## What is Metabyl?

Metabyl: Eat. Move. Rest. Repeat.

You don't need another meal planner. You need a rhythm.

Metabyl is a behavioral rhythm system for metabolic health. Instead of counting calories, tracking macros, or chasing the next diet, you build seven daily behaviors — the small, repeatable habits that quietly compound.

THE DAILY RHYTHM

• Timing — Eat within an hour of waking.
• Meals — Three meals, roughly 5–6 hours apart.
• CLEAN Foods — Mostly whole, minimally processed.
• Protein — Roughly 90g/day, distributed across meals.
• Movement — Move intentionally every day.
• Hydration — Meet your daily water goal.
• Sleep — Protect your sleep.

Hit 6–7 of these and your day is Kept. Hit 4–5 and your day is Mostly Kept. Hit 0–3 and it's a Returning day — no judgment, just an invitation back to rhythm tomorrow.

WHY THIS WORKS

Most apps optimize a single day. Metabyl reinforces a pattern across weeks. Repetition reduces decision fatigue, and decision fatigue — not lack of willpower — is what breaks healthy eating.

WHAT YOU GET

• A daily check-in that takes under a minute.
• A weekly rhythm view that surfaces your patterns at a glance.
• Personalized meal plans aligned to CLEAN food principles.
• Smart shopping lists built around batch prep — cook once, eat twice.
• Insights that read your patterns, not your weight.

BUILT BY A PHYSICIAN

Metabyl was created by Dr. Michael W. Jones, DO, DABOM, FAAFP — a Diplomate of the American Board of Obesity Medicine and Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Every behavior is grounded in clinical evidence, not diet culture.

Behavioral rhythm. Real results.

### 5/5 — Healthy Eating Made Easy

*2026-08-02*

I highly recommend Dr. Mike Jones’ Metabyl app for healthy eating. The menu configuration on the app makes meal planning easy as it does everything for you and takes the boredom (no more ham sandwiches everyday for lunch) out of normal routine meals.

While everyone’s results may vary, some byproducts I’ve experienced is more energy, no bloating, I’ve lost 1.5 pants sizes in 2 weeks and I eat a lot of food on the dictated meals. This truly is a way to eat healthier everyday of your life and not get bogged down by another “diet” that many people including myself notoriously fail at. Please check Metabyl out, it’s worth it.

**Developer response:** Thank you — and the ham sandwich line made me laugh, because that's
exactly the problem I built this to solve. The structure of your week
stays the same so you don't have to think about it, but the food
underneath it shouldn't get boring. What I'm most glad to hear is that
it hasn't felt like another diet to fail at. That was the whole point.

### 5/5 — Simplified CLEAN Eating

*2026-08-02*

Metabyl is an answer to so many desires someone has if they’re looking to live a healthier life. You don’t track what you’re eating, it’s portioned out for you, there’s a recipe bank to look at if you like, you can add your own recipes or use from the generated list. I’ve selected options like my dinner from previous night is the next day’s lunch. You can choose your preferred cuisines, nights you don’t want to cook, keeping your meals as repetitive as you like, cook time preferences, skills level, and more. I like that it generates my grocery list and gives a breakdown with timestamps of prep needed for the week. A wonderful app with a clear purpose for healthy living.

**Developer response:** Thanks Brianne. This is one of the most accurate descriptions of the app
I've read. The dinner-becomes-tomorrow's-lunch piece is the one I care
about most; cooking once and eating twice is what makes a whole week of
this survivable in a real life. Glad the prep breakdown is earning its
keep, and thank you for taking the time to write this out.

### 5/5 — This app has save me!

*2026-02-07*

I am a patient of Dr. Jones for a while and still am. I got rid of my scale and other apps and trust the process. I honestly say I have use Metabyl and I had to buy a new clothes since August. I am a boring eater, chicken every day, but now I eat more than chicken and things I never ate before. Thank you Dr. Jones!

### 5/5 — Game changer

*2025-10-11*

Disclosure: I have been using the app since available (I was on the waiting list for release). I am a patient of Dr. Jones. I see him every 60 days and I take a GLP 1. I titled this “game changer” because it is! The app helps you stay on track and not feel like you are eating chicken breast and salad every day. Set your preference and omission then let it do its thing. Review meal suggestions and swap the meal if you don’t think you will like it. Open shopping list and as you shop, check it off. Pro tip, I am advanced LEVEL cook, but I have four, 10-hour days. Set the cooking level to beginner. You will thank me later. I am looking forward to the upcoming options with the app. Entering the store is still a weakness for me. If we can upload this list to our “cart” it will save going in or typing back from one app to another.

**Developer response:** Thank you so much for taking the time to share this thoughtful review — we’re truly grateful for your support and feedback! We’re thrilled to hear Metabyl has been a “game changer” in helping you stay on track and make meal planning simpler.

We’re right there with you in looking forward to what’s next — our team is actively developing several new features, including grocery delivery integration and our upcoming Pantry View tool to make shopping and meal prep even smoother.

Thank you again for being part of the Metabyl community!

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.7.32 — 2026-08-14

This one is mostly about trusting what the app tells you.

Your shopping list could list the same ingredient twice under two different units — which meant buying it twice. It could also pick up headings out of a recipe ("For the marinade:") and list them as though they were something to buy. Both are fixed, and ingredients written with a preparation note now merge with their plain form instead of taking a second line.

Shopping list sections also stopped reshuffling. Checking an item off no longer moves the headings around underneath you.

On the weekly plan, the days you've already eaten now sit below a clear "Earlier this week" divider instead of appearing to jump backwards in the calendar. They're still there, and still fully editable.

You can now add a note to a meal without replacing it — press and hold any meal and choose "Add a note to this meal" to jot down "bake instead of grill" while keeping the recipe. And on iPad, the ingredients and the instructions scroll independently, so your ingredient list stays in view while you read the method.

Plus: the "Got it" button on the press-and-hold tip now actually dismisses it.

### 2.7.20 — 2026-07-30

A round of iPad layout fixes.

The onboarding step indicator now stays inside the same column as the form beneath it, and its back arrow sits beside the step number instead of on top of it. The medical conditions list lays out in two columns on iPad, so you can reach Continue without scrolling. The name and date-of-birth fields line up with each other.

The story carousel on the offer screen now measures its own container rather than the whole window, so cards fit, swipe one at a time, and the dots track the card you're on — and everything re-measures correctly when you rotate.

### 2.5.3 — 2026-07-23

Fixes an issue that prevented recipe search, meal plans, and recipe
images from generating.

If the app told you something went wrong when you tried to create a
plan or search for a recipe, it will work now.

We're sorry — this one was on us.

### 2.5.2 — 2026-07-13

Release Notes — 2.5.2 (129) — HOTFIX

**Minimal production hotfix off the live 2.5.1 base.** One change only: the
Subscription screen's plan cards are now tappable and actually start a
purchase. A paying customer reported they couldn't tap the Annual plan — the
cards were display-only, so a post-onboarding free user had no way to
subscribe from Profile → Subscription. Confirmed the bug is in live 2.5.1
(longstanding, not a regression).

### 2.5.1 — 2026-06-30

This release is all about reliability — the quiet kind of fixes that keep your data and your calendar behaving exactly as they should.

• Your saved recipes and ratings now stay safe when you use Metabyl across more than one device. We fixed a rare sync timing issue that could drop favorites, so nothing you've saved goes missing.
• Calendar meal events no longer create duplicates, and any duplicate "Metabyl Meals" events from before are cleaned up automatically.
• Meal and prep events on your calendar now update the moment you change your prep day, planning time, or wake time.
• Reminders schedule more reliably when you open the app.

We sweat these details so your rhythm doesn't skip a beat. Thanks for cooking with Metabyl.
