### 5/5 — Have recommended to a lot of folks

*2019-10-06*

This is a super handy app when you want to send a quick note to yourself. I use it all the time in the middle of the night when I want to remember something for the morning, to take notes at meetings, and to add things to my todo list (via email). The interface is extremely simple and streamlined so you literally just have to type your note and press enter. It goes right to the top of your inbox.

### 5/5 — Easy!

*2019-05-23*

This app is a pleasure to use. I use it for sending myself private notes. The information goes directly to me, so I don’t have to worry about accidentally emailing it to another person. I do wish my emails could be archived in the app just case my email server failed...but I won’t dock this app for that.

### 5/5 — Perfect!!

*2018-11-04*

This is exactly what I was looking for. Simple and fast. I looked for a while to find something like this and feared that I would have to create it myself. But I could not have created anything better. Great app!

### 5/5 — Love it BUT...

*2018-06-12*

It’s not really one tap to send. Why am I getting a preview? I truly want one tap to send

**Developer response:** Hi -- thank you for the nice feedback! If you’re still seeing a preview after enabling “One-Tap Send” it means something is not quite working with your mail server settings. Check the in-app help & FAQs for more info, and feel free to reach out (“send feedback”) from app if you’re still having trouble.

### 5/5 — A Hidden Gem!

*2017-06-11*

Day after day you're bombarded with things you need to make a note of or remember, a vast amount of things, and this is hands down the fastest way to do that, in less touches/clicks! Love this App!

### 5/5 — Use it every day

*2017-02-04, version 2.3.2*

I use this app every day. I have it set up to email both my work and personal accounts. Every time I think of something I don't want to forget, I send myself an email.

### 5/5 — iPads & swooshes

*2015-10-01*

Here’s my look at the new 2.1 version (October 2015)

PRO:
* I checked out most similar apps. This seems to be the best-featured and most actively supported one for the iPhone. If you manage your life with email to yourself or have one other person you email a lot, this is the app to have.

* It does almost everything you’d want such an app to do, including voice input (which I like) and cc. sending. The UI is attractive and the generally dark appearance makes it good for after-bedtime notes.

* It’s quick and efficient, precisely what such an app should be. Tap on the icon and the app opens, ready for your note. Tap twice to send that message. Activate the one-button send, which requires an external mail server, and sending only takes one tap. It could hardly be easier. With added TextExpander support, you can even create a set of quick-to-enter standard messages such as: LTO entering: “Leaving the office honey. Home in 15 minutes."

ISSUES AND FIXES:
* iPad ready? It is but you may think not since the app may not show up in your list of iPad apps. The fix lies in the Sort pull down menu in the upper left of those iPad apps listings. Change it from Show Only iPad Apps to Show All Apps. Then it appears, installs and works fine. It just looks really big on an iPad screen.
* The swoosh sound when an email sends is a nice touch, but I originally couldn’t find any way to disable it. In some situations (i.e. during business meetings or college classes) the sound could be distracting. Now I know it can be done. Here is how.

For one-touch send, the developer has added silencing the swoosh as a feature. For two-touch sending, the offending app isn’t MeMail, it’s Apple’s Mail app. To turn that off, start the Settings app and go to Sounds-Sent Mail and change the sound to none at the top of the list of sounds.

CONCLUSION:
I give it five-stars because it does everything I need with style. Those who need to use it during conferences or class should turn off that default swoosh, so you don’t get nasty looks.

### 5/5 — So so helpful to me!

*2015-09-03, version 2.0*

My mind goes very fast! with this app I can shoot myself a message, look at it later, and write down what I was thinking. Wunderbar!

### 5/5 — Sous exactly what it says!

*2015-05-25, version 2.0*

My only request is to darken the background for night use age. Thanks!

### 5/5 — Fast/easy/intuitive

*2014-10-28*

I put it on my home screen and with one touch it opens up and I type a short note/reminder and press send and I have the reminder when I need it. I just search MeMail in my email and it sorts all my notes I've sent. Piece of cake!

### 5/5 — Great product!

*2014-01-31, version 1.9.5*

Only does one thing but does it really well and amazingly fast. Great for sending yourself quick reminders of things you need to do.

### 5/5 — Indispensable!

*2013-11-19, version 1.9*

I use it every day to collect all my thoughts in my inbox. Love it.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Needs an update

*2017-02-20, version 2.3.2*

Stopped working several months ago when iOS updated. I've been waiting for an update because I loved the app and used it often. Come on guys, pay attention to you App. It now crashes every time you hit "send."

### 1/5 — Not working on iPad running iOS 8?

*2014-09-28, version 1.9.5*

Just installed it. Am I doing something wrong?

### 3/5 — Buyer Beware

*2014-10-27, version 1.9.6*

Not a bad App but be FOREWARNED. Developer tells you on the "iPad" version that it's optimized for iPhone 6. What he doesn't tell you is — you have to buy iPhone and iPad versions SEPARATELY. Why does he talk about iPhone on the iPad version? To lead you to believe that it'll work on both. I fell for it. Don't you do the same.

### 3/5 — Okay, not great.

*2013-12-18*

I wanted an app that would with 1 tap open up an email and keyboard so that I could immediately start writing a note into the subject space and then click send. This app allows you to write a note but then you have to press a send button for the note to be copied onto an email (with the option of the note appearing in both the subject and body of the email) and then you have to hit send again. It then reverts back to the first step without the option of defaulting to exiting the app once the email is sent (after all, why would you want to send another email to yourself straight after just doing so?).

### 3/5 — Disappointed

*2012-06-04*

I bought this app (after trying four others) because I thought someone finally realized that after you type your message you just want to hit send. Not "finish" then send. Not send, then confirm send. Not send, then send again from your email interface (as this app does). Please update app to eliminate this unnecessary step! Super frustrating.

### 4/5 — Extra unnecessary step

*2025-09-04, version 2.5.3*

I think when we hit the arrow to send it it shouldn't need to open yet another window for us to send. I think when we hit the arrow it would be so efficient and helpful if it would just send to the email we have programmed instead of opening an email.

### 4/5 — Super App, but...

*2019-10-09*

I really like this app, but after all this years the developer should start to work on a iPad version. That’s the reason why I give only 4 stars.

### 4/5 — Does it still work?

*2017-02-08, version 2.3.2*

I've used and loved this app for a very long time, but all of a sudden it stopped working. Anybody know anything about it?

### 4/5 — Does what it says on the tin

*2013-03-20*

Does exactly what it says and is easy to use. Would be nice if hitting send in the app was optionally all that was required, rather than a second send in Mail.

Jason

### 5/5 — Incredibly handy for quick notes!

*2026-03-16*

Great, useful, fast app!

## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Very handy.

*2024-11-13*

Copy from articles , paste MeMail , send! Automatic quick note in your inbox.

### 5/5 — Personal notes

*2024-11-07*

Driving in the car, on a run, need a quick note to myself. Perfect application to send yourself a reminder.

### 5/5 — One of my absolute favourite apps

*2024-10-09, version 2.5.3*

Provides a super easy way to email myself whenever something pops into my head that I have to remember to do. Literally super easy and fast!

### 5/5 — A great replacement for Captio

*2024-10-04*

So many of the “send to me” apps REQUIRE my email user ID and password AND admit to collecting data. MeMail doesn’t collect data and has a very quick two-tap send. If you actually know your email password, then the one-tap also works really well if your iPhone is already set up to send email (but not Gmail). Focused, lightweight, quick, and inexpensive. I’m already recommending it to my friends and colleagues who all used the EOL’d app. Thank you Day One Design!!

### 5/5 — no attachments ?

*2023-05-31*

Despite instructions in the settings area, the long-press does not reveal any tools for adding attachments or pasting attachments from the clipboard. Bummer :(

update: The attachment gizmo is on the SECOND screen, after you tap "send." I was looking for it in the first screen. My bad! Thanks for helping me out.

**Developer response:** Hi Rebcabin, Sorry you're having trouble adding attachments! I just tested on this end and was able to attach as expected -- are you using the "classic" two-tap method (disable "one-tap send)? you should be able to add attachments to the standard iOS mail interface that is presented when you tap send in MeMail. Please don't hesitate to reach out to me at feedback@memailapp.com if you have any further issues/questions. *update: thank you for your revised review!
Best,
David

### 5/5 — The most useful app ever. Mu most usable app

*2022-10-22*

Simply and easily I write myself email memos. This apo saves the bother and the time. Works great

**Developer response:** Thanks for this great feedback -- I appreciate it! :-)

### 5/5 — Simple and effective

*2022-10-12, version 2.5.2*

I have used this for years. Great for reminders into your inbox. Paste text into it so it’s on your computer later. I put an inbox rule in Outlook on my computer so emails from myself to myself are a different color. Well worth the one time price I paid.

### 5/5 — I use it daily!

*2020-03-04*

Great app. I use it every day when I think of something I need to remember when I get back to the office. It works flawlessly and is simple to use and set up.

### 5/5 — First app I’ve ever reviewed

*2019-10-10*

Simple and perfect solution to fleeting ideas. Didn’t even know I needed it then used it a dozen ties within days of downloading.

**Developer response:** I really appreciate this review (despite the delay in responding!). Hope you're continuing to find MeMail useful!
cheers,
David
