### 3/5 — Average at best

*2026-04-26, version 1.0.29*

If you have any connectivity issues with Bluetooth, make sure you completely uninstall the app and then reinstall. The operating system needs to re-verify Bluetooth connectivity or else it won’t work.

### 2/5 — Needs improvement

*2025-09-12, version 1.0.29*

It works, but it is frustrating when you tap valve 1 to program and you don’t realize it’s actually programming valve 4. It has a real bad habit of not opening the valve you selected.

### 2/5 — Connection and functionality

*2025-06-30, version 1.0.29*

The Bluetooth has issues connecting at all time I can be standing 1 foot and it works fine I’ll walk 5 ft away and the connection drops every time, the manual buttons require to be pressed multiple times either slowly, quickly, with the water off or on to even work, haven’t even had the product for a full year and valve 2 has to be turned on manually then if the BT connection is even good as I’m standing 3 feet from it in my porch in order for it to stay on for the set program time, I am a care taker for a disabled veteran and am trying to grown the lawn they can’t manage on their own I shouldn’t have to keep working on these issues

### 2/5 — Broken for 1 hose, 2 hose timers

*2025-06-23, version 1.0.29*

Can no longer control 1 hose and 2 hose timers. Still works for 4 hose timers

### 4/5 — The app works

*2025-03-03, version 1.0.29*

Menu selection could be more intuitive. Some menu options like the ‘eco mode’ cannot be deciphered without the user manual. From the app menu alone it is not apparent that the watering and pause Settings are sub parameters of the eco mode. Likewise the settings button for timing by frequency vs day of the week setting button is easy to overlook after selecting between freq vs DoW. This aside, the old fashion handheld menu with a segment display and buttons was never intuitive to being with. This is an improvement over that. Especially if I don’t have to be crouching to set it up.

### 1/5 — Crashes on iPhone 14 won’t work at all

*2025-02-13, version 1.0.29*

App shows full Bluetooth signal but just crashes out if try to connect.
iPad works ok.
***Bluetooth only is very poor functionality. Impossible to change program on the fly when travelling.
Previous systems reliability has been dodgy. My confidence for this version is very concerning.

### 3/5 — Poorly designed, but does work

*2024-10-20*

I agree with other reviewers, the app does work so that earns some starts but it’s poorly designed and poorly laid out. Everything that you want to do is at least 5 different steps, the menus aren’t intuitive, and it takes forever to load every screen. It desperately needs an overhaul and more quick actions. I think it’s fair to assume if a user only has one device they’d want that device to load automatically? Obviously? But nope that’s an extra 2 clicks every single time you even open the app.

### 1/5 — I DONT RECOMMEND THIS EVER

*2024-08-24, version 1.0.29*

I don’t recommend this product to anyone. Device won’t connect to phone unless I stand right beside it outside my house. It keeps loosing connection. Since the wireless connection is over Bluetooth. Bad connectivity.

### 1/5 — App needs a patch to fix glitches

*2024-07-25, version 1.0.29*

Glitchy app with too many issues

### 1/5 — POS

*2024-07-21, version 1.0.29*

How do you keep selling these when they don’t work!!! MELNOR as a company is really screwed up!! You see these reviews but havnt done anything to resolve it!! Took mine back and was the best thing I’ve ever done!!

### 1/5 — Pointless.

*2024-07-09, version 1.0.27*

There’s no point in having an app that allows you to control your sprinkler systems remotely if you have to be close by in order for it to work. I need a refund!

### 2/5 — Can’t connect two phones

*2024-07-04, version 1.0.27*

Can’t connect two phones. Pretty stupid considering me and my wife live under the same roof

### 1/5 — Frustration

*2024-06-17, version 1.0.27*

Once set up they seem to be reliable but the process of setting them up, modifying or checking on the schedule is extremely stupid. As other reviewers have said the spinning wheel, proximity and number of steps to dig into the functions is such a time waster. I wanted to buy a third one but I will not. I’ll use the two I already invested in until they quit working. I am on my second season with both but a prior, non-BT model failed. I’ll find a different manufacturer for my next purchase. It seems a WiFi link would be stronger and more functional than BT.

### 1/5 — Horrible, horrible horrible!

*2024-06-12, version 1.0.27*

Let’s make this really easy, don’t buy this product. I really don’t understand how a company like this, continues to let an app be out there with their name on it. It is so bad. I got a four port sprinkler from their company and tried to set it up with this app because that’s the only way you can set up the sprinkler. I could not even find where you could set the time of when you want your sprinkler to go on. Honestly, barely anything works on this app. From the revision history, you can see they made revisions a long time ago and then it looks like they gave up. Melnor wake up!

### 1/5 — Genuinely Awful

*2024-06-03, version 1.0.27*

The product that this app is for seems to work really well, but good god is this app awful. It’s so awful that it should very much make you think twice about selecting this particular Bluetooth watering timer. Melnor needs to spend some money on a legitimate developer to build them a new app as right now it isn’t user friendly in the slightest, doesn’t describe what settings do what, things are buried deep within multiple submenus, and simply does not have nearly as many features or customization options as other similar products.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not worth it

*2026-05-22, version 1.0.29*

Does not work as should.

### 1/5 — Broken App

*2026-03-15, version 1.0.29*

Unfortunately, the app crashes consistently after logging in with no ability to perform any functions. I’m using iPhone with iOS 26.3.1 which is well above the minimum required OS.

### 1/5 — Rarely connects

*2025-09-30, version 1.0.29*

1. Stand next to timer.
2. Connect to timer.
3. Delete app and reinstall.
4. Repeat 1-4
5. Return to store.

### 1/5 — Needs improvement

*2025-09-29, version 1.0.29*

The app starts off bad and gets worse with time. It does not even work now rendering my devices useless.

### 1/5 — Horrible App

*2025-09-20, version 1.0.29*

App in its current state just crashes. Won’t add water timers. Does nothing. If I could give 0 stars I would!

### 1/5 — App not connecting to devices

*2025-08-27, version 1.0.29*

The app keeps on searching for devices even though they are paired for 2 years. Thanks to this bug, I am not able to change my water schedule/stop or start.

### 1/5 — Bluetooth

*2025-08-03, version 1.0.29*

I have this device for a month. I didn't know it needed to be within the 30 feet range to connect because it doesn't say on the package or in the instructions so no way I can check my watering if I'm not home. After about 3 weeks, always need to reconnect and after a month doesn't connect at all
Do not buy this it's not worth it

### 1/5 — No Bluetooth

*2025-06-02, version 1.0.29*

Won’t connect right from the package. Junk.

### 1/5 — App doesn’t work

*2025-04-24, version 1.0.29*

First thing is app asks to change name—if you put in a name it goes into never ending search, & if you cancel, it does the same

### 1/5 — App not working

*2025-04-09, version 1.0.29*

The application closes when trying to connect to the valve, there’s no way to create automations or make it run unless you push the physical button losing sense of using it. Fix it!!!!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great for just needing a timer

*2026-07-04, version 1.0.29*

App can be a little hard to navigate like the settings for frequency and day of the week mode. Otherwise, really easy to set up, pairs easily, and (the best part) I don’t have to sign into an app just to water my plants. Honestly, hands down amazing product for being very cheap ($40 for two valve)

### 5/5 — Very user friendly

*2026-04-11, version 1.0.29*

Highly recommended.

### 5/5 — Great option for its function

*2024-07-08, version 1.0.27*

If you’re looking for something easy to program and control from your phone, this app is very helpful. You do have to be in range of the unit to make adjustments, but it is so much easier to use than other timer units I’ve owned. The app is such a useful tool. Once you understand the function of it, it’s a breeze to operate.

Don’t buy this and expect to control it from a remote location. The water unit doesn’t connect to your WiFi. It’s only controlled through your phones Bluetooth. I may be in the minority, but I don’t need to control my sprinklers when I’m not at home, so this doesn’t bother me.

### 5/5 — Exactly what it’s supposed to

*2023-09-28, version 1.0.27*

It does exactly what it’s supposed to, I read some reviews and I almost didn’t buy it. It’s great I like it’s simple functional design, it’s Bluetooth and like any other Bluetooth device the connection range is limited, it’s not connected to a network. This device works great.

### 5/5 — App works great

*2023-09-08, version 1.0.27*

App works great. I like how it auto connects to multiple units and allows renaming. I have a unit in the back of my house and the front.

### 5/5 — Works great

*2021-07-08, version 1.0.24*

I guess a lot of people aren't able to handle a simple app but it worked great with my timer out of the box and was very easy to set up in about 30 seconds. Read the instructions if you need but it's pretty straightforward.

### 5/5 — Super Easy!

*2021-06-25, version 1.0.24*

Super easy to program. Works every time. Simple and easy steps. Don’t know why others are having problems. So far so good. Good job Melnor!

### 5/5 — Saves me time

*2021-05-21, version 1.0.23*

I've spent hours watering our garden every summer. Bought and installed their timer. Then downloaded this app. It as saved me so much time and energy. It offers a large range of scheduling. Bluetooth works within 20 feet. I'm OK with that. I'd rather control my sprinklers in my 70° home than be out there manually in the 90° heat. Would totally recommend!

### 5/5 — WiFi settings!

*2020-06-10, version 1.0.8*

You can have only one phone or iPad connected to the WiFi with this app. My husband cannot program or run the manual setting...if I do not turn the WiFi off on my phone.

### 4/5 — Works fine - once you get used to it.

*2025-06-08, version 1.0.29*

Setting up and guessing how to perform each function isn’t intuitive - but once over that hurdle - the app works fine. A improvements that would make it much better:
1. Tap on picture to go to that controller. Now it goes into the “edit name screen” and to go to the controller needs a press on a tiny little arrow.
2. Have very different look between “select controller” and “select valve” screens as it’s easy to get the navigation wrong.
But once you know it - you know where your error occurred.
