## What is Memory Jar?

Memory Jar is a place to put the small good things, so that a future version of you finds them again.

The bread came out right. Someone rang for no reason. The light was doing that thing on the river. Write it down in ten seconds, close the lid, and forget about it on purpose — because being handed it back in a year is the whole point.


NOTHING LEAVES YOUR PHONE

There is no account and nothing to sign in to. Nothing syncs. Nothing is uploaded.

This is not a setting you have to find and switch off. The app contains no networking code at all — not disabled, absent. It works exactly the same in airplane mode, because there is nowhere for anything to go. Every build is checked automatically, and it fails if networking is ever introduced.

Your photos are copied into the app and re-encoded, with location data and every other trace of embedded metadata stripped on the way in.


WHAT IT DOES

• Write a memory in seconds — a few words, up to six photos, how it felt, a tag if you want one
• A jar on the home screen that fills up as the month goes on
• On this day — memories resurface on their own anniversaries, not on a feed
• A timeline of everything you have kept, grouped by month and searchable
• Monthly collages in four layouts, exported as an image or as a PDF whose text you can still select and copy
• Home screen widgets from small to large, two for the lock screen, and one that opens straight into a blank page
• Quiet reminders you choose: an anniversary, an older memory on a slow day, a look back at the week
• Face ID or Touch ID, with your words hidden from reminders and widgets while it is on
• A full backup you can export anywhere, sealed with a passphrase if you want one


WHAT IT DOES NOT DO

No streaks. No completion rings. No scores. No charts turning your life into a performance metric. No badges nagging you from the home screen — the app never sets one, ever.

No feed, no followers, nothing to share unless you decide to. An empty jar is not a failure state and is never treated as one.
