I was trying to transcribe something on the piano, and it was inaccurate. I ended up going to the website and choosing single instrument mode. It will automatically detect the tempo, the time signature, and the key. It will have the sheet music ready for you within ten to thirty seconds un my experience, despite their claim of it taking 7 minutes. In terms of accuracy, it’s not that bad. It misses notes here and there, but in retrospect, works pretty well. I would say though that the MIDI playback isn’t very good. It seems off beat, while the sheet music itself isn’t. N2: there is a guide pop up that tells you about things it can do. However, my experience took a major downturn when I realized the app doesn’t allow me to add the YouTube songs I want. This was a huge disappointment because I often find music on YouTube that isn’t available elsewhere, and I expected Melody Scanner to support this seamlessly. Instead, the app restricts importing from YouTube, making it impossible to use with many of my favorite tracks. This limitation feels like a bait-and-switch after all the initial hype. To make matters worse, the app offers no clear workaround or explanation for why YouTube integration is so limited. It feels like a major feature that’s either broken or intentionally blocked behind a paywall or restrictive subscription. This severely restricts the app’s usefulness and makes it feel less like a helpful tool and more like a frustrating obstacle. I also found the customer support unhelpful when I reached out to ask about this issue. The responses were vague and didn’t provide any solutions or timelines for fixing the problem. For an app that claims to be designed for musicians, this lack of transparency and responsiveness is unacceptable. In conclusion, Melody Scanner has become nearly useless for my needs because of its inability to process YouTube songs. What started as a promising tool has turned into a frustrating experience that wastes time and money. I would not recommend it to anyone who wants real flexibility with their music sources. ### 1/5 — Scam *2025-07-15* Doesn’t work. Doesn’t even attempt to create a transcription…nothing happens. It’s easy to use but I still have to arrange the music sheet myself using the samples it gave me.
