And the map no longer shows range circles (EDIT: give them time to show up). Minor thing: the node list no longer had a total number of nodes at the top just “…” where apparently a 4 digit total no longer can fit. Tip: drag the edge of the node list and you can make it bigger to show the number. Can’t control the grouping, can’t unfurl a list of notifications without selecting one. Can’t control them via watch app. Can’t decide to turn on notifications for certain things (DMs versus Channel versus New Node detected); I don’t need a notification on my watch every time I detect a node; but would like one for a DM. ### 3/5 — Bug report *2026-06-27, version 2.7.15* Environmental telemetry over mesh is patchy, sometimes it shows up most the time it doesn’t. This latest update is chock full of bugs though. Map keeps recentering to South Pacific Ocean. Incoming messages don’t update unless I back out and back into channel. I’m using a 12 pro. ### 1/5 — Unstable *2026-06-09, version 2.7.12* Meshtastic is a nice project, but the app itself is very unstable. The iOS client is a disgrace and, frankly, somewhat shameful. Connection hangs, disconnects, and crashes are typical over BLE, and the same applies to Wi-Fi. I tested it with two different nodes and various firmware versions. The issue seems to be exclusively related to the codebase of this specific app. ### 1/5 — Swift UI picker *2026-06-08, version 2.7.12* I will update this to five stars as soon as this gets fixed; I have an HELTEC LoRa32 v4. Actually I have three of them because I want the touchscreen. But it's really hard to access a lot of the settings on the touchscreen. However the iOS keeps having a picker error. There's no tag. Or it's looking for a tag that doesn't exist. Volunteer work is hard I get it I ran a 501 C3 that I started. But instead of adding new features let's just get something a little bit stable for a while. I get it android is better, honestly I do. The closed ecosystem of Apple is a pain in the butt but the reality is, a lot of people use it. So going from a firmware that doesn't connect to any nodes at all (2.7.15) and upgrading to the recommended firmware 2.7.20+ (using 2.7.24) and having the channels constantly crash out or changed so that I can't communicate reliably doesn't help the project more than a bad review does. And like other users have said even though it's volunteer when something is submitted on GitHub if it's an easy fix, and I don't know if this is or not, but it seems like stability should be prioritized over features. Functionality should be prioritized ### 1/5 — Just an embarrassment compared to the Android version *2026-05-29, version 2.7.12* I recently switched from an android to an apple device and what a mistake that was for using Meshtastic. This thing has duplicate nodes when they even bother to load right. Doesn’t show the right channels when I switch from my car radio to my house radio. I have to close and reopen the app all the time. Bluetooth is unreliable. So many things in this iOS app just don’t even work right. Coming from Androids to this disaster is just an embarrassment to the product I loved for so long. No wonder there is a max exodus to the competitor. I’m not there yet but I’m close. How does something with so many bugs make it to the App Store? Don’t give me the community supported excuse. The Android folks know how to get it done right. This is a lack of leadership and direction on the iOS product. Time for a change and that’s whoever drives this iOS product. It’s you, not me. How can I possibly recommend this embarrassment to a friend? You should be ashamed. ### 1/5 — Have to keep closing the app to load right *2026-05-27, version 2.7.12* Recently switched to an iPhone. The Android version was much much much better. Have to constantly close it to get conversations channels to show up right and to get rid of the duplicated nodes when I switch from my car to my house node. This didn’t happen on the android version. It acts like it saves my settings but doesn’t. Connecting to Bluetooth is a pain when I have a bag signal to my car from my living room. This is bad. If you’re new to the mesh LoRa technology, think of it a little bit like walkie talkies but instead of talking, you text, and texts can be encrypted and sent over private groups (similar to group chats on a phone).
