### 4/5 — Disappointed

The app will no longer show full screen on iPad.

### 5/5 — THE weather app for Oklahoma

*2020-09-18, version 2.0.3*

If you live in Oklahoma, this needs to be your weather app. I can’t wait for an update so we get an iOS 14 Home Screen widget.

### 5/5 — Best Weather App for Okies!

*2020-08-24, version 2.0.3*

Update Jan 25 2020:
I completely forgot to update my review when the maps started working again! Thank you developer for replying to my review. Everything has been working perfectly for a while now and I love it.

With all the trash weather apps like WeatherBug and Weather Channel our there that exist to blast you with advertisements and collect and sell your data, it’s so wonderful to have a powerful alternative for free!

This does all the basics well, temp, forecasts, radar, etc. BUT, where this app (and website) really shine are all the other tools and maps you have access to.

Also, if you’re not reading The Ticker from Mesonet, you’re doing it wrong. The most hilarious and accurate weather summaries you can get, with a dose of education on how weather and climate work and affect us.

### 5/5 — I LOVE IT!!!!❤️❤️

*2020-04-15, version 2.0.3*

I love how this app is free. And you don’t have to pay for anything! Radar is great, forecast is correct from past days, and the different maps are cool!!!❤️❤️

### 5/5 — One of my go to weather apps

*2020-01-23, version 2.0.3*

Best place to find the true local weather. Great radars and maps. The ticker is a must read. Lots of great information. Keep up the good work!

### 5/5 — The go to app for Oklahoma weather.

*2020-01-23, version 2.0.3*

Super simple to read and use. The extended forecast really helps as does the hourly. Glad we have this! Great work.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2020-01-22, version 2.0.3*

This is a must have app if your into the weather and live in Oklahoma. Great for monitoring passing storms and the weather conditions in various parts of the state.

### 4/5 — Like the App

*2019-12-11, version 2.0.2*

As of this morning, App barely opens and immediately crashes. Cannot open.

### 5/5 — RandyMilam

*2019-07-04, version 2.0.2*

My best new accurate weather app ever !!!

### 5/5 — Maps Page Crashes App

*2019-06-26, version 2.0.2*

I have always liked and used this app, but after updating a few weeks ago to the most recent update, the app crashes when trying to access the Maps page. Tried sending email to developer before doing this review, but no response.

IOS 12.3.1
***Update***
Developer contacted me and advised the fix is to delete the app and reinstall it. That worked and the app is working properly now. Changed rating. This is a 5 star app when working correctly.

### 4/5 — Great App

*2019-01-01, version 2.0.1*

Love this app but on the most recent update, the app crashes when you click on the maps button.

### 5/5 — Update

*2018-12-08, version 2.0.1*

Mesonet is back to full operation. Many Thanks to the support team! TLE

### 3/5 — Update change my opinion

*2018-03-25, version 1.6.3*

I have other apps that give me a list form of the weather. I LOVED the block format that you started with. It was large, clear, and accurate. Just what I needed and was set apart from all the other weather apps by that very feature. I would love to have that back—for a 5 rating.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App crashes every time it’s opened

*2019-11-07, version 2.0.2*

This is my favorite local weather app. But the past couple of months, practically every time I open it, it immediately crashes. I have removed and reinstalled it twice with no improvement.

### 1/5 — Worked well in the past

*2018-09-07, version 1.7.1*

I really like this app but this latest release won’t work. It launches and then dies after 2 to 3 seconds. I am using it on an iPhone 8 on iOS 11.3.

### 1/5 — Broken

*2013-11-17, version 1.3*

Get URL error with iOS 7 update

### 1/5 — Newest Version Mistake

*2013-08-14, version 1.3*

The newest version's radar is a huge step down from the previous version. The newest version radar is GREAT at detecting ground clutter though!

### 2/5 — Confused

*2026-03-12, version 2.6.3*

I really want to like this app but the app has me in Norman Oklahoma and I don’t live in Norman. I live in Tulsa so now I don’t know if I can trust it to be correct when there is severe weather??? If I can’t figure this out or get some sort of solution I’ll be deleting the app

### 2/5 — Buggy

*2019-08-02, version 2.0.2*

Literally the most annoying app on my phone. It can work great for weeks and then it will start crashing every time I open it. If it didn’t have such useful info, I would delete it. Would be nice if the developers spent as much time on the iOS version as the android version.

### 2/5 — Horrible radar ruins app

*2015-03-04, version 1.5.2*

The radar on this thing is awful, I'm not sure why they ever changed it. It is impossible to distinguish what is the actual weather system and what is the gray static on the map even if you adjust the transparency. Very disappointing. The maps are decent though.

### 3/5 — Widgets not working

*2023-04-22, version 2.2.1*

When I add a widget, it shows up for Norman as the location. I live in Guthrie and don't need Norman weather.

### 3/5 — App not opening

*2019-11-11, version 2.0.2*

Lately the app will not open on my iPhone. I am running the latest iOS. I tap on the app and I briefly get the opening screen then it goes away. Other than that it’s a great app, when it opens.

### 3/5 — Crashing

*2019-04-10, version 2.0.1*

App refuses to stay open. Click the app then crashes after 0.3 seconds.

iPhone 8 Plus with iOS 12.2

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Exceptionally well done

*2026-01-14, version 2.6.3*

I have used the app for several years now. Great tool for any framer to backyard gardeners.

### 5/5 — Best Wx App!

*2025-10-19, version 2.6.2*

Very quality app if you are just wanting to know what your week day forecast is and maybe you are more of a weather enthusiast that likes to look into the synoptics of things. It’s good for beginners and experts! Not to mention extremely accurate information as it is derived from the amazing Mesonet stations all over the state! Seriously a high quality app!

### 5/5 — Nice redesign

*2025-09-19, version 2.6.0*

Love the ios26 redesign

### 5/5 — A Must Have

*2025-06-12, version 2.5.4*

For veteran Okies, this app has to be on your phone. Is it the prettiest? No. Does it have endless widgets? No (wish it did have more though). This is the app you go to for every kind of weather info you need or want. I love the fact I can see cumulative rain info, comfort info for human and animals, soil data, wind data and much more. The radar isn’t anything to phone home about as it’s very blocky due to low resolution but I have My Radar installed for that. I have out maneuvered many a storm with this and My Radar with extreme accuracy while out working. The ticker is an excellent source of info as well. Thank you for this awesome app. As long as I’m alive my phone will always have this installed.

### 5/5 — 🌪️ Love My Meso!!! 🌪️

*2024-05-23, version 2.4.0*

My favorite weather app! Living in twister alley we have to keep our guard up! Packed full of great info! Soil conditions, animal comfort!
Agricultural and historic information updated daily!
"The Ticker", a must read daily!😍
Had this on my phone for over 10 yrs!
Trust the folks at NWS! Easy to navigate and check conditions all over Oklahoma! It's FREE! Check It Out!

### 5/5 — My favorite weather app since it began

*2024-05-06, version 2.4.0*

I’m pretty sure back in the day before the internet these same guys shared weather data via modem. I used to use it. Anyway, I have used this app since the beginning, and to this day it’s my most used and most accurate weather app. Mostly because it’s not filled with flash, but instead it’s packed with as much accurate weather data as you can handle. Lots of environmental things too like soil temperature etc. There’s also the “Ticker”, which I read every time we have bad weather coming. There are prettier apps that forecast weeks or months ahead, and there are better radar apps. But these guys are the source, and they know we can’t forecast that far out.

### 5/5 — Very useful and unique resource

*2023-07-13, version 2.2.1*

This is the first source I’ve found for historical, local weather records. Today’s forecast, precipitation rates, etc. are interesting but not sufficient if you depend on data like rainfall accumulations.
Due to the distance from their nearest collection station, I might see some difference between my rain gauge and their reports but over the course of say, thirty days, they provide useful data useful for managing our pastures, ponds, pecan trees, etc.
Thank you and keep up the good work!

### 5/5 — Amazing weather tool!!

*2022-03-11, version 2.1.0*

The Oklahoma Mesonet is extremely unique and amazing! The breadth of weather data covered and available to Oklahomans (and non-Oklahomans), for free (basically) is probably not matched anywhere on the internet. And I have tried to find an equal to it. Lol
Also, the Tickers are some of the best weekly weather data summaries/comedies that could be written or read. Check them out as well as all the weather data that is recorded and reported.

Bravo Mesonet team!

### 5/5 — Required app for Oklahomans

*2021-09-14, version 2.0.3*

Absolutely the first app I install on everything, OCS built an amazing weather network and a great, FREE app to interface with. Best thing to come out of Oklahoma since Woody Guthrie

### 5/5 — Great app!!

*2021-03-10, version 2.0.3*

Highly recommend! Would love to see an Apple Watch app as well as a widget added for iOS!
