Definitely worth a try. Not every meet up is as fun as you might hope, but after 3-5 you will definitely have met some people who have similar interests and good starting place to meet new people when you are new to the area. **Developer response:** You are the best : ) I would totally agree that we're not perfect, but when you show up, you start to see a pattern of how awesome people are around you. It’s also a great way to learn about local coffee shops. ### 5/5 — Try it. *2026-04-04* I live in the Madison area, which I learned today at my first Mesh, is where this app originated. I moved here a few months ago and I work from home, and as I’m well into middle age and single, meeting new people is really difficult. Admittedly it took me a long time to try it, but I’m really glad I did. It IS organized, and people DID show up, it felt completely safe, and I had a nice chat over coffee with lovely new folks. I guess people go regularly and you start to see people again and again in different meets, which signals to me that in the long run, this is trying to build a community. I also feel like the pricing is reasonable - I’m investing in connectivity with other people IRL, and ultimately my own mental health. When I think about all the other things we spend money on, when I put it in that perspective, it’s worth it. Mesh night was absolutely amazing and can’t wait for the next one. (Updated review as of 12/13/25) This is my 3rd doing a mesh meet. And I fell in love with the app! It’s amazing meeting new people with similar interests as mine! But also going to new coffee shops in my area. Mesh in general has been such a good way to meet people and check out new coffee shops - the meetups are casual, low-stakes ways to meet neat people and the easy opt-in or -out each week makes it so simple to pause or restart as I’m feeling like. I’ve found so many neat places and had eye opening (in a good way!) conversations with people I would not have otherwise connected with thanks to Mesh! **Developer response:** You are so kind!! thanks for giving us a try-- we're so glad that trial run of Mesh night at the arcade bar was successful! I found out about Mesh through social media and liked that it automatically generated groups of people and already set a meet up location for me- all i have to do is show up ! Its a great way to meet new people and also try out new coffee shops in the area. I’d highly recommend it to other people like me- new grads, new to the area, and trying to meet new people. The founders are very approachable and There are some minor technical issues hut I can easily share feedback to improve use of the app. Sometimes people dont show up, which is a bummer but its great chatting with the ones that do! **Developer response:** Thanks you so much for the honest review : ) it always makes us happy when people leave us feedback-- sorry about some of the technical bugs-- we are implenting some better code reviews to try and limit those-- but as mentioned text us on our support number or email-- and we'll get that fixed (usually we respond with in 5 minutes but we do occasionally sleep) Congratulations on graduation-- that's actually awesome! Mesh turned out to be the best way to do that. I’ve met many people using Mesh and now we hang out outside of Mesh sessions. While you never know who are you going to meet, Mesh provides a safe, low-stakes way of meeting new people and getting out of your shell. The second week I was grouped with two people from the first week! Ridiculous. And I hadn’t even vibed with them. Maybe there’s nobody in my age bracket. Plus the app sent me to coffee shops on the opposite side of town, even though many are closer It seems like the concept is still rather primitive. ### 1/5 — Buggy and predatory *2025-05-14, version 4.1.2* Buggy from the jump, I should not have proceeded to sign up for an account. Now I can’t delete my account as the action never competes. Seems unsafe to me. Ridiculous! ### 2/5 — Good idea on paper, poor experience so far *2024-08-10* This app is an excellent idea…but my experiences haven’t been the best. I’ve had the same location four times in the last five weeks and each time it has given me only two other people in the group. Once it was both people not making it which leaves just me and twice only one other person showed up. I understand stuff happens so no hate there, but it makes one-on-one sessions kinda awkward and that’s not the vibe I want from this app. Meanwhile, my friends have had new locations every week and have had full groups. I could just be unlucky, but so far the app hasn’t been that great for me. They also imply a penalty for no-showing but they don’t talk about what the penalty is. **Developer response:** I'm so sorry that is not the kind of experience we aim to provide with Mesh! We have made some big overhauls that address people no showing. You now have to place a hold in order to confirm your attendance for the week. We also have updated our algorithm and you should now more variety in locations. Also if you are a premium user you get an additional 3 locations that you are invited to in a week. Also, the pricing is inaccurate. It says $6.99 for one event but the $14.99 when I try to purchase. $15 for one event seems very expensive. ### 4/5 — General vibes *2026-06-22, version 4.7.5* I would have given it a five stars if there weren’t so many flakey people that join this app. Fortunately most of the people are pretty chill but also definitely join the hosted Mesh nights because you get freebies 😊 ### 4/5 — Love the concept *2026-03-29* This app is a great opportunity to meet people in the area, especially as someone who just moved cities! My only complaint is that you get only one free pass to join a coffee meetup. The first group I joined was a flop, so when I saw that I have to pay/get a membership to join a second meetup, it discouraged me from continuing. I think there should be more free passes starting out for a person to get a good feel if they want to continue using the app. **Developer response:** Really appreciate you giving us a try! (the first one is free and then check out the referral page in the app for more info beyond that) so sorry about the first one being a flop. I've attended 3 mesh coffee events so far and really enjoyed the conversations, so I conclude that the algorithm must be pretty sophisticated to match people up with similar interests and conversation topics. This app allowed me to fill the need to socialize and meet a diverse group of people at various events. I found everyone super welcoming, considerate, and helpful with asking everyone questions to feel included. It feels very easy because everyone is there for the same reason and is open to meeting new people. I like that it’s with a group of people instead of one-on-one. It was a really hard time for me. I tried different friend-making apps like TimeLeft and RealRoots but while they were nice, I didn’t make lasting friends like I did with Mesh. The people I’ve met have been very friendly and welcoming. It’s all I’ve ever wanted and exactly what I was looking for. Definitely recommend anyone to give it a shot. Love the support of local coffee shops and I’ve met some amazing people. Mesh helped me branch out and meet people who I otherwise would not have crossed paths with. Everyone my age feels so locked into their routine. I have made some wonderful new friends through Mesh, and every event brings - at the very least - a fun conversation where I get to meet people outside my circle and learn a little more about other corners of the world around me. It has completely changed my outlook on socialization.
