MetaChat is a text-only viewer for all Virtual Worlds based on the OpenSimulator/SecondLife© software for 3D worlds. This is no mobileSL/OpenSim, it is a viewer for mobile devices but it has the same system requirements than any other viewer. I haven’t been able to backup my chat logs or transfer them off the app. Chat logs also seem to delete if they become too large. ### 1/5 — Unusable *2022-07-25, version 1.2.9138* Used to work just fine but now I experience nonstop crashing with the recent updates and have given up on using the app altogether. Hopefully one day a mobile version of SL will be possible, thanks for giving it a try! ### 2/5 — Good start; much, doesn’t work (details below) *2022-07-23, version 1.2.9138* Battery burner: it would be very nice if it would work in the background; rather, logs one out. IMs: A friend can successfully send a message to this app, but a reply from, from it, is not received for upward of 1 hour. I tested this between my PC and smart phone, to be certain. Transfers: I tried sending inventory item between my two accounts (smartphone to PC & vice versa) & was unsuccessful. LMs do, transfer. World Map will not load, apparently, except for tiny map in one corner. ‘Loading…’ never goes away. TP?: Seems, there’s no way to teleport; one is bound to their last location chosen from other app(s). In my humble opinion, the above listed would be, quite possibly, of critical importance. Good start, however. 😉 ### 3/5 — Great to send quick message to friends *2022-02-27, version 1.2.9136* Aside from that, the app really needs to stay logged in when running in the background. The only time is should log out is if you swipe up to force-close the app or intentionally log off. Another idea/request; please fix the above, and also look into an easy way to accept TPs from friends (not sure of this is available; I couldn’t figure it out). An easy way to see your current location would be good too. Update: another good feature would be a way to set status so people know you are not in-world. ### 4/5 — Does everything it says it does *2021-07-20, version 1.2.9132* Nice app. Read the description and you will see all it can do. Great for keeping in touch when away. I used to use Metaverse and this has actually improved upon it. I hope that a future upgrade will give us the ability to open our own profile and edit it. That would boost my rating up one notch. 😊 ### 1/5 — Your “update” fixes nothing on the pc client. *2020-12-02, version 1.2.9118* Despite your update over the acknowledgement of the bakefail, your app has still caused the grievance of not rendering avatars in world when you use firestorm, sl viewer etc. I can’t believe something this archaic exists with problems that only get worse as they “update” I cannot wait for something else to be released.
