In an efforts to troubleshoot the issue before contacting you, I deleted the app and reinstalled it few times, and I changed the password too, but nothing is working!! So in order use your service I end up logging in through the website, which is not convenience at all using the mobile. Please help? ### 2/5 — Content is great, technology is terrible *2020-03-30, version 1.1* The idea and content is fantastic and fills a product gap! Cliff notes in audio form for great self help and business books. Content won’t play all the way through, if your screen dims you have a very difficult time getting it back up and running without shutting app down and restarting. Every time you login the screen appears different and content organized differently. Most of the comments say similar experience over last couple years so it doesn’t appear they are reinvesting in the infrastructure etc. Disappointed to say the least. ### 2/5 — ‘Unsubscribe’ conveniently doesn’t work. *2020-01-23, version 1.1* I thought this was a good idea, and subscribed in good faith. It soon became apparent that I didn’t have time for it, and thought I canceled my subscription. That was like a year ago. Well, it seems that unlike most iPhone apps, which you cancel through your Apples subscriptions, you also have to cancel through MentorBox. It’s only $7 a month, but still... it’s the principle. The ‘unsubscribe’ button in my account doesn’t seem to be functional. The ‘chat lady’ assured me that my account was now canceled, and that my money ($7 for this month!) would be refunded. Guys, you need someone to Mentor you in GOOD customer service practices. ### 2/5 — Amazing content, glitchy app. *2020-01-18, version 1.1* AMAZING SERVICE AND CONTENT. Love the concept, but I see why the low rating FOR THE APP. Very glitchy. Doesn’t keep playing when phone screen turns off. Not very useful unless you can be near your phone always. Would love to change my review when things are fixed! ### 1/5 — They Beware! They charged me three times for this app, $296!!! *2019-11-02, version 1.1* They charged me three times for using MentorBox and refused to give me a refund for any of the charges. I was playing around the app trying to figure it out and Thought I purchased the 7 days free trial, statement comes and they’ve charged me the same day $199 for unlimited use, and $89 for One month, and two days after they charged $7 for one week use. When I saw this I called them and disputed but it was beyond the time they’ve allocated for disputes. I said at least refund me $89 and $7 since you charged me for the unlimited 1 time fee use.. they refused. Please beware, they’re content is interesting but surely not worth the $300 They took from me!! ### 3/5 — Audio lessons don’t play in the background *2019-10-22, version 1.1* I think this app has a huge oversight: You cannot listen to lessons unless your iPhone is unlocked. This is totally unrealistic for this type of apps because the whole point of it is that we should be able to listen to these lessons why driving or at the gym, but as it is right now we have to be constantly unlocking the iPhone to continue listening, which is not just a huge pain but a big distractor as well. ### 1/5 — Just use the Mentorbox websites *2019-10-04, version 1.1* Don’t even bother! This is one of the worst apps ever and not worth downloading whatsoever. It’s a waste of space on your phone and an even bigger waste of time trying to use. If I could rate with negative stars I would. ### 2/5 — The App is meh. *2019-07-23, version 1.1* I can’t say this app has been super helpful after having it for a year or so. At one point there was a fair amount of content coming out that I felt was helpful and while there is still good content there are options out there for audiobook subscriptions I’d rather have. I want to cancel my subscription and the app won’t let me unsubscribe or give me any kind of confirmation. The unsubscribe button is a broken link. May have to find a way to cancel on desktop. ### 1/5 — Terrible Customer Service *2019-07-16, version 1.1* I made the mistake to purchase a 1-year subscription with MentorBox. I was not only able to create an account but also I have not received my money back. I spent around $130 for two programs they offered. I contacted their customer service a couple of times, and I realized that they send the same email all the time. If you ask something different, they send the same email. They really don’t care about their customers satisfaction. Don’t make the same mistake I made. I would rate this app with 0 stars but I can’t here. Great concept. Terrible, terrible execution. I hope I helped you save some cash ### 1/5 — Terrible app and scam *2019-07-09, version 1.1* Horrible execution on the app, they can’t even hire a decent UI/UX designer to improve the function of the app, let alone I emailed them 3 times trying to cancel my membership and they never cancelled my membership smfh bro, i had to call my bank to cut off payments for MentorBox, this was a great idea but was horribly worked on. ### 1/5 — Bad customer service *2019-06-16, version 1.1* I tried to cancel my subscription the day after it got charged but the customer service didn’t respond to me for hours. I tried a second attempt a week after and finally got it cancelled. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Sign-in button will not work *2023-01-29, version 2.0.35* I’ve used this app for 3-4 years now. Great content!!!! However, when I got a new iPhone and downloaded the app it will not sign in! My email and password auto pop, but the sign-in Button doesn’t work. I can sign in from the browser on my phone so it isn't my credentials. No option for help in the app (unless your already signed in I guess). Please help and I will rerate 5 stars! But currently I can’t access the content I paid for. Not good. ### 1/5 — App Doesn’t Work *2022-11-06, version 2.0.35* The amount of content is great, but it’s hard to access it when the app won’t get past the login screen. It seems like there’s something broken with the login button, as I get no response from the app. ### 1/5 — Cannot even login! *2022-07-10, version 2.0.35* I paid a yearly membership and on my iPad I cannot even access to anything. Even though I put the right login info (I use a password manager for that), also tested the same thing on a normal browser and it works. If I put my credentials, the button “sign in” doesn’t even work, I don’t get anything, not “you have the wrong password” or anything like that, no matter how many times I press on the sign in button, it doesn’t work, I cannot access my media so this is ridiculous. I paid for a yearly subscription (with the apple integration) and got nothing. I cannot even “restore the purchase” for the app to recognize my purchase. I hope this gets fixed and at least I can restart the year subscription. ### 1/5 — Unable to watch videos that I got subscription for *2020-10-24, version 2.0.28* I paid for yearly subscription but now when I want to watch videos it tells me to subscribe to MentorBox pro. Be careful what you are paying here for. The videos that you browse and subscribe for might not be included in your subscription. ### 1/5 — Very Bad Product *2020-05-03, version 1.1* Very bad service. Asked for a refund as promised they’d grant and several months later still no answer... product is bad: content and interface are just mediocre. not in line with marketing promise. ### 1/5 — Absolute garbage *2020-04-16, version 1.1* If I could get a refund, I would. It is ridiculous to call these summaries of “entire books.” They do not even cover 50% of the material in many cases. Instead, this appears to be a method to get users to pay for intros to the main ideas. ### 1/5 — Hucksters and Scam Artists *2020-02-19, version 1.1* Prepare for the UPSELL! You think you're getting a valuable service going into the transaction, but by the time you get to the end of the purchase you’ve been UPSOLD 3 times, and you feel like you’ve been scammed or duped. Don’t get me wrong, the idea and the content are amazing...but you only get the videos for the standard price. Everything else shown in the commercials and ads are an UPSELL. Once you get into the app/website, there are 9 different sections or tabs at the top...8 of them are UPSELLS. From a fellow CEO, I would recommend firing the current leadership team and hiring in new....these guys completely destroy the Customer Experience. That’s really annoying and suspicious. There are so many thing that won’t play it wouldn’t remember where you left off that’s terrible I always have to start from beginning. I wish there was a way to favorite books. You need to send an new version ASAP! ### 1/5 — Gimmick *2019-11-19, version 1.1* Yet another cheap gimmick sold under the premise of mentorship and professional/personal growth. Cannot access anything I paid for on mobile device- disclaimer should read only available from desktop. Continuous rerouting to add on services, seminars, etc. This app defeats the purpose of having an option that easily navigates you through useful content. If I have to spend 15 minutes just trying to open an excerpt that doesn’t work- you’ve already failed. Perhaps this should be the next business focus segment - authentic business values and consistency. I am a young entrepreneur and have so much to learn. I picked the wrong major in college so I am now catching up and mastering every aspect of entrepreneurship. I was focusing a lot on reading, but it took me a few days to get through every topic, much of which was repetitive. Mentor Box has allowed to learn so much information in an enjoyable manner and a short period of time. They also provide actionable worksheets so your knowledge can be applied- applied knowledge is of the biggest aspects of growth that is often skipped over.
