### 1/5 — Scam

*2026-02-10, version 2.0.10*

The app is always somehow broken so it doesn’t allow you to pay your fare! But they will send you a load of penalty charge notices. Absolute scam.

### 1/5 — Woeful!

*2026-02-03, version 2.0.10*

Use the web page, The app won’t let me log in doesn’t recognise my details , email or registration. The on trying to pay without logging in registration is linked to an account so can’t proceed. £4.80 is not worth 40 min of my life. Very poor. Please review urgently!

### 1/5 — Autopay no longer works

*2026-02-03, version 2.0.10*

Only giving 1 star because I had to. I have had autopay set up for years but now it just does not work, nor does it allow me to re add my card details and give a generic “an error occurred while executing a request”. I can only log in to my account on the app too but not on the main website. It’s like they work as two completely different systems. Do not rely on auto pay when crossing as you will only be issued a PCN

### 1/5 — Can’t update card details and got served a PCN

*2026-01-29, version 2.0.10*

The app is showing an error when I click on my card - this needs updating and I didn’t get a notification to update it, so auto pay stopped working and I got charged with a PCN. I’ve now paid this because I accept my responsibility to update the card details, but now I’m trying it won’t actually let me?

### 1/5 — Useless

*2026-01-25, version 2.0.10*

You could pay 3 college students £100 to make a better app then these absolute cheeseburgers can

### 1/5 — Not even worth 1 star

*2026-01-13, version 2.0.9*

I would give zero stars if I could.

It doesn’t allow me to pay, I can’t even add my vehicle.

No way in 2026, we could have official apps this bad.

Shame on not only the developers but whoever thought it was a good idea to use their app for this service.

As others hypothesise, it could be on purpose as way to incur extra charges and penalties.

BS.

### 1/5 — Shocking. Awful.

*2026-01-10, version 2.0.9*

If I could give it less than a star I would. The website doesn’t work. The app doesn’t work. How can you, in 2026 now, operate solely with an online system and have it be this completely awful? Baffling.

Use the tolls you charge people to fix the service. Unreasonable.

### 1/5 — Bad app

*2026-01-10, version 2.0.9*

Had an account with money in credit tried logging in and it has no details or record of my account
Utter rubbish

### 1/5 — Can’t pay

*2026-01-08, version 2.0.9*

Literally can’t pay for a crossing, can’t top up balance and because I now have an account, I can’t even pay online like normal people. So literally can’t pay for a crossing (the whole point of the app)

### 1/5 — Absolute rubbish!

*2025-12-19, version 2.0.7*

Abysmal app that simply doesn’t work. Trying to pre-pay for a crossing is impossible- you’re asked how many crossings you want, enter a number, and get an error saying “Price must be greater than 0”. Eh?

Even logged in, with my registration details stored, I have to keep entering my reg when prompted, only to be told that the number is registered to another account - yes … me!

Total waste of time.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work can’t add credit!

*2025-12-18, version 2.0.7*

What a load of bull, can’t add money to account, can’t pay for crossings and always comes up showing error codes. Waste of time.

### 1/5 — Rubbish - Can’t make payments

*2025-12-18, version 2.0.7*

New update will not allow me to make payments. Nothing works.

### 1/5 — Autopay stopped working and app not working

*2025-12-16, version 2.0.7*

Used to have auto pay come out of the bank and topped up my card regularly through the app too, but now it just keeps saying error. I tried in the web browser and just keeps saying error, I tried online chat and they said call a number, I called the number but they’re not open!!!

I know I’m going to get a fine for their stupid system not working it’s pathetic

### 1/5 — Wanting to impose fines

*2025-12-14, version 2.0.7*

I’d leave 0 stars if possible, this company are now not addressing the fact that you can’t add a bank card to automatically pay for crossings, this leaves me to believe they want you to default which enables them to issue a penalty. Been like this for months. I’ve called them on multiple occasions and they really aren’t interested.

### 1/5 — UI

*2025-12-12, version 2.0.7*

The latest update’s UI is a big step backward—it’s noticeably worse than the previous version.

### 1/5 — New update still not fixed app

*2025-12-11, version 2.0.7*

Hit with white screen, stupid why does it have to be so hard to pay?

### 1/5 — Not fit for purpose

*2025-12-08, version 2.0.6*

Went from being a great app where I could add credit now rubbish, have to ring up to pay . If it’s not broken then leave it alone. It’s easier to avoid toll altogether

### 1/5 — Rubbish.

*2025-12-08, version 2.0.6*

It’s still got to be the worst app ever. Still set up for people to fail then get charged even more. Auto pay doesn’t work since I updated the app luckily enough I noticed I hadn’t had an email confirmation. Trying to pay and just come up with an error but I’m sure the system will work for them when they want to send you a fine. Rubbish, rubbish, rubbish, rubbish….!!!!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Useless

*2026-07-06, version 2.2.0*

Opens to a white screen and nothing else! Same on their website using Apple Safari. Just another way for them to charge you for late payment.

### 1/5 — Garbage

*2026-06-12, version 2.1.3*

Absolute garbage. Can’t log in, can’t change password, can’t access account, app crashes and hangs, telephone people just keep saying nothing wrong with the account and to try in 24 hours (told that 4 times now).

I can’t believe people release apps as awful as this in 2026. My 12 year old could do better.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2026-05-30, version 2.1.3*

Saturday night and I’m trying to pay for a bridge crossing. App just hangs and does nothing at all. Website does the same. Payment page doesn’t load. Useless.

### 1/5 — Cannot open since update !

*2026-05-12, version 2.1.3*

Not sure why this is so poor…

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work

*2026-04-24, version 2.1.2*

Completely useless app. Essentially, can’t pay for a crossing so what is the point of this app?

### 1/5 — Update means it doesn’t work

*2026-04-14, version 2.1.2*

Used to work fine, top up and then crossings are deducted from you balance. Now it just ignores the balance and charges the card.

### 1/5 — Impossible to register

*2026-04-03, version 2.1.1*

Application attempts to send confirmation code email, but never arrives, needs app sorting!

### 1/5 — Awful

*2026-03-20, version 2.0.12*

Absolutely nothing on the app works, how can something that should be so simple, be so poor?

### 1/5 — Rubbish app

*2026-03-10, version 2.0.12*

App Stopped working, can’t check crossings owed, ended up with 2 effing fines, diabolically rude customer services woman, absolutely no help whatsoever, will use the tunnel more now to save giving money to this service and to their wages

### 1/5 — Bad App, Bad Payment System

*2026-02-26, version 2.0.11*

This app is almost useless, and is on the top of a poor payment system which just makes it easy to miss payments innocently- which of course leads to increasing revenue through fines!

The system only allows for pay-as-you go style top-up rather than literal pass through of payment direct to card.
The app doesn’t track crossings if you make them without paying, so the first thing you know is when you are hit by a fine letter.
The app doesn’t allow for tracking/visibility of PCN’s so you can’t see what you’ve been hit with.
The app doesn’t give pop-up notifications for crossings or anything (why???) so you are reliant on catching an email that might be buried in your inbox.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Mercy flow

*2026-07-10, version 2.2.0*

I take it there’s only one mercy flow told to pay I’ve paid for it, but it doesn’t show the bridge. I went over on it.

### 5/5 — Review of review

*2026-05-10*

Ok holding my hands up. It didn’t work and I got a penalty charge because I put my car reg in with a number instead of a letter. Mersey flow looked into it and have been very prompt and very gracious considering it was my error. I’ve re set my details and hope it works next time.

### 5/5 — Surprisingly good

*2024-04-19*

I was prepared for a painful experience just based on reviews. All I wanted was a quick and easy way to pay for the occasional use travelling across the Mersey. This was easy, quick to download, it found my car straight away and took payment via an added card. Couldn’t be easier.

### 5/5 — That’s how you do an update!

*2020-07-18*

So, either they sacked the intern who designed the previous ‘app’ or they took the feedback of users seriously, but either way this is one hell of an upgrade which addresses just about all of the issues with the previous app.

You can now create a profile, add and save your card details, and they’ve even added a new ‘auto-pay’ feature which automatically deducts payments directly from your bank account as you cross.. almost as if we’re in the 21st century!

Seriously though, this has the potential to be a game changer, and make crossing the bridge even easier than using the tunnels.

4 stars for now, just because I haven’t tried it out yet, but potentially a 5 star app - to go from 1 stars to 5 in a single update is quite an achievement.. give that intern a raise!

### 4/5 — Good Service - Missing Features

*2023-08-18, version 1.0.2125*

Works great. Would be good to be able to add multiple vehicles on one profile.

### 3/5 — Can never log on to app

*2025-11-16, version 2.0.5*

Been trying to for days to log on to app i have installed and uninstalled multiple times times. I have prepaid crossings and no idea what i have left. Husband is in same situation but been trying to to log back in for months app is a joke!

### 3/5 — Can’t add more than one vehicle

*2024-07-18, version 1.0.2515*

All fine but would be good if you could add more than one vehicle to your account (like the tunnels) as many households have more than one car and use both.

### 3/5 — Took three attempts to register a card

*2021-10-30*

As others have said, not a very user friendly sign up process. There is no automated pre fill of any field, no Touch ID security or Apple Pay.
It took me three attempts to get it to accept a credit card - the name and address have to be an exact match and with no postcode look up this can be tricky.
However once registered, if you have chosen the ‘autopay’ option the payments for any crossings you have just done go straight through with no further action

### 2/5 — Can’t get in to app

*2025-11-04, version 2.0.4*

Hit with a white screen, need tk pay for crossing

### 2/5 — The App

*2025-06-04, version 1.0.2615*

The app seems to jump around a bit and tends to be quite slow now I can’t sign in?? But when it was working properly it was pretty good
