## What is Memorylens?

Memorylens shows you the photos you took on this day, in every year before this one.

Open it in the morning. One day, all the way back.

What it leaves out

Your camera roll is mostly not memories. It is screenshots, receipts, parking signs, and the nineteen near-identical shots you took to get one good one.

Memorylens reads all of that and keeps it out. Screenshots are detected exactly, not guessed at. Bursts collapse to the one frame worth keeping. Receipts, documents and photos of a laptop screen get scored and dropped. Photos with people in them rank higher, because those are the ones you stop on.

You set how strict the filter is. If something still gets through, hide it, and it never comes back.

The bits that matter

A reminder each morning, at a time you pick.
Any photo hidden permanently, with one tap.
Share a memory in a frame that carries the year, or share the photo on its own.
Finding today's photos happens on your phone and needs no connection.

Honest about your data

Memorylens reads the dates on your photos to work out what belongs to today. That runs on your phone.

Nothing is sold, nothing is used for advertising, and there is no tracking of any kind.

Keep, optional

The daily memory is free, every year of it. Keep adds one thing: a copy of each memory saved as it surfaces, so the day is still here even if the photo has left your phone. Delete from your camera roll without losing the moment. A copy is around 1600 pixels wide, right for looking at and sharing, not a replacement for your original. Screenshots and receipts are never uploaded.

Keep costs EUR 19.99 a year. It is a yearly auto-renewing subscription: payment is charged to your Apple account when you confirm, and it renews at the same price each year unless you cancel at least a day before it renews. You can cancel any time in your Apple account settings.

Requires iOS 18. iPhone only.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.1.5 — 2026-10-03

The widget now moves on to the new day by itself, even if you haven't opened the app. No more yesterday's photo on your home screen in the morning.

### 1.1.4 — 2026-09-17

Choose how a memory leaves the app each time you send it: as a story, a feed post, a square, or in the photo's own shape with nothing cropped.

Surprise me opens a random day from a random year. You can also hide a whole date for good, and a quiet streak counts the days you open the app.

Tapping a reminder no longer closes the app, the heart saves to the Memorylens album only, and deleting a memory also removes its saved copy.

The home screen now opens sharp: a short loading screen gathers your first memories at full quality before showing them.

### 1.1.2 — 2026-09-15

Memories you have a code for now keep saving in the background, usually overnight while your phone charges on wifi, so a big library no longer needs the app left open.

A memory no longer flickers while you watch it, and pinching in zooms the photograph rather than the light behind it.

The welcome screen after setup opens smoothly again.

### 1.1.1 — 2026-09-09

Pulling a memory down no longer flickers.

Wide photographs are shown whole, on the cover as well as in the story, and pinching in on any photo shows it whole.

A heart on each memory marks the photo as a favourite in Photos and files it in a Memorylens album there, so a memory you have just seen is easy to find again.

### 1.1.0 — 2026-09-08

Today's memories now play as a story. Open the day and each photo fills the screen for eight seconds, then the next year arrives on its own. Tap the right side to move on, the left side to go back, hold to pause, pinch to look closer. The day ends on a card that puts Send to under your thumb.

Drag from the right to turn to the day before, like turning a block. Drag from the left to come back, or to leave.

The scrolling feed is gone.

Every memory now says which day you are looking at and how far back it is: Memory from 8 September 2024, 2 years ago today.

Keep is offered once, right after setup, with the free version a tap away. If someone gave you a code, this is where it goes.

Keep now saves the best few photos of each day rather than everything, so the days that matter are covered sooner.
