## What is Mektebi?

Mektebi is a calm, simple platform for running a mekteb — a Quran school. It brings the class schedule, attendance records and monthly tuition tracking into one place, without unnecessary noise.

Who it's for:
• Students — view your own schedule, report an absence, and see your tuition status
• Teachers (hafiz) — take attendance, manage the class calendar, review tuition by group
• School administrators — groups, invitations, teachers and statistics in one place

What you get:
• A weekly schedule with clear notice of cancellations and rescheduled classes
• Fast attendance tracking — who attended, with excused absences
• Monthly tuition records with a history of changes
• Notifications for schedule changes and tuition reminders

How access works:
Mektebi is made for schools. Your account is provided by your school — an administrator invites you, and you activate it from an email. There is no public sign-up inside the app.

Calm and distraction-free:
No ads, no chat, no social feed. Only what a mekteb truly needs. The tone is calm and respectful.

Privacy:
One school's data is never shared with another. A student can delete their account from within the app at any time.

The app requires an internet connection and an account provided by your school.

### 1.4.0 — 2026-08-31

Tuition waivers and lowered amounts.

• A hafiz or an administrator can now waive a student's tuition for a chosen month — one student, or several at once
• A reason is recorded with the waiver: school break, emergency, financial hardship, or your own note
• When a smaller amount is owed for a month, enter the lowered tuition — paying that amount reads as fully paid, not as partial
• The student no longer sees the month as unpaid: their tuition list shows it as waived, together with the reason
• Waived months are left out of the expected total and receive no reminders

Sign-in stability fixes.

• You stay signed in: the app no longer signs you out on its own — your session lasts until you sign out or change your password
• The app now opens even without an internet connection; data loads as soon as you are back online
• Signing out on the website no longer signs you out of the mobile app (and vice versa)
• More reliable session refresh in the background and on weak connections

New tools for teachers (hafiz) and administrators, and easier tuition tracking.

• Per-student overview: attendance (percentage and number of classes) and tuition payment history in one place
• Teachers can call or message students in their own groups directly from the app
• Tuition: browse by month and record payments up to 12 months in advance
• Bulk action: mark several students as paid for the selected month at once
• Clearer payment history (most recent first, with "Show more"); prepaid future months now appear
• Share the app and rate it from the "More" tab
• Stability: fixed a loading screen that could freeze, plus clearer error messages
