## What is Memory Lake?

Your private memory for everything you’re still thinking through.

Thoughts rarely arrive as finished documents. They arrive as fragments: a note from a meeting, a quick line while walking, a detail that will matter later, a decision you need to remember, or a half-formed idea that does not have a home yet.

Memory Lake lets you capture those fragments as records, keep the original source material intact, and return later to the full context.

Capture a record. Grow a memory.

Add what you know when it arrives. Memory Lake can place new material into an existing memory, create a new one, or help find where it belongs. Over time, related records become a structured memory that grows with every addition.

Built around records, memories, templates, and versions.

Records
Every addition is preserved as raw source material. Your words are not overwritten.

Memories
Related records become living documents that grow over time.

Templates
Each memory follows writing and formatting rules that shape how new material is added. Use built-in templates or create your own.

Versions
Change direction without losing the path you came from. Edit, rewrite, restructure, move text, or return to an earlier version when needed.

For the things that unfold over time.

Use Memory Lake for product ideas, meeting decisions, research notes, personal journals, client context, strategy documents, health logs, bug investigations, learning notes, writing projects, and anything else that becomes clearer as more context arrives.

Start with one fragment. Keep adding what matters. Return when the picture is clearer.

Private, owned, and protected.

Memory Lake protects local data with encrypted storage and supports encrypted cloud memories when encryption is enabled. Your source material remains yours, and we do not sell your data or share it for advertising.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2026.7.2917 — 2026-07-22

Multi-select for records — Select multiple records at once to copy, move, or delete them in a single action, or turn a selection into a brand-new memory.

More reliable auto-save — Drafts now save and restore dependably across app restarts and vault unlocks. Unsaved-change prompts are accurate, and the Save button reflects real edits (no more phantom "unsaved" indicators).

Safer editing — Fixes to switching between memories and to move/copy flows prevent lost or cross-memory corrupted edits, including when the vault is locked.

Consistent lists & menus — Memories sort the same way on every screen, and record action menus now share one consistent order.

Polish & stability — Selectable text in the raw-memory view, the copy destination stays open if an operation fails, single-tap highlighting restored in the records popup, plus numerous reliability fixes.

### 2026.6.2693 — 2026-06-24

Improved reliability and polish across Memory Lake.
This update makes memory syncing, record handling, and queued operations more dependable, with clearer recovery when a memory is busy or an action needs attention. Encryption key setup and validation are more robust, settings persistence has been tightened, and larger memory libraries now load more reliably.
Also includes stability improvements, cleaner error handling, and internal performance work across memory operations, templates, sync, and app startup.

### 2026.6.2585 — 2026-06-12

Improved capture, sync, queue reliability, and encryption key handling. This release also strengthens sign-in refresh, template/settings operations, memory record workflows, localization, and overall app stability.

### 2026.5.2531 — 2026-05-31

Improved login reliability when the service is waking up.
Added clearer messages for temporary authentication issues.
Reduced unnecessary sign-outs during transient network or server delays.
General stability improvements and bug fixes.

### 2026.4.2524 — 2026-04-26

This update improves save and sync reliability throughout Memory Lake. Changes now queue more safely behind failed saves, retries reuse failed work more cleanly, and delete/trash actions better clear outdated queued operations.

We also improved editor responsiveness while memories are processing, added clearer busy-state feedback when multiple changes are finishing, refreshed records more safely when switching memory versions, and fixed cases where stale record content could appear.

Template syncing is more robust, with marketplace templates handled separately from personal templates to avoid accidental pruning. Checked task previews and platform shortcut labels also received polish, along with general stability fixes.
