### 5/5 — Dude. There’s a Mellotron in my phone!

*2019-12-09, version 1.51*

And it sounds BITCHIN.

I haven’t even tried attaching it to other things via Audiobus or recording anything with it yet AND IT DOESN’T MATTER! The last two hours I’ve spent mesmerized and totally transfixed by just playing with the sounds in this app is worth the $25. Whoever you are, app developer guy or girl, you fkn rock and I love you.

AUv3? Ok, whatever, I’ll find a workaround until you get it right (if you haven’t yet). Take your time, no rush.

### 5/5 — Stunning

*2019-11-30, version 1.51*

I really wasn't expecting this. The collection and quality of the tapes is fantastic. Immediate vintage tones.

### 5/5 — Awesome Just buy it

*2019-09-23, version 1.51*

Thank you for fixing the distortion issue quickly.

### 5/5 — Solid app and developer

*2019-09-23, version 1.51*

Sounds beautiful. That said Apple audio hardware rate locking at 48k through speaker gives this app some troubles. So on iPhone 6s + you might get some distortion when playing multi keys, and pure distortion when playing through the iPhone speaker after the latest 1.5 update, and until a fix. Though if you plug in headphones or an audio interface it should sound normal. Developer is super responsive, helpful and is working on an update to address.

### 5/5 — The sounds my ears and wallet love!

*2019-06-16, version 1.4*

I’ve always loved the Mellotron sounds used by The Moody Blues, King Crimson, The Beatles and so many others. The Streetlytron Pro gives me those sounds and more. Interfaces nicely with my Axiom 49 2nd gen midi keyboard controller. I’ve assigned the 8 rotary controllers to operate the 8 Streetlytron knobs, and assigned the drum pads to store and recall presets. Live rig ready and really expands my sonic palette.

### 5/5 — Sweetest yet!

*2019-04-28, version 1.4*

Having bought two previous versions of Mellotron iOS apps, I can say this is the best! Not only the latest collection yet, but a higher sample rate. Very nice indeed!

### 5/5 — M3000 Upgrade

*2019-04-20, version 1.4*

As a kid, I grew up searching for the special sounds that connected all of my favorite music from the 60s and 70s. It took a long while until I realized how many times that sound was the mellotron. Of course, it was some version of flutes and violins and horns, but the sound had a special quality that was wholly unique beyond the instruments of origin.

As a user of this company’s previous mellotron app M3000 and the desktop, M-Tron Pro I was curious about Streetlytron as a rebuild. I love the updated interface and think that it makes it really easy to select new sounds. I also like the 8 channels that you can save your presets to all neatly laid out. It really is user friendly, looks great, and sounds beautiful. I’m also excited about future upgrades that they’ve alluded to. Definitely worth a look!

I’m really diggin the “Three Cellos Louis” patch. Absolutely beautiful.

### 5/5 — A Mellotron in my pocket!

*2019-03-19, version 1.4*

Maybe the best app ever for iOS. That sound.

### 5/5 — Excellent sound.

*2019-03-14, version 1.4*

Sounds fantastic, the fidelity to the sound is clearly higher than the previous version of this app (which as not bad got an app). But this, this is road-worthy, for sure. The midi tweak-ability is outstanding. The interface is nicer too. My only tweak would be to have the ABC blend knob be done in an xy pad so one could blend all three voices, though maybe it’s too processor intensive. Good job!

### 5/5 — Yep---

*2019-02-25, version 1.4*

Very very cool.

### 5/5 — The Best Gets Better (and will keep getting even better)

*2019-02-16, version 1.3*

I am a Mellotron fanatic. It is my absolute favorite instrument after guitar. I’ve owned a ton of Mellotron variants since I can’t afford the real one. I started with Mike Pinder’s AKAI library, I’ve owned a Nord Stage with their Mellotron sample library. Two variations of the Memotron at different times. GMedia’s Mellotron original and Pro version for my Mac with all the add on libraries. And I’ve owned this developers iPad apps with his libraries since release. I’ve been so excited for this mostly for the incoming AUv3, but also the promised sonic improvements and it does not disappoint. There is so much more there in this version and it still has all that lo-fi Mellotron magic we love. With the tone control, 1/2 speed, optional MK2 EQ preamp and cabinet modeling you have so much variation in sound available for each tape set. Want it more aggressive with some added mid-range bite, turn on that EQ, mellowed out just turn it off and turn that tone known left. This app holds its own against everything I own and have owned and it’s so usable for any studio or live application. To have this in my iPad is just ridiculous. AuV3 will make this the perfect app and its already a go to for me in less than a week. The developer has also already added two new tape banks in the first updates and is promising more in the future that will get us from (now 65) to almost 100 with no extra costs! Talk about a great deal. Thanks for the hard work and making my “perfect app” for iPad music making.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — One star as worse than previous m3000

*2020-03-01, version 1.51*

Over £50 spent on this app as m3000 then omenie, deleted the app and all the iaps we paid for and charge us again for the same app repackaged and missing some of the best sounds. Disgusting. Recommend going for the much cheaper superior alternatives such as mellotron or manetron which have less sounds but sound business practices. 90 percent of the sounds here are very poor anyway.

I am happy to change this rating if the mkii vibes and all patches that were previously included with omenie’ s m3000 are added to this and rebate for previous buyers is provided. The choices made here are very poor, the mkii vibes were among the very best mellotron patches, yet they have removed them from the app! I didnt even think to check as this is supposed to be omenie’ s complete offering, so will be seeking a refund and leaving this rating otherwise. The vibe sounds included are really really poor by comparison, higher fidelity lacking all the warmth ansd charm of the mkii sounds. Not good and it really frustrates me as I love taped sounds and mellotron - if i wanted high quality samples there are much better apps. Please consider this as i would like to revise my rating and review.

I paid a lot of money for the previous version of this app, and plugins, and also the light version before it. I have now paid three times for much the same app with no rebate or discount offered, in addition to this version having some of the best sounds removed. Fix this please and offer discounts for previous owners who paid £50 or so for te m3000 app which offered more.

### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2019-02-14, version 1.0*

So, i bought this sight unseen as i love the previous version, the M3000hd. But this new app does not sound as good. There is a high frequency artifact that I’m hearing, kind of like a bad low bit rate mp3. This sonic problem isn’t present in the M3000. I’m hoping they can update this with a fix soon. I’ll add more stars to this review if that can happen.

### 3/5 — Great but saving presets does work

*2020-01-04, version 1.51*

Sounds wonderful and the midi control makes it fun. Unfortunately saving presets does not work for me. If it did, this would be 5 stars.

### 4/5 — Prog..

*2022-11-21, version 1.51*

Very nice app… just needs to be AUv3..

### 4/5 — Classic sounds

*2021-01-18, version 1.51*

Sounds great! All the classic sounds are right here.
The only complaint I have is that it sounds almost *too* good. It’d be neat if it could emulate some of the original machines’ notorious wonkiness. Maybe sliders for tape noise, warble, and that weird detuning thing it does when you play chords.

### 4/5 — Very Good, but...

*2020-09-11, version 1.51*

As a long-time Moody Blues fan, it is simply amazing to have these sounds right in my iPad. I really can’t add much to what all the other reviewers have said.

But it would be really excellent if the developers would consider adding AUv3 capability in a future update. This would greatly increase this app’s usefulness and usability, at least for me. As soon as that happens, I’m upping my rating to 5 stars.

Otherwise, beautiful app, very nicely done.

### 4/5 — Awesome BUT

*2019-12-02, version 1.51*

Needs AUv3 support. When is that coming? It’s p a PRO instrument and needs to be loaded and enabled for proper track freezing/mixdown in Pro apps like Cubasis NanoStudio Auria Ect.

### 5/5 — Wow factor 10

*2025-11-01, version 1.51*

This is really amazing. These sound better than the mellotron patches in my Korg Kronos 3, they are authentic and beautiful in that special mellotron way This is one of the best music apps in my huge collection, it’s phenomenal

### 5/5 — Wow! I would pay for this app gladly, can’t believe it seems to be free

*2025-10-25, version 1.51*

What a great sounding, well featured app with full instructions and information, i was so impressed I got his other music apps too, this guy put a lot of effort and detail into this and it sounds great, I urge people to get this while they can, fantastic, well done Mr Phil Atkin, I can’t wait to try those organs, too, never played one, but I want to now 😊 thank you so much 🙏

### 5/5 — One of my favorite instruments

*2025-02-07, version 1.51*

This is a lovely app with the perfect sound. The functionality is mostly good and even seems to perform beyond its stated capabilities.

The only thing is I want to trigger presets from another app. Tried to set up note on/offs on channel 10 as required. The problem is, my Streetlytron is set to Omni so when I hit those triggers in my other app (Loopy Pro) it plays notes instead of triggering the preset change. I need my Streetlytron in Omni for other reasons. Would be great if the preset selector could be set to MIDI cc’s like everything else.

Perhaps it’s time for an update folks. Otherwise, this instrument is beautiful.

### 5/5 — THANK YOU!111

*2024-09-07, version 1.51*

OMG. KEEP THIS APP ALIVE! FANTASTIC .I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR THESE STRINGS AND KEYS 4 A LONG TIME.
THE SOUNDS OF MY SOUL!

Please stay I. Touch. Thanks so much for this. A+++

### 5/5 — Beautiful sound, intuitive user interface, and good fun

*2023-05-13, version 1.51*

Music fills my life and makes me full. As someone who has plinked haphazardly at length on the family piano he grew up with, fixed cheesy discarded electronic keyboards for his kids, and regularly toys with the idea of learning to actually play, this app fills much of the musical-keyboard longing I feel. Very satisfying. Now I can play the ‘Close Encounters’ chord progression in the style of a Russian Choir from my iPhone secreted beneath the conference table during boring meeting, hook a 100W amp up to my midi keyboard via the Mac and wake my teenage sons with a church organ music, or just lay in a hammock in the back yard on a fine spring day trying to figure out the keyboard parts to In-A-Gatta-Da-Vita on my iPad. Deep and rich experience. Thanks for making it possible!

### 5/5 — My go-to

*2023-03-29, version 1.51*

I love this—it is my go-to for B-3, horns and string sounds!

### 5/5 — The real deal

*2022-11-22, version 1.51*

Love this app. It includes way more sounds than expensive computer apps such as MuTron Pro (although MuTron Pro has deeper features and efx, they charge a lot extra to add additional sounds). I control the instrument with a midi keyboard and output the sounds to my computer interface using the iPad headphone jack with stereo 1/4” male to female cables. A steal at five times the price!

### 5/5 — Spot on Watcher of the Skies

*2022-05-29, version 1.51*

Someday, I’ll learn all the wonderful aspects of this app and all the sounds the Mellotron can make.

But for now, I play all all the Watcher chords and my heart is so incredibly happy! Thank you so much for your great work. Much appreciated!

### 5/5 — Unexpected

*2021-07-08, version 1.51*

Well, I saw this being tested with good old Mr Woods (Sound Test Room) and thought I’d give it a risk on buying it.

It certainly wasn’t a mistake buying it. I’m very impressed with the sounds and ‘how’ they sound. Looks like it doesn’t get updated at though, so hopefully any IOS updates won’t break it.

### 5/5 — Excellent integration with iOS

*2020-01-02, version 1.51*

Well though-out interface for playing on the iPad screen, PLUS midi control from external keyboard. Well done. Love it.
