters it’s satisfying to pull them! but whenever i would do a 10-pull i’d usually just get weapons (which were almost always duplicates or just bad) and when i got a character they’d either just be super basic or duplicates.
on top of that, progressing in this game slows to a crawl after a while. i was able to beat a few story missions per day but after some time the required power level to survive stages skyrockets and you need to grind. you also get way less of the free gems after you need to use to gamble for new characters to the point where i’d only get to do a 10-pull every 2 or 3 weeks.
i guess if the seasonal event missions and online modes keep you going you’d love this game but in single player offerings dry up in only a few weeks unless you’re willing to fork over tons of real money.

### 4/5 — Amazingly fun, but a couple small issues…

*2022-06-06, version 3.2*

For a MegaMan X (or any MegaMan) fan, this game is a wonderful mix of nostalgia and a fresh way to play a great series. There are two problems that keep grinding on me though;

1) If you swap out of the app for any reason, and swap back in without having closed it completely, all audio will be completely missing until restarting the app. I’ve caused this even accidentally so, so many times, and it’s especially irritating mid-level.

2) The *grind*. A lot of materials are more tedious to farm than they really need to be, which can make getting stronger to continue the story a real chore. I’ve not run out of stamina yet despite having played for almost a week now, but I can imagine that if I did/when I do, it would just be even more annoying and take away from the enjoyment of the game.

While I can enjoy the game and get past these irritations, it’s definitely blemishing what could otherwise be a perfect homage to the X series, and the franchise as a whole. (If nothing else, PLEASE fix the audio bug. I don’t wanna have to keep restarting my game every time I get a text. 😓)

### 4/5 — Its ok but there is a few problems…

*2022-04-20, version 3.1*

This game has fun game play pretty fare gacha luck and great characters! So what’s the problem? Well number 1 Rico won’t shut up ever! I just want to play a level without her stupid high pitch voice screaming at me the lore of this game, Please add a mute button -_- then there is the next problem… the girl characters. They added jiggle physics… WHY DID THEY ADD JIGLE PHYSICS! its honestly super weird. Not to mention there are beach versions for almost every female character! And wedding themed skins, like why the heck would you do that? But for the most part games pretty good. Do recommend

### 5/5 — Straight up mega man

*2022-04-08, version 3.1*

When I saw an ad for this game I did t much care for what it said it was. There’s a lot of games out there that use popular assets to catch the eye and make a quick buck in the in game shops. But not only is this game 100% classic mega man the shop is also very worth while. It also seems that almost all the characters from mega man is available to obtain without spending a dime. This game in one day has already been a guilty pleasure of mine at work and at home. Please support this game for a very long time. And keep up the great work

### 3/5 — Really good and enjoyable but…

*2022-04-01, version 3.1*

My only issue to date and one I’ve had since it first came out (one of the main reasons I didn’t stick with it before) the sound disappears completely when the phone goes into sleep mode or when switching apps.
It’s kind of annoying to have to restart the app every single time this happens. I really appreciate good sound design and especially when it’s from a series I really love from my child hood. (I wanna listen to the music gosh darn it XD)
Yes I does happen in other apps and they seem to have gotten around this problem by adding a sound toggle into settings. Don’t know if that will work here but doesn’t hurt to try.
Running this on an iPhone SE 2nd gen

### 4/5 — Great Game major load issue

*2022-03-28, version 3.1*

Been having constant issue with the app re downloading. I have to delete it and re download the game constantly. It’s random I can play it for a while then go back to it and it says waiting to download. I go to the App Store and it says open but it want open; then I have to re download again. Excellent game. I think it would be even better if you of course added more characters ie: Dr. Wiley in a machine or past robots. Maybe increase the size of the characters on the level stages.

### 2/5 — Jiggle physics?

*2022-01-21, version 3.1*

Pros: stage music and character art Cons: clunky controls, somehow made jiggle physics even more embarrassing than DoA extreme volleyball and they are on ALL the female robots except roll. If only you could disable them. Did 6 ten-pulls (all free) and the best I got was some lady-bot with a whip I’m completely unfamiliar with and her chest is hyper emphasized while moving all over the place and I was like “what am I playing right now? When did this become megaman?” Zero and X are trash tier next to axl (who deserves it at least) and rockman and .exe are also trash tier of course so my options are whip lady or purple bangs fan service lady with extreme oppai hanging out and I’m seriously not here for that. Especially with these clunky controls and typical pay to win gacha meta. The gameplay here is not at all worthy of that sort investment when the MAJORITY of pulls are generic guns and possessed bosoms that won’t stop moving.

### 5/5 — Nostalgia and fun

*2022-01-14, version 3.1*

Recently bought all of the mega man collections and was disappointed that cap on isn’t making them anymore. So this app will likely be the last mega man game we’ll see. The game is fun and builds on the original idea in the first mega man X game. The whole idea of getting stronger as you progress in the game. Lots of fun characters to explore and fighting styles to choose for different gameplay. Controls on the phone are a little weird getting used to but you can tweak the controls to be similar to the OG mega man games. Really cool app and I hope falcon realizes the value in this brand and releases more games. Personally I’d love to play an all new updated mega man legends!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No stars.

*2023-07-01*

Normally I don’t do reviews. But I’m having to give this game 0 stars. Earlier today I logged into my account like I always do. Had all the characters I’ve collected, all the weapons, everything. I go to login again after getting a notification so I could do the event that’s currently running and my game was wiped. Gone.

I lost everything. I don’t even know why or how. I’ve spent some money on this game, not too proud of that, but I find it isn’t too bad to support a game that you enjoy.

Well that becomes a problem when you lose everything. I am seeking to have every cent I’ve spent on this game either refunded to me, or have someone from Nebula Joy or Yunchang help me recover my account. I understand there are risks for this sort of thing. But I truly did not do anything or erase any file on my phone. When I tell you my game data is gone I mean it vanished like a horrible David Copperfield magic show.

### 1/5 — Good game but….

*2023-02-01, version 5.0*

Look, all I can say is this yes, the gameplay is good definitely a nostalgia game a little over the top with power requirements for levels but honestly, it’s almost not worth playing this is definitely a gotcha game on steroids the cost for buying packs is absolutely ridiculous I mean to have pulls on banners, single pull, and 10x pull the single requiring paid EM so you’re always having to top up took a fantastic game and ruined it with micro transactions every now and then you give people free 10 times pulls but the drop rates are so extremely low. It isn’t funny. Here’s an example and I know I’m not alone. I’ve been saving up for a while I had used 9k EM on a banner, not one single S rank weapon or character. It says incredible odds for 10 pull what a joke

### 1/5 — Annoyances

*2022-03-15, version 3.1*

It’s fun for a mobile port of a Megaman game, but there are a few things that are incredibly annoying. One is RiCO, her voice is so high-pitch and she’s CONSTANTLY screaming about random things. I wish there was an option to mute only her. Couple that with the fact that they force you into a tutorial after almost every level of the first 2 or 3 worlds, where RiCO is popping up every two seconds to tell you what to do, and your patience will wear thin very quickly. It’s also annoying how the tutorials for upgrading/enhancing things is out of my control, and I’m forced to spend my actual resources on a tutorial weapon because RiCO is forcing me to upgrade/augment it. If you’re going to make players slog through a convoluted tutorial for upgrading things, the least you could do is provide the materials so the player doesn’t have to waste theirs on a weapon they’re not going to use. Beyond that, it’s patronizing that you need to explain how to do literally every intuitive thing, like a player can’t sit down and figure out how a mobile game works. It’s not like the production model for this game is any different than any other gacha side scroller, so the gratuitous tutoring is just patronizing.

### 1/5 — MegaMan X7 Garbage (if you know, you know)

*2022-01-16, version 3.1*

Auto-fire doesn’t belong in a MegaMan game. MegaMan X is all about the value of going from rags to riches in gaining power to fight for what you believe in. You start from nothing, and the game puts you right into the action with a natural tutorial where you press buttons to learn how to play on your own. There’s a sequelitis video on it; I highly recommend it.

This game starts you right off the bat with double jump, auto-fire, dashing, and an absurd amount of health. An incessant amount of talking from the get-go and it keeps going and going, just like the newer X games. You are spoon fed everything. It took me five minutes to die from the large bee helicopter. I couldn’t play another minute.

I remember this same exact situation from a Contra mobile game where there is a health bar (which, again, has no place in Contra). I have no doubt these are the same people who made this game. Even that game has an online element where you choose a server for whatever reason. For a game that should obviously be offline.

If this is the future of gaming, I want out.

### 1/5 — Terrible game riding on nostalgia

*2021-11-10, version 2.0*

First off, I’ve been playing this game for about a month now, and this is definitely not a mobile game. If you want to play this game, you need to play it on a computer because the mechanics for mobile gaming are trash, which defeats the whole purpose of it being a mobile game. The connection for any match online is terrible every single time, I’ve never seen lag issues like they have, and the gacha mechanism is easily going to be as expensive as any game released by EA. I will be deleting this game immediately. The only thing this game has going for it is the nostalgia factor, which is going to sell big time. My opinion is don’t waste your time or money.

### 1/5 — Can’t even contact support through game app

*2021-08-19, version 1.2*

First off, I hate to give this 1 star but I am at a loss at what to do. I encountered a glitch where most of the friends added in my friend list appear with no name, are level 1, and somehow haven’t logged on in 7 days. The users I have blocked on my blacklist show up like this as well.

So, naturally I tried to contact support to report the bug. I went through Settings > Game > Report a problem, but when I try to tap “Issue wasn’t solved? Tap here to contact support”, it brings up a blank white page that says “Questions and Comments”.

I have tried restarting the app multiple times, but these problems persist.

### 1/5 — Horrible handholding tutorial

*2021-08-18, version 1.2*

There have been design courses written about how the introductory stage of Mega Man X teaches you everything you need to know about it's gameplay without a single word.

I am genuinely shocked that the original X intro stage could be plastered over with handholding text heavy explainers and extra gauges cluttering up the view of the gameplay space. I got to the first helicopter bee and had to quit because the anime voiceover woman wouldn't leave me alone and just let me play.

For something that is held up as a shining example of excellent game design, the team that built this title seemed to look at it and do the exact opposite. I cannot recommend this game to anyone who had even a shred of enjoyment from the original titles.

### 1/5 — A decent title, but Global got shafted.

*2021-08-16, version 1.2*

Played for a bit, and will most likely continue playing despite my rating. I enjoyed the first three areas and am happy with the characters, weapons and gameplay. The one star rating is because compared to the Taiwanese launch, we get essentially nothing. They were able to get at least 2 free multi pulls when it launched for them. We don’t even get one. The banner we have is also not good. Each S-rank has 0.33% chance of being pulled, so your chance of pulling an S-Rank is about 1%. However there is no pity system in place, which is strange considering Taiwanese banners not only have higher rates (about 4%) but also have a pity system. The game has potential, but until the gacha system gets fixed, I’d tell people to steer clear.

### 1/5 — Why is hard mode forces on the player

*2021-08-16, version 1.2*

I was excited for this game when it got announced I was even more excited when this game got announced for testing in a different region each time thinking next time it would be North America. But finally the day came when on the App Store the game could be pre ordered. I did just that and could not wait to have my favorite video game franchise officially as an app.

I noticed in the story mode there was a hard mode but I did not think much of it. But when I got to the 4th work in story mode it said I had to clear the first world (highway) on hard mode and JESUS CHRIST almost every enemy kills you in two hits. I tried to level up my character but the game never game the the objects to do it and is never clear on how to level up your characters.

This was sad to me cause I am a huge fan of the mega man series and I couldn’t wait for this game since 2019 and I am basically soft locked with an impossible hard mode and i am now thinking of deleting it off of my phone

### 2/5 — Mostly for nostalgia

*2022-02-17, version 3.1*

As a big megaman fan this was a god send to have a mobile game to play whenever I want even if it’s a gacha. However this game seems to focus much more on gacha aspects than a megaman game. The platforming and characters brings back so much memory and the models look great. The gameplay however is bare minimum of a megaman game and focus on gacha format such as repetitive event which needs to be repeated until event ends. Stages are short with not much stage design for good gameplay. Not so forgiving gacha pulls. Every event seems to have some form of glitch(literally ran into at least one glitch in each event and developed doesn’t fix them even when known). Online co op is repetitively boring. PvP jitter makes it annoying. Nothing to do in a guild. Story is ok but repetitive scenarios. Overall it’s ok but glitches and all the annoying mobile gacha mechanics are present

### 5/5 — No controller mapping

*2023-08-02*

Hi guys! I hope my rating reaches you guys with all considerations! I use to be an avid player but using my phone’s screen as a controller takes away from screen. fingers get sweaty and it sometimes mess with the touch sense on the screen causes no movement or causing character motion to move “erratic” basically the screen is being touch in multiple spots ie wet spots on the screen and the motive of the fingers on the touch screen. There’s an gaming mapping controller that can help. I have tried using other controllers but none work. I’m actually not sure this new one will work but so far this company has poured a great deal into this phone controller and it shows. So much so I’m actually writing a review to ask that you do what you gotta do and with with this company so gamers like me can truly enjoy this game like it was on a console. The reality is, gaming on the phone is just as popular. Either create a phone gaming controller or let BackBone be the company that does. Buy one, you will want it for yourself as well. “Backbone” is perfect for it! Please talk to that company and let’s get a good button mapping controller in the hands of MEGAMAN fans so they can enjoy this game even more. Thank you! Sincerely Yours MEGAMAN fan since day one!

Remember the controller is called “Backbone”!!!

### 5/5 — Latest Event Dialogue

*2023-02-09, version 5.0*

There’s a scene with Ico with her stating, “You seem a bit dim-witted, so it comes as a surprise you’re pretty clear headed! I was going to say that if you continue to make a scene, I’ll go boil hot water and pour it on your head so that it can wake you up.” (“I’ll go boil hot water and pour it on your head.”) I get it, Ico is nasty and pretentious, but usually, if you want to wake someone up, you usually use cold water.

I was two years old and had climbed on top of a stove and reached for a pot of turkey grease and oil that just came out of the oven. I ended up with third degree burns and have a faded scar on my arm from scratching at my irritating burns at the time. Kids/adolescents are impressionable, and if they think this is normal amongst their friends, I promise you, those kids aren’t going to be on speaking terms anymore.

It’s bad enough that Tik Tok will undo anything that should be normal behavior, but I think there are better ways to get your point across.

### 5/5 — Good Game

*2023-01-07, version 5.0*

It’s a fun game but don’t feel like you have to spend money to get good things on here, you can play the game with no need to spend Real Money on thing. You will eventually get stuff you would pay for eventually no matter what. Bottom line is if you like Megaman or just a good game to play with iPhone (iPad they don’t support controller for some reason) or Steam with your computer(not sure if stream version supports controller) this would be worth checking out. The community on here Cool too…

### 5/5 — A necessary evil

*2022-10-21, version 4.1*

Megaman X Dive is undoubtedly the most practical way to keep things moving in the Mega Man universe in this day in age. But it like most mobile games, is a “gotcha” game. Brimming with micro transactions and a puzzling money system. However, I have found it to be a lot less dependent on spending and more on gameplay to gain any real traction. In my one year of playing I’d honestly say it’s my most played title on iOS and that’s pretty darn great! If you gotta itch for some classic jump n’ shoot this game’s for you!

### 5/5 — A fun way to pass some time.

*2022-08-02, version 4.0*

I’m a huge fan of the X series and while this has its fair share of references to the original series, the gameplay is more inspired by the X games. It may not be a mainline installment, but I do think it’s a nice nod to the series and a fun little game. The amount of characters is a plus s too, as you can play as both heroes and a couple villains too and there’s plenty of weapons from across the series as well. I quite enjoy completing a few levels when I’ve got some time.

### 5/5 — Nostalgia …

I am honestly loving this game.. I have always been a huge mega man fan, and I truly loved the X series. I love the updated graphics, updated sounds, and dashing .. it all brings back awesome memories.. and for a mobile game I honestly thought it would be difficult to play but being that you can customize your control options gives you to opportunity to fine tune how you want to play.. honestly for any mega man fan this is a pretty dope game
