They might yank your account and your money is gone. ### 1/5 — Wallet was hacked on iPhone in 2026, Stay Away! *2026-08-07, version 8.4.0* Never gave out my seed phrase, lost a whole lot because of a flaw in a previous version of the app. So here’s how it went, I got a notification that I received $16 and change in BNB to my MetaMask Wallet. This was new to me, I wasn’t using any exchanges, dapps, etc for quite some time. So I figured let me look at my wallet a moment later. When I opened my wallet up, someone now gained access to it. This was a 1st (cleaned me out, so a last as well). The BnB was used to send all of my Binance assets to this persons wallet which began the movement all over the place with my assets. It was almost non human watching it. My wallet was cleared out faster than I could fathom. Now I used to be impressed with MetaMask because of privacy. It’s ease of use with dapps. Metas been around a long time. The ability to add new tokens when something large came out, from ETH, to BNB (which BNB had to be manually added). Which was great for those early pancake swap days. Sadly after I received the $16 in BNB, opened my wallet, it was < 60 seconds that someone gained access to my wallet. Nothing else in or only phone. Just MetaMask. It was surreal to watch, same thing as watching in real time someone draining your debit card. So my suggestion (from someone who’s been doing this a LONG time). MetaMask lost all of my assets. It’s not forgivable. Were they personally responsible (in all honesty who else aside from MetaMask themselves sees all of your data we share with them by downloading their app). Now that’s just a shot in the dark blaming them specifically over their having been hacked. Yet it doesn’t matter. If I had been using a different or better wallet I’d not have lost all of my assets.
