### 5/5 — Powerful

*2022-09-19*

Another review on here complains that this app is too complicated; I’d say rather that it hides a lot of depth and power under a deceptively simple looking interface.
I dived in and started entering historical readings, then had to backtrack and think about what I was doing. I would suggest reading the user guide, then reading it again. Once you’ve got your head round how it works it will all make sense and you’ll be good to go.
At one point I emailed the author with a question and he got straight back to me, so if you’re really stuck help is at hand.

### 5/5 — Meter app

*2022-05-05, version 6.3.1*

Brilliant app used for many years.
Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — Brilliant App

*2022-03-27*

Helps me to monitor my usage daily. With this i I have been able to keep my usage very tight and no huge bills especially in the current climate. I have been able to compare my usage, letting my gas heating down to 17C at night and bring it back up to 21C in the morning and keeping my heating on 21C throughout the day & night. Use less gas keeping constant heating

### 5/5 — VERY Useful Tool for UK Energy Consumers

*2022-02-04*

I’ve been using this App since 2011, and it’s really useful in monitoring metered energy consumption - in my case Home electricity and gas.

This last few months it has become even more useful by displaying graphs showing our actual usage trends for gas and electricity and the effects of recent energy saving measures I’ve been taking (altering timers, tweaking thermostats, fitting low energy lights etc). It indicates that I’ve managed an approximately 30% reduction in energy consumption, and the inputting of unit rates, etc, allows me to see what my usage is costing.

I input meter reads usually weekly, have been doing so for years. This is a useful practical tool, and currently in the UK it is now a VERY useful tool to have.

### 5/5 — Avocado Grower keeps track of sub meter

*2022-01-17*

I started using thank you 🙏

### 5/5 — So simple, yet very powerful against supplier stupidity!

*2021-12-05*

I have used this app for years and since a recent move, it has been invaluable. The supplier industry is in a state of chaos, largely through its own fault. Any chances that they can use to rake back their losses by any means (foul or otherwise). In my case I was able to provide monthly readings, backed up by photos of my home, proving that it was their systems that were faulty and not a massive over-use by my household. For that alone, this app is well worth it.

If you have a metered service of nearly any kind, I would not hesitate to recommend this app.

### 5/5 — Export to Excel

*2021-11-26, version 6.2*

Have been using it for years and it marvellous. I now need to export to an excel spreadsheet to make a comparison between an old and new gas meter. Unfortunately user guide is not very helpful at all. All it says is “use the icon on bottom right” but I see nothing that relates to exporting a SCV file.

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2021-11-09, version 6.2*

There is not much more I can add, except read the reviews!
It’s brilliant and takes out the worry of collecting my house and business meters with paper and pen or photograph. Well done on a v useful app.

### 5/5 — Very useful

*2021-09-02*

This is an excellent app which I have been using for years. Recently I’ve opened an Airbnb with a separate meter and I’m using the app to calculate the monthly usage for tax purposes. You can set the app to calculate the usage costs with the percentage of the standing charges. Entering the monthly reading gives me the full cost to assign which is great. The app gives you a comparison with last year so you can see what the trends are, when to expect usage to jump (winter obviously, but months do surprise) and then to decide if you need to tweak thermostat settings.

### 5/5 — Still life in the old dog yet

*2021-04-02*

I’ve been using this app on and off for since July 2010 to record my gas & electric readings. Paid for the Pro/Power user add ons so am lucky enough to have them grandfathered in. Moved suppliers late last year so started using the app again to inputted my new readings and costs. So I have an idea of what Bill I’m expecting.

And the reason for the new review is that I found what I thought was a text/graphical error so emailed the dev and within 30 mins I had a reply and it is fixed - I had used a setting wrong. Definitely worth the money I spent all those years ago.

### 5/5 — Very useful and good app

*2021-03-11, version 6.1.2*

I have used this app for several years. Very useful to keep track of your el and gas usage.

### 5/5 — Great independent developer, great app

*2020-11-16, version 6.1.1*

This is a great example of an independently developed app that works really hard on a very specific problem (in this case, UK-centric Energy bill tracking) and does it excellently. The attention to detail on rates, conversion factors and so on is excellent. Thoroughly recommended and worth the small cost.

### 5/5 — Works like a charm

*2020-08-16*

After setting up my unit charges, fixed charges etc in electricity meter, this app provides a near accurate results of bill and expected bills. Here in India,Chandigarh, since ED is also applicable on units so I had to configure meter as R1+R2. And recently FPPCA charges based on units were discounted, I reconfirmed to R1+R2-R3. Just amazing , how nicely developer has thought of adding such options for configuration.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2020-05-11, version 6.0.2*

Changed energy supplier and no longer have the smart function. This app has just made everything so simple on costings with my energy supplier.

### 5/5 — Genius! Exceptionally helpful to check Meter Readings

*2020-04-22*

It’s very difficult to analyse trends in usage when you have meter readings taken at various times of the year and super unhelpful bills provided by suppliers.
I was delighted to simply type in my readings and dates and see a graph, then add the cost per KWh and daily standing charge to get my historical usage and predictions.
Congratulations to the developer. I found it super intuitive. A service to society. Thank you.
I will see if it’s possible to print the graphs later.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Stone Age App - Don’t Buy

*2024-04-26, version 6.4.5*

It gives the impression of having Smart Meter integration - totalling misleading. It provides nothing to enable Smart Meter integration. Manually entering dats id from the 1980s - maybe before!

### 1/5 — Rubbish & complicated to use!!!!

*2022-11-12, version 6.4.3*

I regret paying for this application but sometimes you have to learn the hard way and at a cost! I tried so many times but it’s too complicated to use unless you have a post graduate degree in nuclear fusion then don’t bother!! I am deleting at a loss! Lesson learned!!!

### 1/5 — Review:please sort this problem

*2019-06-07, version 5.5*

Useless!!

I can’t access any of the music I would like to have despite paying £9 plus a month by direct debit; also I cannot find ,to play, any of the music I though I had downloaded in the past. There is no help facility so I have absolutely no idea what to or where to go for resolution of what is a major problem and frustration for me
I have 4 Apple devices and can’t get music on any of them. I like Classical music in album form. So far I have spent over £70 and got nothing for my money.

Please sort this for me.

### 2/5 — Not Great

*2022-12-02, version 6.4.5*

Everything is In pounds not the actual pence amounts kWh and measurements for energy are and the decimal points are everywhere O things like price per kwh and standing charges don’t make sense. Would actually like a refund but don’t know how to do that. Have already deleted the app

### 3/5 — Rate settings

*2023-07-01, version 6.4.5*

Graphics and tables are great. Only issue is when you change the rates of unit costs or conversions it changes all the previous table values.

### 3/5 — A useful tool, please improve!

*2009-10-23*

Would be nice if a chart can be viewed in Landscape mode covering longer time frame. Please add a feature where utility consumption can be computed per unit, i.e. Water usage per rental unit. My meter reads in 6 digits! (and still omits 2 zeros) so I have to truncate readings in thousands! Would be nice to have 2 or 3 more digits to the wheel for larger readings!

### 4/5 — Nice app - rate changes should be included in base price

*2023-02-25*

I like the app so far, particularly the simplicity of setting up and dual rate economy 7 meters and entering the readings. Far better than other products where you have to setup separate meters and combine via a virtual meter.

I’m a bit disappointed that you need to purchase an upgrade to handle rate changes. In today’s climate frequent rate hikes are a fact of life along with the necessity for supplier changes. I believe this feature should be factored into the base price - it is not “power user” imho.

### 4/5 — Great app but needs cubic feet to kWh conversion for gas

*2018-09-30*

Have been searching for an app to help me work out the actual ongoing cost of my gas/electricity supplies for ages – and this looks like it’s the one!

Really simple to use (though a more engaging tutorial with pictures may help others, or even better, a ‘setup wizard’ which guides you through the process of setting it all up) and excellent, clear information with the ongoing cost of your usage available at the touch of a button, once you’ve entered in your price-per-kWh and daily standing charges – brilliant!

The only problem I’m having: my gas meter measures in cubic feet (ft3) and I give my meter readings to my energy supplier in cubic feet, but I am billed in kWh, meaning my supplier does the conversion for me when I submit my meter readings. Having a cubic feet meter but being billed in kWh does not appear to be supported by this app.

As a result, I either have to set my billing up as kWh and give readings in kWh (meaning I have to do a manual conversion of ft3 to kWh every time I enter a reading) or I have to set the billing up as ft3 and give me readings as ft3, therefore meaning the pricing it works out won’t be accurate.

Quite a few people have their gas meters as cubic feet, while most are billed in kWh, so I was disappointed this feature wasn’t included.

Is there any chance this can be added please?

Barring that, it’s a great app – it even gives you an instant comparison price as to how much you could save by switching elsewhere!

**Developer response:** That is what the conversion factor is for in the meter settings. See the user guide for a detailed description.

### 4/5 — Smart app, but needs redesign

*2018-04-02*

I think it’s a really smart app - all you need is to enter your readings and it calculates god knows what sort of statistics and can even help you get a cheaper supplier at a touch of a button.
But it’s too complicated. I don’t know what half of the functions do. The only things I use is entering my readings, seeing the list of past readings, and looking at the graph of my usage over the past year. The usage cost shown for my meters is inaccurate and most just show 0.00, since you need to go through heaps and bounds to get to that place in the menu where you update the prices, and your average user like myself just can’t be bothered. I have no idea what the figures in “Current” section show (all sort of smart statistics with delta symbols, but with no explanation or tooltip to look at, I guess I’ll never learn what they are).
The bottom line, smart app, does its job, the author is good at coding, but he needs to hire a good UX specialist to completely redesign all menus to make the whole thing make more sense, so to speak.

**Developer response:** The app can only show you the cost of your energy if you enter your rates. If you don't do this, then yes it will show £0.00 (hardly inaccurate). Current is simply the most recent period of time you have chosen (day, week, month ... etc), basically the right most point on the graph. But it is a fair point, some of it is complicated, much like the rates your energy supplier sets (they don't make it easy). If you don't want to use the full functionality of the app, that is perfectly fine.

### 4/5 — Great app

*2017-12-27, version 5.2*

Really useful for keeping track of what we’re using.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Used since 2010. Superb app.

*2025-05-04*

I have input solar panel, gas and electric generation results since Aug2010. It now holds (and easily exports to .CSV) thousands of my readings data accurately and without any degradation in performance whatsoever. This is the only app needed to monitor solar panel generation as well as my gas and electric usage. For recording meter data, and data comparison over the years look no further. Bravo Graham!

### 5/5 — Best energy usage tracker

*2025-01-17, version 6.5*

I’ve used this for 10 years, it is by far the best tracker for energy usage I’ve found and I’ve tried most.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2024-11-01, version 6.5*

Been using this app for years and find it so useful to monitor my energy use. Technical support is also excellent with a super fast response. Highly recommended 👍🏻

### 5/5 — This app has saved me £’s

*2024-05-27, version 6.4.5*

My energy supplier wanted £242 a month for electricity & gas . This app has helped me budget and keep track of what I’m spending on a daily/weekly/monthly basis . I spending under £100 a month now I don’t have the awful anxiety I did over switching the heating on as many people do in the UK now

### 5/5 — Useful

*2023-07-20, version 6.4.5*

Had this app years, has been really useful over the years but especially useful over the last couple years to monitor energy usage more closely and keep on top of things

### 5/5 — Impossible to contact you

*2023-02-10*

Love this App and have been using it since 2012 to monitor Electricity, Solar, Water and now Heat Pump. Graham - not sure if it is me but trying to contact you as you recommend just takes me around in a loop 😤 I have a question. Your App offers the facility to record two daily readings which I use for day and night rate electric. Now having a heatpump I have been recording power in and power out as Heatpumps use these data to measure efficiency (or lack of it 😄). Is there any way to show these two data lines on the same graph (not just the delta). This would give a easy to read visual picture of the heatpump efficiency (known as the COP). Many thanks.

**Developer response:** You can email me from the bottom of the support page. The app supports graphing each line separately or combined. I don’t support graphing the two lines together. You could use an R1-R2 meter type, that would show what you are after (I think).

### 5/5 — Awesome app. Saved me losing ££s

*2022-12-02, version 6.4.5*

If it wasn't for this app i wouldn't have noticed my faulty electric meter that would have cost me an extra £80 per month.
Well thought out and very useful. Not over complicated. Nice to see an app made with attention to the end user.

### 5/5 — Top rate app

*2022-11-19*

I looked at and tried out a dozen other apps before I found this one. Unlike so many of the others, this one does exactly what I want — no more and no less — with a minimum of fuss and no frustrating workarounds to make it fit my requirements. Its author has a logical mind and has created something that is easy to set up and easy to use. It is really useful if you live in the UK and want to keep close tabs on the costs of your energy consumption. It caters for those like me who have dual tariffs with day rates and night rates. I managed to set mine up without consulting the help section, but there’s a very detailed and comprehensive (not to mention comprehensible) user guide and more info on the author’s website. How nice to find such a useful and well put together app.

### 5/5 — Long term user

*2022-11-09, version 6.4.3*

Started in 2011 and has become a very useful app for tracking utilities including solar generation, and loads of other readings that need monitoring. Also, support is excellent with a response this morning, from Graham, only minutes after query was submitted! Bravo.

### 5/5 — Brilliant

*2022-10-18*

Used this app for years.
Gathered a lot of data now so I can easily compare my usage to previous years. It’s become a game to see consistent green bars on the graph, so I know I’m doing the right thing.
It has helped immensely to help me keep my usage at a comfortable minimum, therefore saving in the long run.
Highly recommended! 👍🏼
