No knocks there. It’s fine on my iPhone, but too frustrating to use on my iPad. The interface will not rotate. My iPad sits on its side attached to a keyboard. This is a simple thing to fix. The interface itself is fine, but it would be nice if it retained some probe history of past cooks that could be downloaded and retained. The actual grill is outstanding. I wouldn’t let a gripe about the app on an ipad be a deciding factor on the purchase. ### 1/5 — Worse WiFi connectivity ever *2023-03-08* Grill is ok. Stainless is nice but it’s pointless to not be able to use the Wi-Fi connection if it does not work half the time. When you lose power or a breaker trips due to weather, I have a hard time reconnecting. I paid over $4,000 for this unit (Elite) . Wasted money. It looks professional and it behaves professional. It does not have the typical side auger system that most girls have which can come up and causes some crazy maintenance. The functioning of the grill is excellent. The functioning of the App is horrendous.We have a mesh system at our house with excellent Wi-Fi and probably 70 devices talking to it at any time. Our Memphis grill will only talk to our Wi-Fi after the Wi-Fi card has been reset. And then loses its connection to the Wi-Fi after one use or two uses.When functioning properly, the app is so terrible that you really can’t set it to do any custom programs. You basically have to use the pre-set pre-programmed recipes for just resort to basic functions like up temperature, down temperature, or set temperature of the meet.We are boned other Wi-Fi pellet grills and their apps work so much better. If you’re going to charge $4000 plus for a grill, invest in software platform and programming! ### 1/5 — Don’t believe the wifi sale *2021-03-14* So sad that the last update was over 5 months ago. This alone is a red flag of the poor quality of their product. If they can’t work out this wifi problem, they certainly don’t care about their smoker. There should be a 25% refund as the sale promoted the great wifi feature. Don’t waste your money. When you buy an expensive smoker, it might be reasonable to expect an App that works and is highly functional. This new Memphis Beal Street is such a let down from their previous model! After months with their (very nice) tech support, after new Wi-Fi card, update of the operating grill system, this grill still won’t connect to the app. The temp reading on the screen is 80 degrees off from an oven and infra red thermometer. I’ve purchased two Rectec grills for family members and there is no connection problems and temp readings are bang on with those. Very disappointed with Memphis. Best feature for any grill and uploads to the cloud servers so you can do it via cellular from anywhere. You can’t start the grill (because not safe) but you can shut it off, change temps, see up to 3 probe temps. Game changer on grill tech! ### 5/5 — Works fine *2020-09-27* I needed some help from tech-support to be able to get connected to the app. Everything works fine I have had no issues since. I love my Memphis Pro. ### 5/5 — App Dashboard does not display correctly when in dark mode. *2020-01-02* Used the new app last night but when iPhone X went to dark mode, the display basically was just a white screen with a slight bit of the dashboard behind the white, like 5% transparent. ### 4/5 — Working again *2025-11-22* Not sure why, but the app wasn’t adjusting my temps for about 2 weeks. I could see adjustments from the grill. They have started working again. ### 4/5 — Works great once connected *2023-02-09* For me, the app works fine. The issue is with the grill having to be reset nearly every time I use the wifi features. Its a pain and really shouldnt happen on a $7K grill when this technology is honestly old and common. That said, the app works good for me—being able to control the grill just fine, making adjustments, showing history of probe temps, etc. My only suggestion for the app is to change the graphed colors for the probes. Having all the probes displayed in shades of red/orange makes one almost indecipherable from another. I get your app colors are in that pallet but come on…. Lets try red green blue or something easily distinguished. ### 4/5 — Great once tech support fixed it *2020-11-24* Like many others, I couldn’t get the app to connect to my grill out of the box. During install, the app would crash right after the step where you type in the grill’s MAC address. Called Memphis tech support and they had to reset my grill’s “nickname in the cloud server”. After that, install worked without crashing and I can now remote control the grill from anywhere! ### 4/5 — Customer service *2020-11-03* At first I had trouble app was crashing and wasn’t able to use. You need to make sure the antenna is on the side of the grill and follow the troubleshooting directions on the internet. I eventually got the grill connected to the internet but the app kept crashing so I emailed customer service and they fixed the issue on their end and after they did I was able to log into the app and use it. I gave it 4 stars because of the difficulty at first. ### 4/5 — It works for me *2020-09-13, version 2.2* I had second thoughts after reading these reviews so I researched more. I bought a Memphis Pro because of the positive reviews elsewhere like on amazingribs.com. It was easy to connect to the network and devices. Assistance was needed to get it all to work with the MAC address and Memphis showed up immediately to fix that. Entering the MAC address seems cumbersome but the network security is worth it. Everything works as it should and the convection oven is amazingly great. ### 4/5 — Works well, just dated *2019-08-10, version 1.0.15* The app works well with my new elite built in. You can tell it’s an older app but functionally it’s all there. I can control the grill temp, probe temp and email or SMS alerts work great. The History tab lets you see probe temp history over a 4 hour window but not your grill temp. Would be nice if that let you zoom in to less than 4 hours for shorter grill sessions.
