## What is Memento?

Memento is a personal second-memory for your iPhone. Capture a thought in a voice note, a photo, or a line of text — then ask Memento later and it finds what you saved, with the context you need.

Everything happens on your device. Apple Intelligence's on-device Foundation Models framework powers recall, transcription runs through Apple's on-device Speech framework, and scene understanding uses Apple's Vision framework. No account. No server. No network required. Memento works identically in airplane mode.

Ask the composer anything:

Memento infers intent — capture vs. recall — and answers with citations to the specific memories you saved. Every answer is grounded in your actual memories. Memento never makes up content.

Memento borrows the quiet confidence of a reading app: a warm paper canvas, a serif hero greeting, hairline borders you barely see. Circular icon wells give every tap target room. Ochre appears only where it means something — your brand mark and the primary action.

• All AI runs on your device, using Apple's Foundation Models, Speech, Vision, and NaturalLanguage frameworks.
• Your voice, photos, text, transcripts, tags, and embeddings never leave your iPhone.

— REQUIREMENTS —

• iOS 26.0 or later.
• iPhone 15 Pro or newer for full AI features (Apple Intelligence required).
• Older iPhones running iOS 26 run in Degraded Mode: memories still save and browse normally; AI-powered tagging and recall are reduced.

— HOW MEMENTO IS DIFFERENT —

• Save first, enrich second. A memory is persisted locally before any AI runs. An AI hiccup never costs you a memory.
• No mode toggle. One composer for capture and recall. Memento figures out which.
