I didn’t have a terrible experience the first time and all of the drivers have been good. But the prices are unreliable. I get that the prices are an estimate on the app, but you’re going the same way either way. I booked a taxi on my 4th time and it cancelled on its own. Good thing I saw it 2 minutes before I was due to expect it, because I had to rush from work to my appointment! And it’s a good thing my taxi driver came to me within 3 minutes. I also am not a fan of the fact that the meters just seem to skyrocket throughout the journey. I should not be paying £1 more than the estimate. Unfortunately, I do not think I’ll recommend this to anyone. At 6:43, a driver accepted a ride from the other side of Bolton, about 20 minutes away. Not acceptable. I was almost late to work due to this. ### 1/5 — Unfair Treatment & Lack of Transparency *2025-04-01, version 35.1.9* Unfair Treatment & Lack of Transparency I have been working with Metro for a considerable time, always conducting myself professionally and fulfilling my duties as a driver. However, my recent experience with them has been extremely disappointing. I was accused of wrongdoing without any proper evidence, and despite my attempts to clarify my position, I was not given the opportunity to present my side. This led to unfair actions being taken against me, affecting my livelihood and my ability to support my family. Additionally, after returning the company’s card machine as requested, I asked for a full record of my completed jobs with Metro in PDF format for my accountant and tax returns. Shockingly, they refused to provide my full job history, only offering records for the last three months and stating that any further details would be based on “word of mouth.” This lack of transparency and refusal to provide necessary financial records is unacceptable and potentially a breach of legal obligations. As a professional driver, I expected fairness and proper communication, but unfortunately, I was denied both. I strongly urge Metro to treat their drivers with respect, follow ethical practices, and ensure compliance with legal requirements when it comes to financial transparency. Obviously got issues on the app ### 1/5 — Sign up *2021-10-11, version 33.3.13* I tried many times sign up to open the account but app doesn’t work. ### 1/5 — Appears to be a great App, but..... *2019-12-27, version 32.0.2* Christmas Eve, used the app for the first time. “Cab, 3 mins away, estimated fare, £2.80.” So far so good. 10 minutes later, no sign of the cab. “Tracking” still showing 3 minutes, but status showing “completed” (or similar wording). Used the “call” button. Call handler arranged another cab, “5minutes.” It arrived in 5 minutes.👍 At destination, fare £4..50! Eh, what happened to £2.80? It was Christmas Eve, I was always going to give him £5 anyway. 26/12/19, used app again to book a cab for 8 people (minibus). Included full details in “Notes.” But, rang up 2 hours ahead of booking, just to make sure. Booking was shown as, for 4! Call handler updated booking manually. Driver was late. On the return leg home, on 27/12/19, used app again, “cab for 8 (minibus)” they sent a 7 seater. Driver said, “ booking was for 1 passenger!” But fair play, he took 8, in 2 runs for the quoted price. Not a great app or is it the service provider?
