But I cannot get the notification to work. No bubble on the icon either. So, as an early warning device - it hasn't been. Trying to set notifications or location services, this and only this app seems to hide. Everyone that goes over their data usage needs this app. On the downside this app does not keep the correct billing cycle. It keeps changing my billing cycle to the 15th when it's the 17th. There is no way to manually adjust the billing cycle dates which is very frustrating. Fix this Megabytes and I'll give it 5 stars. But otherwise it is a very good app!! ### 3/5 — Nice data monitor *2015-02-14, version 3.3* After a VERY long time and many users alerting them of the iOS 8 bug, both through reviews & support contact, this dev finally fixed the bug a month ago. I haven't had a need to test the bug fix since it was limited to manual usage adjustment, so I'm taking their word that it's fixed. What sets this app apart is the app badge icon that displays your usage without having to open it and the fact that it resets itself automatically at the start of your billing period. Definitely a great tool to have for data usage monitoring. You do not have to turn location services on for this app to work. I don't like devs who keep asking for it to be turned on in this day & age of data mining customers. If you turn it off, the only difference is you have to open the app to get the usage readout & app badge icon display to update instead of it happening automatically. I will not give this app 5 stars right now simply because of the length of time they ignored their users who kept reporting the last bug. Support is vital and they fell short. ### 2/5 — This app does not work on ios8 or iphone 6!! Beware *2014-10-08, version 3.1* I've contacted the developer several times with no reply. I paid for this app, and it does nothing. I can't even add my current usage to update it. If they can't/won't correct this, I'm requesting my 99 cents back. Setup is a breeze, and it wins with me in its simplicity relative to the other apps I've tried. Warning me when I approach MY OWN defined usage limits, would be an improvement, as would the ability to negate those RED SUPERSCRIPTS would be welcome options in future releases. Yes, this app is a good START (only). After contacting the developer via App Support/their website, no response and no update. 3 weeks ago, I would have given 4.5 stars, now, if I could - I'd give 0 if I could. I guess, the dev is happy to take your money and then fail to provide application support. I'll be looking for another data usage tracker and I suggest you do the same. ### 1/5 — Obnoxious *2013-05-08, version 2.0.0* I thought alerts would be helpful, but these are the kinds of alerts that show up *every time* your usage changes. Or even when it doesn't seem to change that much. Making a phone call? Driving somewhere and not even using your phone? Be prepared to be alerted multiple times. ### 2/5 — Used to work *2016-06-13, version 3.3* This app used to work great, but now it does not seem to at all. Darn. It's the only one I've found with a badge, which was really helpful. Previous review: I don't understand the inaccurate negative comments about this app. Maybe the settings are not easy enough to find, but it is easy to change the billing cycle dates. The badge showing remaining data (or used data) does update dynamically without opening the app. From another review, it seems that Location Services must be on for this to work. If the badge is not showing up, go into the settings and turn it on. It seems like the main fault of this app is the lack of instructions, and people not being able to figure how to set it up. I will say I've had a problem since the last update of the app forgetting the settings every month. I liked it so much I put it on my iPad. Although it's an iPhone app, it works just as well on my iPad. In fact, Sigterm wrote an app for iPad, so I use them side by side...but it's badge reading is in percentage used, instead of megabytes. While both apps work pretty much the same, it seems we are more used to understanding data in terms of megabytes used. All in all, I like it.
