Completely useless. How about learning from other better apps that are highly rated and stop reinventing the wheel at huge cost to the tax payer. ### 1/5 — Worse than useless *2024-11-27, version 5.163* Departures feature makes up trains that don’t exist, but you only realise this once you’re at the platform. When trying to plan a trip from West Kirby to Liverpool by bus the app estimates it will take 5+ hours and ends the route in Bolton! ### 1/5 — App no longer works says no trips found *2024-01-21, version 5.163* Additional i type in locations in Sefton and it’s Displaying results outside Liverpool national locations no good to me addresses . The App is unusable it just reads no trips found . I would advise you to type in Efa journey planner on a browser may have more luck . Uninstall app Was working fine in December 2023 . Now when I put in times to and from says “no trips found” there are clearly issues not just with the app their Efa journey planner website too so it may be connected once fixed I’m sure normal service will resume . ### 1/5 — Rubbish *2024-01-04, version 5.163* Integrated transport system like the one in London. A difficult thing to achieve. Start with the achievable! An app that can at least find the bus routes that pass your house. This is a poor app that can’t find the obvious and brings up national locations instead. Maybe ask the people who designed the TFL app. ### 1/5 — Rubbish *2023-02-03, version 5.115* This app is ment to tell you the bus schedule, but all the times are wrong, what's funny is Merseytravel also do the timetable at the bus stops which is also wrong, don't get this app it will frustrate you with how bad it is , but the apps poor standard perfectly matches Merseytravel. ### 2/5 — Good for finding out what bus you need but… *2022-10-23, version 5.115* App came in handy when I was in need of a bus home from an area I’ve not been to before. However, working out and planning your journey is another matter. I have waited for buses stated as due but never came, also have sat waiting for a bus due in 25 mins only to find that the app has missed out buses going to same place due sooner. ### 2/5 — Removed most useful feature *2022-02-09, version 5.88* Only a few months ago this would have been 5 stars but degrading to 2 because it lost its most useful feature (at least on my iPhone 6)…showing you where you were on a map. It’s all well and good saying change at such a place but in the pitch black in an unfamiliar area the route tracker showed you how close you were. Now…nothing. ### 2/5 — Bus times lack accuracy *2019-11-22, version 4.2.6* I like the app for being able to plan a route etc. As for tracking departure, the tracking facility seems to be widely different to 1, what the companies use, and 2, the times the busses actually turn up. ### 1/5 — Awful ‘upgrade’ *2019-04-17, version 4.2.6* Like many others, I find this upgrade has ruined the app. The ‘my location’ and lots of info both sacrificed for .... well, I don’t know what! Rely on the app and you will b waiting in the freezing cold for a bus that will not turn up when expected. DO NOT RELY ON THIS APP IT US RUBBUSH! ### 1/5 — Worthless *2018-06-07, version 4.2.6* Takes an age to to plan anything and just can’t seem to customise it to preferred routes so instead of picking the best route it’ll give one with umpteen bus, rail and walks. Thought it would be better than downloading timetables but unfortunately not ### 2/5 — Merseytravel *2018-04-10, version 4.2.6* Timetables an be inaccurate,not sure if they are ever updated, but don’t appear to be as my local route has been wrong for around a year,not what you need for a timetable app! ### 1/5 — Upgrade Disaster *2018-02-19, version 4.2.6* This used to be an excellent app but the latest upgrade is a disaster. Instead of defaulting to My Location as it used to - you now have to select My Location from a list. Most inconvenient. Also much fewer departures are now shown. Please revert to the previous version. ### 1/5 — Version 4.2.6 is unusable! *2018-01-31, version 4.2.6* Have loved using previous versions of this app but not anymore. This version is hopeless! Instead of just opening the app and it immediately finding your location and showing nearby departures, you know have to select ‘my location’ from a list before the app will do anything. When you’ve finally worked that out, you are then left with a yellow box covering half the screen, allowing only 3 departure times to be displayed at the bottom!!! I have never seen such a disaster of an ‘upgrade’! Please bring back version 3 and stop trying to be so clever: it’s not working! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Terrible *2026-01-13, version 5.163* Omits many buses even though they are running on time. Particularly the number 78. Also the latest error is to suggest the 78 bus will take 26 minutes to go one stop from Montclair to Loreburn . It takes ONE minute! It also suggests walking 15 minutes to a bus stop when the nearest bus stop is 3 minutes away. Utterly useless. Sack the IT people and get someone in who knows what they are doing. ### 1/5 — Not the official App *2025-07-13, version 5.163* This is not the official App. Just used it and had the correct platform but wrong schedule and wrong direction of travel. Missed my train by 2 minutes and had to eat half an hour for a train going in the correct direction. Not only that but it omits certain buses from the schedule of potential journeys that are appropriate for the traveller. Anyways I started leggin it and then a cheese box just swooped up Obvly by this time I phoned r kid and told him to pick me up but he was doing George in Scotland so he couldn't get me to I ended up by aigbuth maccies & I rang a delta but I was black listed for oweing a score to them so I downloaded this Merseytravel app and it told me a bus was coming in 1 min so I got on and while I was on the bus I seen 2 undercover Hyundais going past so I just knew tonight I wasn't getting nicked but I was going to have a hazey bug head in rs thanks to this app ### 5/5 — BOSS APP *2015-05-06, version 3.0.20141010* great app that is really helpful if there is no tilt able in the bus stop. Much more convenient too, would highly recommend people to download it. ### 5/5 — Marvellous *2014-09-03* What a great app! thank you for producing the app, has made using public transport in Liverpool so much easier. The app has never crashed for me and I use it every day (numerous times). The three thing would make the app even better, in my opinion; -A “via” section on the trip search- for example it may be better for me to use a certain bus route or train, rather than using the default one selected by the app (which likes to go via the city centre at times, as in theory that is the quickest route, apart from in rush hour)- can make planning a journey with connections trickier- as you have to split the journey manually through your own preferred route (due to frequency of the buses, or more reliable services). - Saved searches for trips- i know it has favourites for locations- but not journeys, but that would save two steps. - Integrate the map with apple maps, so it is more interactive and searches can be done on the map- rather than copying and pasting the street names into Apple maps. Regardless this app is a Godsend. Thanks you once again. ### 4/5 — Bring back the older version *2017-03-19, version 3.2* It worked much better ### 4/5 — Needs regular updates *2017-02-28, version 3.2.20150910* The app says the bus I need comes at 8 after; the sign at the stop says 18 after and that's when the bus arrives so I have to add 10 minutes onto the departure time showing n the app which invalidates the times of any connections and negates the usefulness of this app. Plus the routes change but not on the app. Needs regular updates. Please! ### 3/5 — Journey planner, not timetables *2016-08-14, version 3.2.20150910* This does include all forms of transport and it works well. There are two options: trips (typical journey planner using start and finish points) and departures (where you enter a start point and a time and it gives you all nearby departures). What you don't seem to be able to do is access the timetables directly, e.g. search for a particular bus route. Merseytravel produce very clear PDF timetables with maps and in some circumstances it's that quick overview you want in order to plan a journey, without having to enter specific times and locations. ### 2/5 — Hit and Miss *2024-12-20, version 5.163* This could be a very good app if the information was upto date and accurate. For a local app it keeps throwing locations up around the country, locations should just be focused on the LCR boundary and services. I hope it improves as it has the potential to be really useful. ### 2/5 — Trips feature unusable *2023-12-29, version 5.163* This is a shame, as an app for travel in the city would be useful, but the trips feature just doesn’t work. It didn’t recognise several Liverpool postcodes, and when I entered the street names for those places instead it gave me options across the country.
