As well, when the “app support” link is tapped it redirects to a 404 page. ### 4/5 — iPhone app issue *2026-04-28* Up until the most recent update app seemed to work well. Now when logging out app instantly logs back in (face recognition) must close the app to stop. It’s horribly annoying to have to clear out useless alerts from it. Telling me a deposit that I know happened “is higher than the usual trend” is absolutely pointless. This is banking, not social media. I don’t need notifications and alerts in the app directly on the home page ### 2/5 — Ads *2025-11-12* Please remove any ads , it is ridiculous , THIS IS NOT A WEATHER OR FREE APP, WE PAY BANKING FEES, this is our banking and it get serious when we come to use it, every-tine i sign in or click on an account i get an ads, never seen this ### 2/5 — Nice apps but lots of sloppy bits that need fixing. *2025-09-15* Okay guys. It’s been forever. Fix your awareness fullscreen sheets so that the close button doesn’t cross into the unsafe zone of a large modern iPhone with a Dynamic Island. It’s sloppy. It’s very hard to dismiss an interrupting awareness screen, and not especially accessible ya know? There are a few other annoyances but how about fixing this one thing first. The app should ask once then stop nagging. The app also displays ads every time I open a new session. This is very spammy and excessive. You also don’t have a mobile app support contact so this is being posted as a review instead of an email feedback. ### 2/5 — Why changes *2024-05-15* Ever since update - can’t log into account. I change password and it’s good for couple days and then I can’t log in again. Now I have to resort to using desk top where I have no problems signing in. ### 3/5 — Missing two step verification *2023-10-31, version 3.2310* In order to use two step verification you need to talk to support line. Then once enabled you have to unclick a setting on opening page. Forget to do that and you have to call support again. Now I can’t login into the app as the two factor authentication does not work. It says a text message has been sent but nothing is ever received. Still no Apple Pay support which is Meridian holding it up not Apple. Would prefer the old version and copy paste so login isn’t so tedious. ### 1/5 — Was Great Now Ads *2026-03-14* This app was great but now Meridian has decided they don’t make enough money off me so now they throw ads at me and “insights”, which analyzes my financial transactions (probably with AI) and generates suggestions to me on how to run my life. Well my wife and I have considerable assets with Meridian and Aviso Wealth. I informed my rep that I am seriously considering moving out all of my wealth account and bank accounts to another institution I deal with. Either they go back or my wife and I move on. ### 1/5 — Too many pop ups *2026-01-30* to often ### 1/5 — Annoying popups and layout *2026-01-04* The popups everytime I login ruin this app and this bank for me. On top of that the new layout removes the ability to easily see all of your accounts under one banner. I now have to scroll past an “insights” tab to see the rest of the accounts. Why? ### 1/5 — Recent changes make the app unusable *2026-01-04* They added 'features' that make the app crash and clutter the basic functionality. It also takes up more memory, battery life (especially with having to relaunch the app several times for any transactions). There are a lot of things that I don’t love about Meridian Credit Union, but comparatively speaking, they’re pretty much the best around. Big enough to offer what you need, but small enough that they don’t take as big a bite as the big four. I also still feel like they’re fairly community based even though they’re getting pretty big. I bank with Scotia and RBC for a few other things and the atmosphere/customer service is still noticeable. Lesser of evils I guess lol. If you NEED a banking institution, MCU is your best bet IMHO. ### 5/5 — Awesome service. *2024-06-30, version 3.2406.1* Never an issue. I don’t want to turn on notifications. There is no button for “don’t show this again”. So I guess I will continue. Thanks for nothing. I would love to know of new updates upfront. I could not deposit a check as a new version should have been installed on my cellphone. It was a pain until I tried removing and installing the updated App to deposit the check. However, I am not a fan of the way the post and show the charges on the visa account. Sometimes in the pending charges I get multiple $0.00 charges that I never used to see before this major update meridian just did and other charges that are doubled for some reason. As a daily user, I see this as bothersome because I always feel I’m getting charged more than I should be and an obstacle to accurate budgeting. ### 5/5 — Redesign makes navigation less intuitive *2021-08-14, version 3.2107.1* The interface redesign starting in version 3.2105 (2021) makes the app far less intuitive to use. The app is still perfectly functional however things that should be simple like logging in now take a second glance for everything. When I see a section for member number I tap in and expect to start typing but nothing happens. Then I see that below that text is a member number box with such a slight colour change that it is hard to notice if you are not looking for it.
