DAVID ESKENAZY VISION:
MelodEar is designed by David Eskenazy, a musician, singer, and a facilitator who spent 15 years in developing real-life teaching methods and music theory exercises focused on helping musicians and vocalists to understand and improve their harmonic progression and melodic skill.

Why and for Whom MelodEar is designed?
For Musicians: It is a tool that’s designed to help instrumentalists connect their fingers with inner ear. The only aim of the tool (specifically for musicians) is to help them sing with their music instruments to improve their ability of improvising and creating melodies.
For Singers: It allows singers to engage with jazz harmony and melodic modes in a more creative way. Improve pitch accuracy and melodic creativity. Improve your sight reading skills and engage in the vocal training to improve vocal agility and understand the flow within and between different harmonic structures.
+ Learn piano scales to improve understanding of scales and intervals

+ Enter the training mode to develop improvisation skills and increase

+ Learn piano chords and build strong connection between what you hear and what you play!

How does MelodEar work?
MelodEar provides an intuitive and easy-to-use interface to help musicians and singers understand and improve their musical skills. Following is step-by-step method of how it works:
+ Edit Window: Start creating and editing your song including selecting and modifying chords. Customize the structure of your music by choosing melodic modes that match the harmonic progression of the song.
+ The Library: Once the song is created, it gets stored in the library which also contains pre-filled smooth jazz standards. You can access, modify, or use them as templates for learning purposes.
+ Session Window: It is the core of MelodEar where you start the real practice. Here you view the harmonic progression of a song with a visual display of the melodic modes that are connected to each chord.
See how notes and intervals relate to each other
Play with chords (jazz chords, guitar chords), scales, and melodies in real-time using the chord player and vocal keyboard which plays the piano notes of the chosen mode.
“Pitch recognition” feature allows you to highlight the notes you’re singing to hit the right pitch. You can also adjust the pitch with a “fine tuner” and focus on specific sections of song with a “looper” for repeated practice.
+ See It, Hear It, Sing It: See the musical structure visually, hear the melodic intervals, and sing. Get real-time feedback to check your accuracy.
+ Learning and Skill Building: Learn music notes from tutorials and get a guidance through music reading exercises to improve your pitch, ear training, and improvisational skills. Develop deep understanding of harmony and melodic patterns to improve your musical creativity.
+ MelodEar Tutorial Pack: Get detailed guidance and comprehensive learning resources to improve your musical skills. Get step-by-step instructions, skill-development exercises, improvisation training, understanding music theory, and improving musical creativity.

### 5/5 — This app is great BUT

*2026-04-03*

Did you guys stop updating the app? I found that’s when pressing the vowels (Do-Re-Mi) etc, there’s a long delay before when you press the vowel and when it makes the sound. Also sometimes when you press it doesn’t play at all.

This is an awesome app and I’d use it more but I really hope update support didn’t end for this app. Please consider the button pressing and see if you can make the buttons press easier when you want to hear the vowels.

Thank you, I literally switched from android to iPhone just to use this app! I hope you keep updating it

**Developer response:** Dear Kyle, thank you for this very moving and satisfying comment on MelodEar.
I love your imputs, and though we already have a full list , we will definitely get inspired by your ideas. In your wishlist you can though , there are some tricks to approach what you'd like to do :
- If you want to work on a certain section of the song, use the looper ( purple stripe with little arrows on each side) to spot the section you'd like and have it looped. If for some reason you really need to make this section a separate song, just 'rename' it in the library and then edit the chord progression removing the parts that you dont want. And yes you' re right : being able to directly name sections would be
-Yes we definitely created 2 major new features to be able to create your own chord and your own mode ! The compatibility/and transpostion between chords and modes will be automatically taken care of. This will be out in a few days from now.
-moveable do system vs fixed do : in the current major features that will be out in a few days , we also did the 1st step of it : providing the language of Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do. I know that your main point is about the referential. This will be the second step for us, and it's on top of the list : it's quite a big structural thinking to bring for us because we need to learn MelodEar to recognize Major key changes(when the referential would move to the new key) from just minor key changes to neihbouring keys ( when the referential would not move). But we definitely are on it. For the rest feel free to write us using the support contact. Thank you so much, David & MelodEar.

### 5/5 — Brilliant !

*2025-05-05*

MelodEar is a brilliant and incredibly important ear training tool. It teaches you to connect melody and harmony in any type of music.

MelodEar works very simply. You enter a chord progression and choose a scale for each chord. It displays the scales and let you play or sing over them. As you play or sing, it listens to you and highlights your note within the current scale. That’s all !

Using MelodEar, you can approach a chord progression in many ways. You can sing scales, arpeggios, or interval patterns. You can focus on one chord at a time, or loop a few chords within the progression. There is really no limit !

**Developer response:** Thank you so much David !

### 5/5 — Impressing tools !

*2025-02-17*

An impressing tools and méthod for ear training, jazz harmony. As a musician, I can improve my harmonic ear and mastery of the scales. Melodear is the best !

### 5/5 — Amazing!!!

*2025-02-17*

Melodear is the best tool i ever came across for ear training improvisation over jazz harmony with scales and chords. A must!

### 5/5 — THE future for eau training

*2024-12-04*

MelodEar is a powerful tool developing all at once Ear training, your ability to improvise on any scale and harmonic progression, intervals and sight reading. There is no equivalent to this thoughtful amazing musical approach !

**Developer response:** Hey JazzGeek34 ! thanks for this beautiful comment !

### 3/5 — Certainement utile mais…

*2024-11-22*
