## What is Memory Toast?

Memory Toast turns everything you’re trying to learn into flashcards you’ll actually remember — powered by spaced repetition and AI.

Whether you’re studying a new language, cramming for an exam, or memorizing terminology, Memory Toast schedules every card at the perfect moment so knowledge sticks for the long term instead of fading overnight.

SCAN, DON’T TYPE
• Snap a photo of a textbook, your notes, or a handout and let AI turn it into a ready-to-study deck in seconds.
• No more hours of manual card-making.

SPACED REPETITION THAT WORKS
• The FSRS memory model (classic SM-2 also available) shows each card right before you’d forget it.
• Rate your recall — Not familiar / So-so / Proficient — and the schedule adapts to you.
• Cards move from New → Learning → Mastered as you progress.

RICH, FLEXIBLE CARDS
• Add text, images, audio, and video to either side of a card.
• Practice both directions with Reverse mode.
• Organize cards into decks with stats for every one.

STAY MOTIVATED
• Daily review reminders and streaks keep the habit alive.
• See exactly how many cards are due today and how many you’ve mastered.

A LIBRARY OF DECKS
• Discover thousands of community decks across languages, science, exams, programming, and more.
• Publish and share your own decks with a tap.

YOURS, EVERYWHERE
• Local-first design means it’s fast and works offline.
• Sign in to sync your decks and progress across devices.

Available in English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese, Spanish, and Vietnamese.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.1.2 — 2026-10-04

NEW
• Buy Tokens now explains Premium at the top: 1,000 Tokens every month, no interstitial ads, and making cards with Toast Jam, Toast Cue and AI assistant skills. Tap Website on any item for details. You'll find it on Usage Statistics too, and subscribers see their Premium benefits.

FIXED
• Voice buttons on cards laid out in the new editor no longer stay silent during study.
• iPhones on iOS 16 or earlier: adding the device voice to a card no longer crashes the app. On these devices the device voice is preview-only; to add audio to a card, use the natural AI voice or Record.

Thanks for using Memory Toast!

### 2.1.1 — 2026-10-03

FIXED
• AI Card Maker: pasting a long word list no longer fails. Long lists are processed in parts, so every word becomes a card.
• When card making fails, the app now tells you why, and hides Retry when retrying can't help (for example, when the content is too long).
• The estimated cost before you start now reflects the length of your content, so you see what a long list costs in Tokens up front.

Thanks for using Memory Toast!

### 2.1.0 — 2026-10-02

NEW
• All-new card editor: like an IG story — drag, resize and rotate text, images and videos right on the card. The card you study looks exactly like the one you arranged. Prefer the old editor? Tap “⋯” at the top right and choose Classic editor.
• Long-press to read aloud: while studying, long-press text on either side of a card. Choose Read aloud to hear it for free, or AI voice for a more natural one — then add a voice button next to the text in one tap.
• Three voice options: device voice (free, works offline), natural AI voice (priced by length — a short phrase costs 1 Token), or record your own / pick an audio file.
• Videos on cards: add one from your photos, a file, or a YouTube / Vimeo link, and tap it to play full screen.
• “What's new” on Home: see what each update brings.

FIXED
• On iOS versions below 15, opening the purchase screen no longer crashes — it now explains that purchases need iOS 15 or later.

Thanks for using Memory Toast!

### 2.0.38 — 2026-09-30

IMPROVED
• Less intrusive rating requests: the separate "rate us 5 stars" pop-up is gone. After you've used the app for a while, the standard system rating prompt may occasionally appear when you return Home after studying — tap a star to rate, or just close it.

Thanks for using Memory Toast!

### 2.0.37 — 2026-09-29

NEW
• Korean (한국어): switch under Profile → App Settings → Language.
• A new tutorial in five short animations, including saving words from songs and videos on your computer. Replay it from Profile → Tutorial.
• Sign in to Toast Cue, our upcoming Chrome extension for YouTube, by scanning its QR code — the approval screen now names Toast Cue.

IMPROVED
• Cards saved from Toast Cue play the video from the moment you saved them.

FIXED
• Some text that still showed in Chinese is now translated.

Thanks for using Memory Toast!
