## What is Memex?

Memex is a private learning library for people learning from their own books, audio, video, PDFs, and documents.

Import sources, keep them organized, and move between reading, listening, watching, notes, Study, and Canvas without losing context.

One Memex subscription unlocks the complete app:
- Local and iCloud library access
- Document reading and media playback
- Source-linked notes that return to the exact page, passage, or moment
- On-device AI transcription and read-along transcripts
- Study and native canvases for connecting ideas
- Organization and export tools

Eligible new subscribers can start a 7-day free trial. Choose $4.99 monthly or $39.99 yearly; the yearly plan is selected by default. There is no weekly plan.

Your source files stay yours in your private library. When iCloud Drive is available, Memex can use your personal iCloud Drive library; otherwise it works from local device storage. No Memex account is required, and supported AI transcription runs privately on device.
