They all keep telling me it’s resolved but it is still not working. Will be changing banks very soon. ### 1/5 — A QR code hasn’t come up and no useful contents to help *2023-05-23* The documents and contents about how to install the authentication app are so poor but if the app works correctly it doesn’t matter of the quality of the documents. Because usually we don’t read documents to down load any Apps. It must be so easy to start using apps. But this app is miserably poor! ### 1/5 — Only for business?? *2023-03-22* Metro bank doesn’t let personal account customers use 2FA we have to rely on the less secure (and recently compromised -Google Metro 2FA) of receiving a text message to authorise access to our accounts from an unknown browser/location/device. Why that is needed - I do not know. Most Authenticator programs like this do NOT need GPS location. Sorry, but this is just too big brother and creepy to use. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Underwhelming *2025-10-28* Changed phone, Authenticator asking for Ticket No or QR Code. Doesn't exist. 18 min call (be prepared - they have replaced menu options with AI - a real time waster) to be told I'll need to go in the Commercial Team call queue. Wait. What? That was the number I dialled. ### 1/5 — Terrible *2025-10-06* Enough to make you want to switch banks. So glitchy. Doesnt work half the time. Waste so much time trying to authorise payments. I’m moving my business banking elsewhere as i spend too much time trying to resolve app issues that prevent me from being able to pay new staff. ### 1/5 — Bad to worse *2024-08-20, version 1.3.0* Having to restart the phone for every authentication after one has been made ### 1/5 — Authenticator has to be restarted every time *2024-06-01* I use the Metro Bank App on my iPhone for authentication whenever I log into Online Banking on my desktop computer. After using it once it doesn’t reset and will fail to authenticate the next time I use it again. There is a “Log off” button but it doesn’t actually close the App. The only way to make it authenticate the next time is to restart the App. This is poor software design which hasn’t been fixed in any of the software updates. ### 1/5 — Shambolic *2024-01-31* One of the worse Authenticator apps I have used, to constantly keep downloading the app again in order to approve company payments is abysmal ### 1/5 — Fraudulent app? *2023-08-06* This app is apparently fraudulent and could impersonate Metrobank. This explains why all steps keep failing!
