I’m glad I spent the money on this for the app to not work at all. THANKS!!! ### 1/5 — Junk *2025-12-21* After spending $200 on a module that I connected to my outboard motor, I found the only way I can see my engine hours is to use this app. But this app can’t see the new module. It say it can receive Bluetooth or enter the outboard engine serial number. But neither work. Complete junk from Mercury Marine, module and app! ### 1/5 — This App Lacks! *2025-11-05* The app is terribly, terribly SLOW, and often DISCONNECTS from my iPhone 14 Pro Max, but it does stay connected to an older iPhone 6s Plus. It’s very difficult to SUBTRACT fuel. The only work-around is to go into notepad and type in a negative value, copy, and paste, save. It brings up the iPhone maps, which is NOT waterway friendly, with no option to select a different app. I subscribe to Garmin Boating (Previously Navionics) and would be great if I could select that app as default. The CHECKLIST is a great idea, but you can’t reorder the items or delete a specific item once it’s added. You have to delete the entire checklist and start over! Someone needs to be FIRED for creating such a useless app! ### 1/5 — Loads slow & connects slow *2025-10-02* Very useful app but launching the app takes way too much time. What is the app doing going through files, pics, text messages and emails on our phones or something? When it finally loads app up then you still have to connect it to the outboard…. Not only does it fail to find the bluetooth nodule which is found by the previous app, but it started crashing randomly upon trying to go to some of the menus. Fails to connect to vessel view bluetooth after multiple attemps ### 1/5 — Issues *2025-06-23* App is slow to load in when launched. App crashes regularly. When I click on Alarms is one spot it instantly crashes and closes the app. ### 1/5 — Lots of issues *2025-04-09, version 2.2.14* For one I have to manually connect the app often to the motor while I’m driving which is a dangerous situation. It frequently won’t connect and when I try to add gas it tells me invalid fuel range even though I am within the capacity of my fuel tank. Thought, oh well, it will be nice to have. Screw this app. It crashes constantly and is a distraction on the water. Poor product Mercury. ### 1/5 — Vesselview downgrade *2026-08-11* Why does the app take almost a minute to load? This is on the latest iPhone pro model. Further why are there less features than the vesselview application? ### 1/5 — Slow app *2026-05-28* The other app loads faster and has more features. This app is severely lacking and slow and doesn’t show correct fuel level. It only shows by fuel consumed and won’t let you click on the level sensors. What’s the point of having a digital app to only monitor the RPM and MPH. So much potential this could be, but totally wasted. ### 1/5 — 3.0 MPI expensive volt meter. *2026-05-12* I’ve installed this onto a 2011 3.0 MPI and it does virtually nothing. Tells me hours on the engine, revs, engine temp and volts. That’s all. No code reading or alerts, just everything my dash already says except volts. Hopefully this can be updated because for a mercruiser 3.0 MPI it’s not worth it at all. The dealer saw it today and found the same result, it literally has a weather app no better than any other, charts that do what???? And a compass no better than an iPhone already has. Lots of mercury advertising. God for that, nothing else. Create an update please so this does everything as advertised. For my engine it’s a massive rip off. ### 1/5 — Lacking *2026-03-26* Takes forever to load. Only 3 parameters viewable and one is fuel, so basically you get 2 of your choice. Vessel View was so much better. That’s progress. How do I go about getting my money back. What’s the point if the app won’t even open? How long do I have to put up with this?This is literally a rip off. ### 1/5 — Surprisingly bad *2026-02-14* I haven’t had the boat on the water yet but the inability to configure the screen to show the parameters you want is ridiculous. Speedometer and tach take up a huge part of the screen and are the only two things I definitely don’t want to see as I have dedicated gauges for those. As other users have said it’s extremely slow and requires a separate configuration app to set up. Looking forward to future releases as it can only get better from here. **Developer response:** Sorry to see that you are having an issue using viewing additional engine data. While connected to the SmartCraft Connect module, on the Live Data page with the Speedometer, you can tap on the two lower data panels to view more data parameters. While on that more data screen, you can tap on the cog button in the upper right of the screen to choose from a list of additional data parameters that you would like to view. The separate configuration app is not necessary to use SmartCraft Connect with the Mercury Mobile app in most cases. We appreciate your feedback and will keep it in mind for future updates. Once I downloaded this app, as it is the newer app than Vessel View(never worked), I was very happy because it does exactly what it is supposed to do. For starters, it’s very difficult to subtract fuel. The only work-around is to go into notepad and type in a negative value, copy, and paste, save. I tried it out upon receiving notification that the Vessel View app itself is being deprecated, and this Mercury app lacks a lot of the gauge customization features that the VV app offers. The ability to add multiple custom gauge pages is gone, and I tried multiple times to upload my VVM data and the app kept crashing so I gave up. Hopefully improvements are coming. ### 2/5 — So much potential *2026-08-04* I had VesselView for years, it would boot up an work way faster than mercury marine. When it does work, it’s nice to have. I wish there was a way to customize a gauge panel similar to apps we use on cars/obdii ports. Please put a little effort into the app and it will be great. ### 2/5 — Good idea, but VVM is better *2026-04-12* I’ve been using VesselView Mobile (VVM) for a few years and love it. I’d like to use this new app, but it doesn’t rotate to landscape view and it will only display engine data for one engine at a time. I like the side-by-side display of VVM, but this app doesn’t have it. If these two things could be fixed, it would be a great app. ### 2/5 — Decent Once It Loads *2025-07-09* The time it takes for this app to load is an order of magnitude greater than any other app on my phone. That is the primary reason for my rating. I have the app primarily to see codes when present and to have the ability for my dealer to see my codes.
