## What is Metchr?

You know the feeling: you’re up for doing something, but there’s no one around to join you. The court is open, but you’re missing a fourth player. You’re ready to cook, but have no one to cook with. That’s exactly what METCHR is for.

Just say what you’re in the mood for—golf, tennis, padel, cooking together, or a spontaneous night out in your city. Other locals nearby see your post and reach out if they’re up for the same thing. No endless back-and-forth, no group chat chaos, no "maybe I'll come."

Here’s how it works: You create your "Metch"—either spontaneously for today or planned for later in the week. Locals nearby join in. Then, you just head out and do it.

The app features a feed showing what your fellow locals are up to, a map displaying everything happening in your immediate area, and a profile that doesn't brag about followers, but showcases the experiences you’ve actually earned out in the real world.

Whether it’s a golf buddy, tennis partner, padel crew, cooking night, or a night out partying—if your hobby isn't listed, you can simply create it yourself. Hiking, bouldering, yoga, gaming, photography—whatever it is.

METCHR has just launched in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Available for free on the App Store for iPhone.

## Version history (last 3 releases)

### 1.0.6 — 2026-09-08

New look for Metch and profile details. Clearer notifications: who, which Metch, when. Mute friends' new Metches separately in Settings. Sharing a Metch now includes time, headcount and description. Bug fixes.

### 1.0.4 — 2026-09-01

Chat keeps up now — messages show up while you're in the app,
without tapping the notification first. Unread chats put a dot on
the Social tab.

The feed stays fresh too. Come back to Metchr and the feed and map
update themselves, and reaching the end looks for anything created
while you were scrolling. Tap the Feed tab again to start over.

Plus: autocorrect works in chat, signing in is more reliable, and
we fixed a Metch that could hide behind the friends' activity card.
