### 5/5 — Lots of fun

This app is a lot of fun!

### 5/5 — Super Sammlung

*2016-09-16*

Für alle, die Matt in ... Aufgaben lieben.

### 5/5 — Great practice in thinking ahead

*2016-09-11*

I especially like the problems where you have to find the checkmate in three or four moves ahead. It gives me much needed practice in visualizing what the board will look like depending on which decision I make

### 5/5 — A1

Very good

### 5/5 — Great fun! The mate in 4+ really helped improve my game.

*2015-12-06, version 3.2*

Great fun! The mate in 4+ really helped improve my game.

### 5/5 — Money well spent

*2015-02-07*

The limitations on moves will force you to see new possibilities on the board. It's true that these mates can be solved with more moves, but learning to creatively work yourself out of dire situations is priceless

### 4/5 — Excellent

*2015-02-02, version 3.2*

It is quite a good little app for those of us who enjoy solving chess puzzles.

### 5/5 — Love it

*2015-01-12*

I used to do these puzzles in the newspaper when I was a kid. Great to see a revival on the iphone.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2014-11-22, version 3.2*

Interesting puzzles. Really improved my chess skills.

### 5/5 — Really love this app

*2014-08-18*

I have their other app 'Champs'. Both are really great. You gain an appreciation for what checkmate really means--and the importance of forcing you opponent into vulnerable positions. I'm assuming this app is best for beginner/intermediate players, but masters may enjoy the fact that your speed is timed.

Thanks for making this!

### 1/5 — nice app

*2015-07-02*

seems like this app hasnt really been updated since ipad 1. same issues exist and same mistakes. the solver has not worked on many problems since Ipad 1, and now in the ipad air 2 era the same issue exist. You are given a puzzle, you cant find the answer so you decide to ask the solver for the solution, only to have the solver tell it cant be solved. so you waste time solving a puzzle with out a solution. Not just a few puzzles but many puzzles. Also many are wrong. also many puzzles will say mate in something but if you enter it into a chess engine the mate is in a different number. They need to stop selling this app which has had the same problems since ipad 1 until its corrected and they should check their puzzles with a chess engine that is legit.

### 2/5 — 2stars only because it’s free!

*2020-01-26*

Abrupt quits are frequent, and the solver can’t produce hints or solutions for any of the mate-in-7 problems. So it’s good for all the problems up to mate in 6, which is good enough practice. It’s entirely possible that more powerful iPhones will support this app completely, so if you have an 8 or higher give it a try!

### 2/5 — Ehh...

*2014-12-06, version 3.2*

Unfortunately, the "solver" rarely works if at all. And these mates can easily be solved with an extra move so not much of a challenge.

### 3/5 — Bien

*2015-04-21*

Bien

### 4/5 — Fantastic but delay or lack of delay gives away correct move

*2025-02-23*

Wonderful but if you make the correct move, opponents piece moves right away. If you make an incorrect move, there’s a decent delay indicating you made the wrong move. A good solution would just be random delays added to correct moves.

### 4/5 — Bon

*2020-09-26*

Très plaisant

### 4/5 — Bon passe temps

*2018-12-25*

Dur d’arrêter

### 4/5 — Shame about orientation

*2018-11-24*

All works well buts its a shame their is no landscape mode.Potrait orientation is a pain on a tablet.

### 4/5 — Great little program, but...

*2017-05-16*

I found all the problems entertaining. I found a number of alternate and quicker solutions to a few problems, but two of the problems had no solutions or were presented improperly (for instance black to play, instead of white to play)

### 4/5 — Great

*2016-01-24*

I'm a pretty good player but on a leisure level. I begin to find these challenging at mate in 4 and then of course progressively harder. I'm sure some are wrong Etc like pointed out by a seemingly very thorough reviewer but for me it all makes sense. The layout is the same as the "Champions" app also recommended. I also recommend Puzzle Hero.
Have fun

Des exercices d'échecs délectables et amusants ! Je recommande vivement.

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2024-07-01*

This simple app is brilliant. It really gets you thinking and it’s only two moves. Learning so much, with so many ‘of course’ moments. Well done!

### 5/5 — Отличное приложение

*2024-02-24*

Как тренировка лучше нет

### 5/5 — Most realistic chess puzzle app

*2023-06-03*

These are not “artificial puzzles “ but taken from real games. You can buy a book of puzzles from real games, but this beats them all!

### 5/5 — Love it

*2020-07-19*

I think this app is so satisfying.

### 5/5 — Good practice

*2019-05-17*

These nice little challenges help me improve my game. A good mixture for me of easy and hard chess puzzles.

### 5/5 — Great

*2017-10-14*

Good

### 5/5 — Great value!

*2017-05-11*

The amount of value in this app is quite high. I do like the verisimilitude of the positions.

### 5/5 — A must have app for everyone who is interested in Chess

*2017-03-22*

It's fun, it's knowledge, it's learning,

### 5/5 — Mate in so many real moves

*2017-02-12*

What makes this collection of chess puzzles stand apart from others is these appear to be taken from real positions in chess games. The player and opponent names are given along with their rating, if known, at the time. This makes the puzzles more realistic as opposed to the utter nonsense of those fabricated setups we've seen before, made up purely for the sake of a puzzle. Lastly, this collection is pretty large at 500 puzzles and they range from mate-in-one to mate-in-eighteen (I believe). Thankfully, the number of puzzles are plentiful for us mere mortals on the lower end of the calculation scale. I will add there is also a timer and a hint system. The board and pieces are somewhat customizable as well. Nice app. Fun and challenging.
