There are glitches! When I click on a photo to enlarge it from the Home Screen there is no swipe function to return back to Home Screen in the position I was scrolling in and the arrow bars to move back a forth btw pages DO NOT WORK! I’m not sure if it’s my phones compatibility with the system I have an iPhone SE 2020 and update my iOS every time there’s an upgrade so it not me. I would love if the interface was more colorful like I get it we’re black the app is for black women but must it remain so dreary looking?! WE NEED COLOR! I literally just downloaded it so I will keep reviewing as I find issues so please developers do something about my issues I’m tired of our stuff (black people stuff) constantly being sub par. It is way harder to get around on the app. When I was trying it out I saw some things I had like but I couldn’t save the images like the other Pinterest. And the back button would be frozen and I would have to exit the whole app to go back to the page I was looking at. And I would rather go back to writing “on black girl” cause it is just easier.😁 ### 4/5 — Good/Needs Work *2021-01-21, version 2.1* It’s good but definitely needs work. Needs to be more organized and put together better. Like in the settings, when adding a picture for your profile. It acts weird. They should probably set it up like Instagram setting input or similar. Ads have to be removed as well. It’s too distracting. I think this is a great opportunity to reach out and get myself known within the melanin community. However, if I can’t update my profile, i can’t let them know who I am and what I do. Hopefully this will get fixed or I will have to continue with Pinterest ### 4/5 — Love love love...buuut *2021-01-03, version 1.1* I love the concept! It’s nice to have something for us! Since this is a fairly new app I know there are still a lot of kinks to fix so here are a few suggestions. 1. The adds are out of control. Every 3sec a new one pops up covering the entire screen. 2. I’m finding it a little difficult to navigate the app. I’ve tried to make a post but my picture doesn’t show up. 3 . I’m also having difficulty opening other users post to like and or comment. Still love the idea and I know creating a new app isn’t easy so grace to you! ### 3/5 — Needs More Categories *2021-01-02, version 1.1* As a brown skin girl we are more than hair, nails and our clothes. We design, own businesses, create products for our skin, entertain, create cocktails, upgrade our home, rig stuff so that it works, research and educate others. Please expand your app to include other selections of our life. ### 3/5 — Great concept, improvable execution *2021-01-01, version 1.1* Love the idea of an app where I don’t have to type “black girl” after every search! However, the app needs a few tweaks before it could replace Pinterest in my phone. Mainly, the app need to be optimized for larger phones (iPhone 10 and up), it feels like I’m squinting to see the content. It would also be nice if the ads were integrated into the app a little more seamlessly, as opposed to popping up in the middle of the screen or a banner that covers the menu options. Lastly, more searchable content would make me want to stay on the app longer. If these things were fixed, the app would feel higher quality; I’d definitely use it as my main search engine! ### 3/5 — Not bad *2021-01-01, version 1.1* The app is nice and easy to use, but there are some issues that need to be fixed. I’ve been trying to edit my profile but it won’t let me do anything. I tried to add a profile and cover picture with no success. Tried different sizes, tried the size they suggested and still nothing. Basically I can’t do anything to edit the profile section. And the last thing is about ads. It’s nice and all that the app is free and therefore ads are needed, but this is just on another level. I barely have the time to click on something that there’s an ad popping up and as if it wasn’t enough as soon as the ad ends there are one or two others immediately popping up again within seconds. I don’t mind the ads but the fact that they pop up every second just makes the app unusable and that’s really unfortunate. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — UR A LIE OF U GIVE THIS APP 5 STARS *2021-09-06, version 2.1* I love to support products made for blk people but this one literally is the worst. I downloaded it and within two minutes I was forced to watch 3 ads. I rather use Pinterest, at least the ads on that app are more subtle. I can’t even scroll or click on a picture without an ad popping up. This app is anything but convenient for black people. ### 1/5 — Pop-up ads are just not it. *2021-07-13, version 2.1* Incredibly irritating, which is super disappointing considering how much hope I had in this app. If y’all are in need of money you’re gonna have to find a different way soon, because I can’t imagine this app being successful in the long term with pop-up ads, on top of the execution issues that were already present. I was willing to live with some of the glitches for the time being just because of how rewarding the imagery on the app was for me, and because I understand that a project on this scale must be difficult to manage. I loved the concept of the app and the content I was seeing on it, but I just can’t use an app with those ugly and annoying pop-up ads. I’ll check in again at some other time to see if anything changes and I’ll amend my review in that case, and if it doesn’t change I’ll just have to let this app go. ### 2/5 — Omg, please fix this… *2021-07-02, version 2.1* I rarely post reviews but I support this app for us. This app has so much potential, but the ads are just ridiculous. Please take notes from Pinterest and put the ads within the posts. Cause them pop up ads ain’t the move at all. It’s annoying to the point I just deleted the app. I will check back in a few months to see if there has been any changes or updates. Until then take the time to fix the bugs and glitches so it can be more easily navigated and user friendly. I hope the developers are really taking feedback into account to make this app be successful. We need this app. ### 2/5 — Love the point of the app but needs work *2021-03-21, version 2.1* I find it extremely cool to see an app made for black people and how we can expand our creativity without having to search up things with the word black people needed to be included . However , this app still needs more room for improvement the settings are a little weird and hard to a manage . When I entered the app it was slow and I saw too many ads pop up . Unfortunately, the app kept crashing and after I was finally able to create a pin, my video didn’t post. I can’t figure out how to post a pin. When I click “post pin” from either drop down menu at the top, it just takes me back to the home page. Sometimes the page keeps loading so I have to close an reopen app, and of course that takes you back to the home screen. I know it will take time to work out the kinks. ### 3/5 — Needs some fixes *2021-03-27, version 2.1* I love this idea, I love it’s just for blacks but an ad pops up every 5 seconds. It will even pop up without touching anything. It’s difficult to use and when you try to go back the page refreshes the whole page literally after every 5 seconds of pop up ads. Please get this fix.
