Small reader avatars settle into a warm study, and the gentle sign of a page turning lets you feel that someone else is reading too—without video, a microphone, or chat. It is a place to let the time you spend with books accumulate quietly. In Korea, a trend called "text hip" has been spreading: enjoying the time spent reading, and sharing it. mekuru is a place to share that time — the middle of the reading itself — quietly, with someone else. OWNER (SUBSCRIPTION) The optional Owner plan is an auto-renewing monthly subscription that lets you furnish a room of your own and open it to your companions anytime. Registered accounts can try a one-time 14-day viewing first, no card required. In Japan the price is ¥580/month; pricing for your region is always shown in the App Store before you confirm. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account, and the subscription renews automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The room and "Arrange" have been laid out again for the wider screen. ・You can hold the device sideways now — landscape works on iPhone and iPad alike. ・The page-turn sound is now a recording of real paper, in place of the synthesized one. ・On 120 Hz screens the room was being drawn twice as often as it needed to be. It's capped at sixty frames a second now, which asks less of the device. ### 2.0.0 — 2026-09-02 ・If the screen hasn't been touched for about two hours, we ask "Still reading?" once, and end the reading fifteen minutes later if there's no answer — so hours nobody read don't get mixed into your record. ・Added "Make a reader card": all the reading time you've gathered, as a single image, ready to share. ・When an invite link can't let you in, the app now tells you why. ### 1.5.0 — 2026-08-29 ・In room arranging, you can now choose the floor and the walls — walnut or oak underfoot, and lacquer, plaster or wood panel around you. ・Each room you arrange remembers its own floor and walls. ・You can now offer to become reading companions with someone you read beside for five minutes or more in a public room, quietly, as you leave. ・When you decline an offer you can choose between declining this once and never receiving one from that person again. Either way, nothing is shown to them. ・If you try to accept an offer without an account, we now show you how to make one. ・When you share an invite, a sentence you can send as it is now comes with the link. ### 1.4.0 — 2026-08-26 ・In room arranging, furniture now follows your finger while you hold it. ・Nothing is tied to the 0.5 m grid any more: pieces line up on their own when they come close, and stop against each other instead of overlapping.
