This used to be my favorite go-to app to make memes. The issues were so bad that I had to start using other apps. I just tried to make a meme using a downloaded video from YouTube, something I’d done a hundred times before…and now they’ve put it behind a paywall. That’s the straw that broke the camel’s back for me. They’ve been delivering subpar service for a lengthy stretch of time, and then they “fix the issues” so they can introduce “improved service” which somehow now justifies making you purchase a subscription. That’s going to be it for me. It’s not that the $5 monthly price or even yearly price would really hurt me financially, it’s more the principle. Everywhere you look businesses are taking advantage of other business’s greed to start nickel and diming their consumers just because they can, and they expect their users to just take it. If it makes you feel any better I’ve let go of other subscription services raising prices too, but those places already had subscriptions to begin with. They didn’t have a broken product for months on end, then put it back the way it was supposed to be in the first place and then say, “Now you gotta pay for me cleaning up my own mistake.” Good luck to you all, but this was a terrible choice at a time where people are getting taken advantage of left and right by businesses wanting to cash in on their consumers. You may make a few extra dollars now, but your loyal longtime users may decide to leave just like I’m doing. ### 1/5 — The app keeps on freezing *2022-09-25, version 4.04* Keeps freezing ### 1/5 — Doesn’t work DONT waste your money *2021-12-18, version 4.02* Glitch in app, it cuts the image in half and so you can only see one half of the video. Whenever I upload a video and then try to move it using the move function, it turns the video into a one second gif. It’s bizarre. Not to mention the video loses all its quality when you upload it. The templates are up to date (Chill Guy, Drake, all the usuals) and the editor has enough control when I want to do something custom. Video meme support is a nice bonus.
