## What is mesa recipes?

Stop searching for recipes. Start cooking for your people.

mesa is the meal planning app that learns who you actually cook for — for tables of every size. Every allergy, every preference, every schedule shapes every recipe you see.
Built for your household, not an algorithm.

Tell mesa about everyone at your table — Maya's dairy allergy, Daniel's vegetarian Tuesdays, the partner away Thursday. Every recipe gets filtered, scaled, and customized to fit. Cooking for two tonight and ten on Sunday? Same library, portioned automatically.

A week of dinners in five minutes.
Tap "plan my week" and mesa ai drafts a schedule from who's home each night, what's in your cookbook, and what you've been eating lately. Approve it, swap any meal, or hand parts back to redo. Leftovers slot into tomorrow with one tap.

Plan the meals that matter to you.
Dinner every night, or breakfast and lunch too — you choose which meals mesa plans, and on which days. Kids eating earlier, or eating something different? Plan two meals for the same night and mesa treats them as one cooking job instead of two.

Eating patterns, recognized and respected.
Low-FODMAP, Lactose-Free, Low-Oxalate, Low-Purine, Low-Residue and Gluten-Free can be selected per person, alongside allergies and foods you'd rather avoid. Recipes that may not fit are shown with a clear note about what's in them — never quietly removed — and where a food has a published tolerable serving, mesa shows the amount.

A sous chef in your pocket.
Ask mesa ai for a quick weeknight dinner or something to use up the chicken before it turns — and it draws on the recipes you've already saved, not just ours. Make any recipe gluten-free, swap the protein, scale it for two, and mesa rewrites it.

Hands-free in the kitchen.
Big readable type for messy hands, per-step ingredients, timers that call themselves out. Say "Hey Siri, next step" — your phone stays on the counter. On iPad, the whole step list sits beside the step you're on, with your week and grocery list a panel away.

Included with your mesa subscription:
• mesa ai chat — generate and adapt any recipe
• Whole-week meal planning with smart leftovers
• Breakfast, lunch, and dinner planning, on the days you want it
• Per-person preferences, allergies, health diets, and portion scaling
• Separate meals for kids and grown-ups on the same night
• Grocery lists that build themselves from your meal plan
• Instant sync across every device and everyone in the household
• Recipe import from photos, PDFs, screenshots, the web, and the share sheet
• Stored privately on Apple's iCloud — no extra accounts, no tracking

Subscription details
Monthly ($4.99) and annual ($49.99). One subscription covers your whole household — no per-person fees. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the period ends. Manage or cancel anytime in App Store settings.

A note on diets and food safety
mesa is a finder, not a medical service. It labels recipes against recognized eating patterns so you can find options faster. It does not recommend any diet, and turning one on does not mean mesa considers it safe or right for you — that is a decision for you and your healthcare team. Diet labels and age-related food-safety notes are approximate and based on a recipe's ingredients, not lab analysis. Confirming that a recipe and its amounts fit your needs is up to you, with your care team or dietitian. Definitions draw on published guidance from recognized medical bodies, listed in the app. Mesa does not diagnose, treat, or give medical or nutritional advice. If you have a food allergy, a medical condition, or a question about what's right for you or your child, talk to a qualified professional.

Your kitchen. Your table. Whoever's at it tonight.

### 5/5 — Game changer. 11/10 recommend!

*2026-04-12*

It sounds cliche, but trust me: Mesa recipes is the best app I’ve downloaded in a very long time. It completely changed my relationship with cooking, in a way I never thought possible. Now it feels enjoyable and worth it. No other app is dialed in to what people ACTUALLY want, the way this app is.

Every Mesa generated recipe has fit all of my household’s needs, down to every detail, and tasted remarkably good (truly, 100% of them). I’ve even used this for a few dinner parties now. The personalized meal planning feature is especially a game changer. And the icing on the cake for me: seamlessly importing all of my mom’s handwritten recipes!

If you’ve ever found yourself saying “Ugh I don’t have an air fryer…” or “That definitely did not take 25 minutes” or “My healthy meals don’t really have flavor…” then this is for you.

### 5/5 — BEST APP EVER

As a busy mom of 2 under 3 it can sometimes be a struggle to figure out meals. This is app changed that I can just put in what I already have and ta da I have a recipe without taking a trip to the store.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.4 — 2026-08-06

This is the update that makes mesa fit the way your household actually eats.

mesa on iPad, rebuilt.
A new Home screen opens on what matters right now — tonight's dinner with one tap to start cooking, your week, and what's left to buy. Your week and grocery list now travel with you as a side panel from any tab, so you can plan while you browse. Cooking mode puts the whole step list beside the step you're on.

Dinner isn't the only meal.
If you want mesa to plan breakfast and lunch as well as dinner, you can now turn that on. Set which meals matter on which days — big weekend breakfasts, packed weekday lunches, dinner every night — and mesa plans only what you asked for. Leave it off and nothing changes.

Two dinners, one night.
Kids eating earlier or eating different? You can now plan more than one meal for the same night — the grown-ups' dinner and the kids' — and mesa keeps them as one cooking job rather than two. Enter a child's age and mesa also badges age-relevant food-safety guidance from AAP, USDA, FDA and CDC materials on any recipe that calls for it. It badges; it never hides.

Eating patterns, recognized and respected.
Low-FODMAP, Lactose-Free, Low-Oxalate, Low-Purine, Low-Residue and Gluten-Free can now be selected per person. Recipes that may not fit are shown with a clear note about what's in them — never quietly removed — and where a food has a published tolerable serving, mesa shows the amount so you can check your own portion. mesa can also suggest a swap that brings a recipe back in line. Diet definitions draw on published guidance from recognized medical organizations, and every source is listed in the app.

mesa ai finally knows your cookbook.
"Help me pick a dish" and "Quick weeknight" now run the same planner behind Plan My Week, and they draw on the recipes you've saved — not just ours. They also account for what's already on your week, so you don't get four chicken dinners in a row.

A cookbook you can navigate.
The cookbook opens on a map of what you actually have — by protein, by course, by cuisine — instead of one endless grid. Heart the recipes you come back to and filter to just those.

More you'll notice:
• A "tonight" card on the iPhone meal plan with everything that night needs in one place
• Timers that ring through silent mode and Focus (iOS 26)
• Widgets that follow the time of day, and let you rate a meal without opening the app
• Recipe import straight from the share sheet, anywhere in iOS
• Handoff and Siri Suggestions for a cooking session in progress
• Adventurousness and effort dials in your flavor profile
• Occasional tips that point out features you haven't tried, and stop once you have

Under the hood.
Another reliability pass on household sync, including a fix where two people rating the same meal could each overwrite the other's tally. Plus a long list of smaller corrections across planning, groceries and cooking mode.

Thank you for cooking with mesa.

### 1.3 — 2026-06-30

This is the update that makes every recipe yours.

Make any recipe yours.
Recipes now can adapt to you. Even after making your recipes, you will be able to swap proteins and change up whether you want brown rice or quinoa or no rice.

Plan My Week, now instant.
We've updated it to work even faster so you can plan your whole week without interrupting your busy schedule.

A kitchen worth browsing.
Discover is now the mesa kitchen — one branded place to explore, with a personalized trio and editorial collections that change through the week. New "Cook with what you have" lets you search by the ingredients already in your fridge.

Allergies and foods to avoid, together.
We are introducing the ability to tell us which foods you avoid in general so that we can provide you with even better recipes for your table.

More you'll notice:
• Day Combos (BETA): cook multiple dishes on the same night on one interleaved timeline, make-ahead and preheat aware
• Feedback history on every recipe with an at-a-glance thumbs tally
• Make-ahead "Plan ahead" callouts and clearer total-versus-active times
• Volume-to-grams toggle for baking
• iPad now matches iPhone for cookbook, groceries, and meal plan — plus pull-to-refresh and right-click menus
• Smarter recipe import from links, text, and photos
• Differentiate the version of a recipe for today vs the one in your cookbook (because who wants a recipe for 12 when you're cooking for 2?)

Under the hood.
A major reliability pass on household sync: faster recovery after a reinstall, cleaner handling when someone leaves or hands off a household, and far fewer stuck states. A bunch of changes to make your subscription go farther. Plus subscription reliability fixes and dozens of smaller polish items across the app.

Thank you for cooking with mesa.

### 1.2 — 2026-05-07

Combos - We all love making a complete dinner with our best entrees and sides pairing together. Combos helps you by creating combined cooking steps so your meal is ready to plate together. Please note this feature is in beta phase.
Bug fixes.
Under the hood improvements to mesa ai and From the Mesa Kitchen.

### 1.1 — 2026-04-26

Our biggest update yet. Everything in mesa got smarter, faster, and more personal.

Meet your household taste profile.
A new radar across six dimensions — spice, umami, sweetness, richness, freshness, adventure — built from the meals you've actually cooked. Unlocks after five meals, names your kitchen's personality ("The Bold Kitchen," "The Savory Kitchen"), and shares beautifully to Instagram. Per-member profiles quietly steer mesa ai toward what everyone home tonight actually likes.

Plan My Week, reimagined.
Pick cooking days from a 7-day calendar. Pin specific recipes for days you already know about. Reuse a past week that worked. Swap previews now show three alternatives instead of replacing automatically — and every card tells you why mesa picked it.

Rate meals from your widget.
Thumbs up or down from the Home Screen — no app launch. The next morning's widget surfaces last night's dinner with a quick action menu: add notes, improve it, remove it, done.

More you'll notice:
• Staples drawer for your household's most-used grocery items, ranked by how often you add them
• Cost calibration — a weekly "what did you actually spend?" prompt that tunes cost estimates across the app
• Weekly nutrition card in the Who's Home sheet
• "Why this recipe?" reasoning on every mesa ai suggestion
• Follow-up chips: "Make it spicier," "Faster version," "What sides pair?"
• Decline a suggestion with a reason — mesa learns and retries smarter
• Weekly planning reminders with streak tracking
• Full household backup and restore to a file you own
• Dynamic Island and Live Activity polish: no more orphaned pills, no more collapsed titles

Rebuilt our sync engine for under the hood improvements.

Thank you for cooking with mesa.
