App literally does not work beyond the log in screen. This may be one of the top five worst digital interfaces I’ve ever worked with. After ten tries, after Wi-Fi connectivity, it will not accept its own assigned Grill Name…”null”. So, after an hour of trying, I will just use my third party thermometer system (FireBoard). I couldn’t help but notice there’s not one positive comment on these reviews. If you ran a business, would you do something different? I think so! ### 1/5 — Good grill but everything Wi-Fi & App Related is Terrible *2023-06-24* The grill itself is pretty awesome but the app is difficult to connect, Wi-Fi set-up and connection is an ongoing and reoccurring problem and nothing is intuitive. To make matters worse, Memphis’s support is not available after regular work hours or weekends when it’s most needed. It’s a shame that such a great grill is overshadowed by the worst, most unreliable and in-intuitive apps I’ve ever experienced. C’mon Memphis, you can do better. ### 1/5 — Beyond Disappointed *2023-06-15* The app is absolutely pathetic. How do develop a $4000+ grill and totally and completely screw up the app. This has obviously been a problem for a long time considering the extra instructions for Apple Apps in the box and admission that this is a known issue. If they knew about it and put special instructions that are equally pathetic by the way, why didn’t they fix it before they shipped it. Hopefully my first barbecue, if it ever works, displaces the initial bad taste I have in my mouth regarding Memphis Grills. My advice to iPhone users, verify they’ve fixed this before buying it or I guess switch to an Android. ### 1/5 — Needs upgrade! *2023-03-19, version 3.3.0* I am disappointed in this app. You are only able to monitor grill temp and meat probe temps. It does not allow you to control any part of grill from app. Memphis please fix this! This app is terrible to get grill set up and as other reviewers mention all you can do is monitor the grill. You cannot adjust it. Otherwise don’t bother getting it. ### 1/5 — Why is app a downgrade from previous app? *2022-08-02, version 3.3.0* I owned earlier generation Memphis grill pro which I loved and was able to adjust temperature of grill from inside my home as I smoked ribs or brisket which was great. I just picked up new 2022 memphis grill pro with some nice upgrades including new burn pot, interior lights, color visual screen and ITC inteliiburn technology which all work great. I downloaded the new app and expected upgrade similar to what Weber propane and pellet grills have. Nope..what I Found was an app that allowed me to see grill temp and probe temp but no adjustment on the app. I can only adjust from the grill itself. I guess you get what you pay for at close to 6 grand. Please.. somebody at Memphis grills update the app to allow for adjustments while on my ipad/iPhone in the house. ### 1/5 — Inferior Technology *2022-06-09, version 3.2.2* The only thing the app is good for is to track the temperature of your meat. You can't control the grill, adjust temperature, anything. Plus, it's very buggy and complicated to connect to WiFi, and the grill often loses the connection and you have to reconnect (which is a quirky and complicated process). 👎 ### 1/5 — Why do we have this app? *2022-05-20, version 3.2.2* Unfortunately, this app is essentially pointless. All you can do is see the temperature of your grill. You cannot interact with your grill in any way. You can’t start it remotely, you can’t change the temperature remotely, you can’t run a “recipe”. There’s really no reason to get this app or have it other than to set the grill up. For the price point of these ITC grills, I would have expected an actual app. My propane Webber Genesis has more app interaction than this does. Huge disappointment. Not sure why these grills are “web enabled” if this is all it does. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Grill great, App, not so much *2026-06-28, version 3.4.4* Love the grill. App will eventually provision and connect to iPhone. Connection to WiFi network remains strong on next use, but WON’T SYNC TO PHONE! Have deleted & re-provisioned grill multiple times, same problem. However, I’m STILL unable to actually add the grill to my account. Instead of the previous “unknown error” mentioned in other reviews, now I keep getting “invalid grill nickname please try again”. This app is the most useless and infuriating thing I’ve ever dealt with. ### 1/5 — Terrible App hasn’t been updated in 9months *2025-09-13, version 3.4.1* Spent 5k on a Memphis pro and I cant use the app all it does is provision the grill then you can never add the grill it says unknown error every time ### 1/5 — Worthless *2025-08-27* Same problem. Can’t log in. ### 1/5 — Cannot even login to app *2025-05-26, version 3.4.1* Before purchasing my Memphis Grill Pro, I read how bad the app was but thought folks were exaggerating. Nope! I can’t even get logged in which is needed to connect to WiFi to install latest upgrades to the grill. I’ve tried reset password numerous times and it takes the password, spins a bit and never gets past login screen. I’ve uninstalled it and rebooted my iPhone. Nothing helps. So…Report to Developer, but that takes you too an oops can’t be found page. Seriously?! Had the grill not been installed in a custom kitchen, I would rip it out and go with another brand.
