## What is Memorybound?

Time Album requires a subscription. A 7-day free trial is included; after the trial, an annual subscription is required to continue using the app. All features below are included in that subscription.

Give the photos you want to keep a book worth opening slowly.

Time Album is a vintage photo album for iPhone, iPhone Duo, and iPad. Choose a cover, give your book a title, and gather the photos of a trip, your family, or a chapter of your life. Paper textures, a shaded spine, notes on the backs of prints, and the traces of time give each album its own story.

Duo ready: a bookshelf outside, two pages inside

Choose an album and preview its cover on the wooden bookshelf on iPhone Duo's outer screen. Unfold in landscape to open a two-page spread. Unfold from the bookshelf to stay there, or choose a book first to open that album. Before pressing a postmark onto the paper, drag its preview across the spine to find a place on either page.

A reading experience for each screen

Other iPhones offer single-page reading, with forms and controls adapted for smaller screens. On iPad, read one page in portrait or two pages in landscape, and use Apple Pencil to write on pages and photo backs. Pages follow your touch, with paper shadows and optional page-turning sounds.

Arrange photos like printed photographs

Import photos from your library, organize them by shooting date, or adjust their position, size, and angle by hand. Choose borders and mounts to compose a page. Enlarge a photo, then swipe horizontally to turn it over and see its original date, time, and location information when available.

Keep the stories around the photos

Write a dedication and choose from vintage layouts, signatures, and name seals. Type dedications and photo-back notes on iPhone. On iPad, type or write with Apple Pencil. Choose a back style for each photo, then add a travel postmark to mark the moment.

Let time leave its traces

Paper, photos, and ink develop aging effects over time. Turn the time dial to preview the album years from now, then return to the present. Your photos and words remain preserved; the effects belong to the album.

Find memories by time, place, and person

Build albums and chapters from photo dates and locations. Browse album photos as a film roll in a contact sheet, then jump back to the corresponding page. On-device recognition helps you browse by person. You can also cover a person's face with ink inside the album and bring them back later. Photos with compatible depth data can be viewed with depth and parallax effects.

Keep a book, or pass it on

Export an album as a .tcalbum file to save or share its photos, handwriting, and layout. Import a received file into Time Album to browse that book again.

The originals in your system photo library stay untouched. Layouts, handwriting, face coverings, and aging effects are stored separately in the album. Recognition runs on your device; photos and recognition results are not uploaded to our servers.

A place to keep the moments worth turning back to.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.0 — 2026-10-11

Duo ready! Time Album now brings your bookshelf to iPhone Duo. Pick an album on the outer screen, unfold your phone, and enjoy a two-page spread for photos, dedications, and travel postmarks. The bookshelf now welcomes other iPhones, too.
New
· A dedicated iPhone Duo experience: an outer-screen bookshelf and cover preview, with two-page reading when unfolded in landscape. Unfold from the bookshelf to stay there, or select an album first to open that book.
· Single-page reading on other iPhones, with forms and controls adapted for smaller screens and models with a Home button.
· Place postmarks on any album page. On Duo, drag the preview across the spine to either page before stamping it down.

Improved
· Type dedications and photo-back notes on iPhone. A Dismiss button just above the keyboard keeps your draft intact while you check the layout and preview.
· Start a dedication from Write a Dedication. Once saved, use Edit dedication in the tools to make changes, reducing accidental edits while reading.
· Refined Duo bookshelf materials, brass nameplate, cover lettering, and contact shadows.
· Clearer pages without translucent bars at the top and bottom. Controls remain available, and pages stay in place when tools appear. The time dial is more compact on other iPhones.
· Better preservation of photo proportions in the enlarged view, with smoother bookshelf dragging, cover display, and postmark previews.

Fixed
· Chapter titles hidden by the Dynamic Island, a missing Dismiss control when the keyboard first appears, and text fields obscured by the keyboard on smaller iPhones.
· Backward page-turning issues and problems with cover selection and bookshelf arrangement.

### 1.1.2 — 2026-10-10

· Full VoiceOver support: swipe left or right with three fingers to turn pages (the page number is announced), double-tap with two fingers to show or hide the desk tools, and scrub with two fingers to close an enlarged photo or the album.
· With VoiceOver, swipe up or down on an album on the shelf to edit, share or remove it. Each photo announces its date and place — swipe up or down and choose "View Full Size" to enlarge it.
· Text in Settings, People, the guide and other screens now follows the system Larger Text setting; pages, covers and dedications keep their original look.
· In narrow windows such as Split View or Slide Over, the New Album panel now stacks vertically instead of being squeezed.

### 1.1.1 — 2026-10-04

· Each photo's back can now have its own look: flip a photo, tap “Write on the back,” and pick Ballpoint Note, Pencil Note, Studio Stamp or Typed Label at the top — the preview shows exactly how it will look.
· Tall, narrow photos now fit entirely on screen when enlarged, and you can see and write on the whole back.
· A simpler folded card on the desk: change the paper under Pages. Date stamps, keepsakes and the typewriter are no longer offered; anything already on your pages stays, and you can still edit it with a long press.
· Clear Cache now frees real space, including temporary files left over from sharing albums.
· Fixes: items added to the first page in landscape weren't visible, pages with added items couldn't take new photos, and a removed guide card could reappear on the shelf.

### 1.1 — 2026-09-28

The Paper Craft update: dedications, postmarks and photo backs that look made by hand.

· Five new vintage layouts for the dedication page — Frontispiece, Letterpress, Typed Letter, Old Postcard and Ruled Letter — alongside the original handwritten style. Each has its own typeface and arrangement, with a version for English and one for Chinese, chosen by what you write.
· Write your dedication and your signature separately, and add a name seal beneath it — a white or red seal cut from your signature. The date is filled in from the day you wrote it.
· Add a postmark to the dedication page: six styles, your own place and date, a choice of ink. Preview where it lands, then stamp it. Its uneven ink and slight tilt are set the moment you press, and stay exactly that way every time you open the album.
· Choose how the backs of your photos look: Ballpoint Note, Pencil Note, Studio Stamp or Typed Label, one style for the whole album. Dates and places are written short, the way you'd jot them down.
· Writing on the backs, postmark ink and seal paste all age slowly with the years.
· Chinese characters from the typewriter now look like old movable type.
· All new typefaces are built into the app — nothing to download.
· Shared albums carry all of this with them.
· Small fixes, and an updated guide.
