You can also carry on your phone ### 5/5 — My go to *2026-05-10, version 4.0* This app is my go to while working in a clinic. Straight forward, no nonsense, and FREE! Also, a lot easier to use than flipping through a physical copy! Being able to download pictures/info is also fantastic, and has been essential in my building that apparently was built as a clinic/faraday cage hybrid. Also has helped me in situations where I have been in the field with no cell service. My only complaint/recommendation is related to the search function: it’s very precise in that if you don’t use the correct spelling, the search yields no results. If the search feature could be improved to account for spelling errors, or even related topics, that would turn this from a great app to a perfect app! I often refer patients to the consumer version for further learning about disease processes. I find the visual layout more inviting to read and I really appreciate the added images & videos that are sometimes included. The information appears to also be up very to date. Only thing that is missing is an auto citation generator. For example, podcasts within the app immediately cease playback when the screen of the iOS device has been automatically locked. This results in a podcast listening experience that is characterized by playback stopping every 1-2 minutes (i.e., whatever frequency the iOS device is set to lock). This is a fundamental misunderstanding of the most basic elements of iOS app behavior and suggests that even the most basic testing and quality assurance measures were neglected throughout the development of this app. **Developer response:** We regret that you are having difficulty with the app. We are aware of the issue and are working to resolve. Please contact us at merckmanualsinfo@merck.com if you have additional concerns. ### 1/5 — Not Working iOS 12.4 *2019-08-31, version 2.6* This app downloads and installs, however it is completely unusable because it doesn’t initialize - meaning the app opens to the part where the actual content gets downloaded and the erroneous “please check your internet connection” message pops up.
