MeshCore is far more robust than Meshtastic and if it was built on MeshCore. I would give it five stars, even if some of the features don’t work well.  I had two Meshtastic nodes that were in the same room that could not send pictures or voice or text messages even at the least between two devices properly configured. This is just the inherent issues with Meshtastic. Absolutely fantastic app and absolutely worth the money. Just wish that it was built on either reticulum or Meshcore.

Like many meshtastic apps it has finicky connections and sometimes thats the device not the app.  Will update this review after using it more.  Hoping the app truly doesnt collect data anywhere and the app store listing pertains to just the nature of meshtastic rather than such data being stored or retained remotely anywhere.

Doesn’t seem to say which license the app itself is and likely a violation of meshtastic’s GPL3 encode/decode of protobuf.

- Normal Updates (5 minutes) — saves battery, best for stationary relay nodes and casual location sharing. Free for all users.

- Fast Updates (30 seconds) — real-time tracking for SAR, tactical teams, and hiking groups. Detailed trail recording. Responsive MeshFence alerts. Premium feature.

Find it in Settings → Position Updates. Your node briefly restarts to apply the change (about 10 seconds), then reconnects automatically.

Android users: the Position Updates section is visible in this release but tapping the presets shows a "coming soon" message. Full Android support arrives in the next update.

Coming in v1.2: MQTT Client Proxy for staying connected to your home mesh from anywhere, and smoother auto-reconnect after node restarts.
