I reached out over email multiple times trying to find out why my account suddenly became a client account. Only finally got a response when I called, now they’re saying the area has too many sitters. This feels unfair since I was already a sitter with good ratings. I prefer the local cat sitting agency I like because they still give me clients no matter what and don’t pause accounts. I hired three sitters and two out of them were problematic. One did not stay for the book time; despite me providing proof of support did nothing. The second sitter whom I had hired previously failed this time providing basic care – – no litter box checks, no freshwater. When I returned, my cats were desperate, trying to relieve themselves and drinking dirty water in front of me. I was too busy, ensuring their immediate safety to gather formal proof, but this was a dire failure. Despite reporting it, the app did nothing. I decided to just do it, just for the verification to ask for photos of my social security card to scan through AI. People are not worried enough about their online privacy and safety. I spent weeks being told my missing $213 refund was my bank’s fault, only for Meowtel to suddenly “discover” a processing issue on their end immediately after I filed a dispute with my bank. Amazing timing. Then, because the dispute process had already started, they slapped a negative balance on my account and restricted my ability to use features on the platform, including tipping my sitter — so now I get to play customer service representative between Meowtel and my bank for a problem they created in the first place. The sitter was great. The platform support experience? Genuinely exhausting. ### 1/5 — Applying to be a cat sitter *2026-01-15, version 2.6.13* It seems almost impossible to get approved as a sitter. I have years of experience and have references and I was still denied, even though it’s only showing two cat sitter for my entire area. ### 1/5 — Not letting me make an account *2025-12-12, version 2.6.10* When trying to make an account I get “account already associated with this number/email” even though I have deleted my old account. I tried to create a new account and got an error that an account already existed. My only recourse is to leave this review. Out of all the different apps, I pick Meowtel when needing a sitter for my cat. Their customer service is awesome. They always handle any issue with patience and kindness. Meowtel is very reasonable when compared to boarding and my cats are so happy to remain in their home and their routines. Karalyne didn’t hesitate at all to take this on. She patiently gave our kitty three different medications and kept everything very organized. The medications had strict timing requirements, including some that needed to be given before meals and others during meals, and she handled everything perfectly. I’m also very grateful for how flexible and accommodating she was with my changing instructions.
