### 2/5 — So much potential. Fix the bugs

*2023-02-01, version 1.7.0*

I use this app for my creative productivity & jotting down ideas. For some reason everything I have been noting down on a particular note for the past week disappeared. Lots of great ideas I can't recall now

App is unreliable. Look elsewhere

### 1/5 — Pretty but....

*2019-01-04, version 1.4.1*

The app looks good but there isn’t much special about it. It’s simple but not worth a subscription. As soon as I opened the app it begged me to subscribe and my phone begged me to delete this waste of space. Don’t waste your space or time or money or finger strength or brain activity or anything on this app. 👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿

**Developer response:** Thank you for your valuable feedback. We will try to improve the app in the future releases.

### 1/5 — Do not waste your time! Does Not Work as Advertised!!!

*2018-12-07, version 1.0.3*

This app is a piece of CRAP!!

Sync does not work!
No customization!
$9.99 YEAR FOR SYNC!

All I wanted was a simple app that could sync a sticky notes from the desktop of my work computer to the desktop on my home-office computer so I could have a quick glanceable way to keep track of items I reference daily (such a extension numbers for phone system, universal passwords for shared programs, etc.). I just needed a simple app that could stick an open note on my desktop for quick reference and sync between computers - unfortunately Apple’s built in sticky note app does not have a sync function or I would use that. I was even willing to pay $9.99 A YEAR!!! for this stupid sync function. Nothing about this apps sync function has ever worked - deleting a note and it shows back up later, make changes and they don’t fully sync. Also for 9.99 a year the app has basically no customization either.

I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!

### 1/5 — Kidding, right?

*2018-12-06, version 1.0.3*

Why did someone develop this truly sorry application?

There is no real purpose to this app that so many others offer for free. And this is coming from the folks that developed the excellent Airmail 3 email client? There most be some mistake there. To Bloop: You totally spent time and effort in a "nothing" app. Lack of the “wow” factor all around.

It truly boggles the mind that, in top of it all, it is a subscription service. I ask, FOR WHAT? Why would anybody subscribe to a service that offers, at most, two or three useful features, and there is nothing elegant to it.

Please do not waste your time. Nothing is worth your money nor attention.

### 1/5 — What's the Point?

*2018-11-07, version 1.0.3*

Why would anyone use this when there are so many more advanced note taking apps that don't require a subscription. Plus, I'm not interested in sync via iCloud. Use an open platform we can trust, like NextCloud or WebDAV.

### 2/5 — No iPad Support

*2018-10-31, version 1.0.3*

It’s not even worth commenting on the subscription costs if this app does not support iPad full screen and landscape. Deleted!

### 1/5 — iOS Built in Notes is FREE

*2018-10-29, version 1.0.3*

iOS & MacOS has Built in notes and it’s free... and even better then this garbage that has a Monthly/Yearly Fee

### 1/5 — Nothing Special But A Subscription

*2018-10-29, version 1.0.3*

I have no issues paying a subscription for apps including notes and writing apps. I pay for Evernote, Bear and Ulysses. But all of the offer value.

This app do not offer anything better than the stock notes app and still wants a subscription.

Dev if you want to charge a subscription you need to offer value is that simple.

### 1/5 — A subscription, really?

*2018-10-25, version 1.0.3*

Don’t waste your time downloading this. It is hardly better than iOS notes and it is a monthly or yearly subscription. I know, but I am not joking. It’s $10 a year for a note app. Absurd.

### 1/5 — Why the subscription

*2018-10-22, version 1.0.3*

So I get it that the developer needs to make money. Why list the app for free then ask for subscription? Looks awful anyways, don’t bother

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Junk

*2022-01-07, version 1.6.8*

There is no direction on how to get the note on your home screen. That is all I wanted it for.

### 1/5 — Do NOT buy

*2020-11-19, version 1.5.4*

They claim the app synced across devices and does not! There web site doesn’t work. They have no customer service. I want my $ back but have no where to go. Terrible company.

### 1/5 — No sync. Premium has no benefits.

*2020-05-12, version 1.5.3*

Sync not working. Paid for premium, got iOS and Mac apps, no sync between them, but have iCloud sync active. Support on reddit has zero responses to 99% of issues. Looks like money down the drain.

**Developer response:** thanks!

### 1/5 — Charge what you want but let me try it

*2019-04-18, version 1.4.5*

So I downloaded this and tried to create my first note. I type 3 letters and a full screen pop over appears telling me to subscribe. DELETE

### 1/5 — Nope

*2019-04-16, version 1.4.5*

Sheer basic and silly functionality. But worse than that, some less than appropriate subscription prompting and process. Do not download this app.

### 1/5 — BEWARE - will steal your subscription

*2019-04-06, version 1.4.5*

UPDATE: Be careful, as it looks as if they’ll take your money even if you sign for the “Trial” and then you cancel the subscription!
This is what I did - after realizing it was useless (see my original review below) I immediately canceled my subscription, only to see the first month’s charge on my c/card.

I recommend you avoid this app at all costs.

While I really don’t have a problem with a paid subscription (as the “less mature” reviewers here seem to: how do you guys think developers can make a living if you don’t pay for apps?) my real issue is that apps ought to be thoroughly tested before being sold.

This one clearly wasn’t.

Markdown support is extremely limited, and very buggy: this was the main reason for me to purchase it (Apple Notes works just fine, but its ability to format sections of text in code/monospace is non-existent) and being able to write MD notes was a major selling point for me.

Well, sadly, this only half-works, and it’s too cumbersome to be usable; especially inserting ‘code blocks’ (``` ... ```) is really buggy and they try too hard to make it “self-detect” when the code section ends, so as to make it unusable.

If, and when, they fix this, I’ll be happy to re-consider it.

### 1/5 — $9.99 Annually??

*2019-03-29, version 1.4.5*

Why pay a subscription price for this when you can get the same for free out of Google Keep? Subscriptions for simple apps like this need to stop. A one time charge I can see, but it’s not like your writing the best note taking app in the world.

### 1/5 — App less functional than Apple Notes

*2019-03-22, version 1.4.5*

Be careful if you download this app just to peek at it. I got charged the $.99 despite there being a 7 day trial period, and it started a subscription. Apple reversed the charge. There is no folder hierarchy in this app. It is a single list of multiple notes, and searching them probably works is you have hundreds in your list. For me, Apple Notes just seemed easier to use and searching is good. App deleted.

### 1/5 — Sticky Notes?

*2019-03-19, version 1.4.5*

I thought this app would allow quick pop up sticky note to jot down a note - stay visible on my ipad screen - like the old sticky notes on Mac - Implied but not the case at least as far as I can figure out.

For quick text notes I’ll just stick with SimpleNote which I’ve used for years! More than that - Drafts or Apple Notes.

### 1/5 — No place to sync. Nil support.

*2019-01-10, version 1.4.1*

Nil support. Paid for trial to Premium and there is no syncing to my Macbook from my iPhone or vice versa. There isn't even a log in on the phone app. Support is non-existent. Great concept, but it isn't happening. Rip off. I would ask for my money back if I could figure who to ask.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Good now!

*2019-07-08, version 1.4.6*

Functionally it’s pretty cool. However, try to switch from the one provided by Apple and you’ll see the difference in quality, not in a good way. The fidelity of the fonts looks visually wrong. It makes the several custom fonts that I have look indistinguishable from Time New Roman and the problem isn’t fixed by scaling the text. So... there you go.

**Developer response:** thanks!

### 5/5 — No frills

*2019-04-23, version 1.4.5*

I love Apple Notes but decided to give other notes app a try after the latest update still missing stuff that’s increasingly important for me such as Markdown support. Glad to have found Memo a while ago. Supporting Markdown aside, the app is easy to pick up and sync across my phone and Mac. Just started the subscription trial for the premium version and we will see how that goes.

**Developer response:** thanks!

### 5/5 — Straightforward and dead-simple note-taking in the cloud

*2019-03-27, version 1.4.5*

I don’t think you are able to find another notes app that let you write, attach files and pictures to notes as easily as Memo. Need more than just plain text? Format it with Markdown. Want to categorize the notes? Give them different colors. Want to sync it across phone and laptop? Set up iCloud sync once and forget it. I’m hooked and I think you’d too.

**Developer response:** thanks!

### 5/5 — Really? I use it more than Bear and Evernote

*2018-11-05, version 1.0.3*

Lots of apps have cross-platform sync. My only request to the developer was for a white note background. I already like this more than Bear and Evernote. It’s much faster. Bear and Evernote take 2-3 steps to take a note. By the time I find the note in Bears left margin, I’ve already made my note in memo. I’ve even stopped using Todoist, since it also takes longer and I can’t jot down real notes. I paid for Agenda and it’s below all 3. I haven’t had any problems with syncing my Mac and iOS. And honestly this is so fast I just love it. Give it a chance guys, I don’t want the developer to stop working on this.

### 4/5 — Checkboxes don’t work

*2022-05-26, version 1.7.0*

When I click on them, nothing happens. Would appreciate fixing that, because that’s an essential thing! ✌🏽

### 4/5 — Almost perfect

*2019-04-17, version 1.4.5*

Memo is really easy to use. With Evernote, I had to Google up for tutorials and watch YouTube videos to figure out simple stuff. Super frustrating. With memo, most things that I use for quick note-taking is available right there. I probably spent only a couple of hours max to figure all things at at first. It will be 10/10 if you could add a dark theme to it or something for low light because I use it a lot by the bed at night to plan for the next day.

### 4/5 — Simple stickie-note app and a reasonable price.

*2018-12-11, version 1.0.3*

Most of the reviews on here are either complaining about the price and/or are filled with tons of exclamation points and all-caps (which, as a general internet rule, is a huge red flag). The app is a simple, easy sticky-note app that can sync to other computers and iPhones (hoping iPad is in the works), which some nice customization offers.

As simple as it is, there doesn’t seem to be another app like it. I don’t think any other notes app that has a sticky-notes feel with crops-platform sync options. Notes are customizable, but doesn’t offer a boat load of options that could paralyze the workflow. There are some bugs, but it’s brand new. I’m confident they’ll squash them.

The price is $.99 per month or $10 for a while year, which can easily be saved if you stopped buying coffee out every day and made some at home. Not every company has the luxury of working for free, and a buck per month isn’t asking much. The reason for the missing star is that all apple would have to do is allow stickies.app to sync over iCloud for it to damage the price point.

### 3/5 — Would Be Great with a Few Tweaks

*2020-12-19, version 1.6.2*

URL’s don’t display correctly and add additional font formatting enhancements and you’ve got a winner.

### 3/5 — Hmm... 🤔

*2018-12-20, version 1.0.3*

I tried to like it but within minutes of installing it, I deleted it. Why? Because there is no support for folders (like the native iOS Notes app has). I like to organize my notes into appropriate folders. Not sure if I saw a search function the app.

### 3/5 — Decent

*2018-10-20, version 1.0.3*

I use Airmail on all of my devices, so of course I thought I’d love Memo. The thing is, it’s just Apple’s own Notes with a different skin. I expected something different.
