## What is Metaphor Finder?

Ever stopped mid-page at "a pound of flesh"?

Open a browser and you're hit with ads and notifications. Ask a chatbot and a long conversation begins. Either way, the flow of your reading is broken.

Metaphor Finder is an AI dictionary for expressions from literature, the classics, the Bible, mythology, and history. It's a dictionary, not a chatbot: every answer arrives in the same clean format, with exactly as much as you need and nothing more.

CLEAN, DICTIONARY-STYLE ANSWERS
Type an expression and the answer is always structured the same way:
- Headword and source — which work it comes from, and where
- Figurative meaning — what it means in the sentence you're reading
- Origin and background — the story it grew out of
For unfamiliar words, it also lists the senses most often used in books. And when a source is uncertain, the app says so instead of making something up.

FOLLOW-UP SUGGESTIONS
Every answer ends with related expressions to explore next. "The forbidden fruit" leads to "the Garden of Eden" — one question flows naturally into the next.

MY LIBRARY — EVERY SEARCH BECOMES A BOOK
Each expression you look up is shelved as a book spine, organized by field: Bible, mythology, world classics, history. The more you read, the fuller your shelves.

WORD OF THE DAY
Every morning at 8, one expression from your collection comes back to you — so what you looked up once truly becomes yours.

HISTORY, PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Every search is saved automatically, and your history lives only on your device. No account. No login.

MADE FOR YOU IF
- You often pause over unfamiliar allusions in classics and literary fiction
- You want a tidy, dictionary-style answer instead of a rambling chatbot reply
- You'd love to turn the expressions you meet while reading into a personal word collection
- You're curious about the roots of idioms that came from the Bible and mythology

GOOD TO KNOW
- 5 free searches a day; watch a short ad to add 5 more
- Available in English and Korean
