### 2/5 — Changes are terrible

*2026-06-22*

The app used to be shopper m-friendly. Some recent changes have made it shopper-hostile. The system to show items in order by aisle is seriously messed up. Most items are just mixed up, in no order at all. And if the ability exists to give Door Dash and Instacart shoppers the EXACT location by showing “bay numbers”, make that available to all shoppers using the app as well.
Do better.

### 2/5 — List issues

*2026-05-30, version 94.3.0*

The list no longer sorts by aisle, which makes finding things while shopping much harder. Also, the list is still annoying to access on mobile, as you need to go through the cart to even access it.
It used to cleanly separate items by aisle, which made shopping much easier.

### 4/5 — EBT and signin

*2026-05-12, version 94.1.0*

App still does not accept my ebt pin. Unable to signin since downloading latest update.

### 3/5 — Useful but Sometimes Annoying

*2026-02-21*

It’s generally quick to enter shopping lists, but navigate away from your frequent items list for any reason and it resets to the beginning; you need to keep scrolling back to where you left off.

Item substitutions are hit-and-miss as to whether they’ll be remembered next time you shop.

Bugs occasionally get fixed only to have new ones appear. Unit test, guys!

### 2/5 — Bring back save to list functionality

*2026-01-10, version 89.2.0*

We used to love this app. We could easily scan bar codes of items we wanted to add to the list when we shop in store. That feature has disappeared from prior orders, home page suggestions and bar code scanning and now only appears if you search each item individually. Please fix this! It worked wonderfully for us before and now it’s just frustrating!

### 3/5 — My List

*2025-10-29, version 87.2.1*

My list is buried too deep in the latest revision. When in the store, the purpose of a list is to use it while shopping. It would have items all ready selected to purchase. So, it would make sense that it should be found on the apps opening screen. Consider this a request to make that happen.

### 2/5 — New ui needs improvement

*2025-10-25*

I like the new look but some things need changing asap. First thing is the cart should be down at the bottom. Why put it up at top where it’s harder to reach when this is a shopping app so the cart is one of the more go to spots. The other is it’s so hard to get to purchase history compared to previously. So it would be nice if you’d bring it somewhere to the front of the app. Last thing I just noticed is it would be nice if when scrolled down, the bottom buttons such as shop brings you to the top too

**Developer response:** Hi there! We thank you for your feedback. This will be share with the digital team for review. We also suggest you delete the app and re-install it If you continue to have the same issue, please call us at 1-800-576-4377 so we can troubleshoot your issue with our Digital Team. ### 1/5 — What is even the point

*2025-10-13, version 86.3.0*

Can’t even access my cart anymore, all it does is load. Easier to just use the browser at this point. So frustrating.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work anymore

*2025-09-18, version 86.1.0*

I used to be able to order groceries for pick up from here. Now when I add groceries to my cart, the cart page won’t load. I’ve deleted and reinstalled several times and it hasn’t helped.

### 1/5 — No longer works

*2025-09-10, version 85.2.0*

This app used to work a few weeks ago, but doesn’t anymore.

The search is an endless loop of nothing, and the front page won’t load images. If it’s because I’m using a VPN, then this app is useless to me, because my security comes first.

### 1/5 — Horrible Interface and Clunky

*2025-08-22*

Truly one of the worst apps I’ve ever used. Kroger can and should do better, but it seems like they simply don’t care because this has been going on for over a year since I moved and was forced to switch to Metro Market. Doesn’t matter what device I use, the app takes FOREVER to respond to every single touch. There is so much lag that the app lags every time you type a single letter when searching something up or even if my screen changes rotation to landscape momentarily. It makes it impossible to use.

Safeway has a significantly better app, I’m just forced to shop at this store because it’s the only place near me that’s affordable. Genuinely this app makes me hate ordering groceries and it makes me angry every single time I have to use it.

### 1/5 — Can’t login in today 25June2025 at 1315 CDT

*2025-06-25, version 83.3.0*

With latest update from today, can’t even login to my account even though I authenticated it & re-set the password.

### 1/5 — ?

*2025-05-24, version 82.2.0*

Can’t seem to update the app . I click update and nothing happens

### 1/5 — Used to Be Worth It — Now Just a Frustrating Gimmick

*2025-05-03*

I’m pretty tech-savvy, but navigating the Metro Market app just to use a simple coupon is a full-time job. The interface is clunky, unintuitive, and borderline insulting when it comes to actually “getting the best deals.” What should be a streamlined, value-driven experience feels more like a puzzle you’re not supposed to solve.

And the gas rewards? Don’t even get me started. Sure, you can redeem points for discounts at BP, but BP seems to have caught on. Their prices are often inflated compared to nearby stations—so your $0.10 “discount” disappears the moment you pull up. It’s basically a bait-and-switch wrapped in a loyalty program.

The final straw for me? The Friday points promo. It used to be 4x points—still annoying, but tolerable if you timed your shopping right. Now it’s just double points, which hardly moves the needle and definitely doesn’t justify the hassle. Whatever perceived value there was has slowly eroded to nothing.

Honestly, at this point, I might as well just do all my shopping at Costco. At least there, the deals are real, the value is obvious, and I don’t need an app to decode the fine print on a gallon of milk.

### 1/5 — Hard to use for occasional shopper

*2025-04-02*

Could not find a way to add nickname. In store when seeing deals that I want to use, it is time consuming and hard or seemingly impossible to use the app. Your store should value the time of the consumer and make it easy to access any deals seen while browsing. Do not force us. To wast time paging through the app to locate what we want to buy. Having the preview is fine for home bound folk who may have the time and motivation, but as a busy person. I am thinking of shopping elsewhere.

### 2/5 — Pick and save, metro market

*2025-03-12, version 80.0*

Why do I have to keep signing in every time I want to upload the coupons . From what I have heard a lot of people do NOT care for your new version of the ad ! I hate it!

### 1/5 — Can’t upload new app

*2025-03-03, version 75.2*

This is terrible! The elderly have no way to save if they don’t have access to a newer phone. The app won’t update

### 1/5 — Trash app from a clown company

*2025-02-07, version 79.0*

Would you like pick up or delivery or in store? Well however you prefer your groceries, metro market will make it absolutely obscenely difficult. Don’t believe me. Well see, I have a store that’s a mile away, I want to select pick up. That option is highlighted. Cool? Okay lets shop. We’re back in store! Well I must be stupid using all these apps all day and the only one struggling to even achieve the bare minimum and FAILING is metro market

### 1/5 — Sad I can no longer use this

*2025-01-30, version 75.2*

Disappointed I need iOS 16 or higher to use this. My old iPhone only goes up to 15.8 and I can’t get a higher version.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Can’t share app and lists as a family

*2026-08-20*

To make the app usable for a family, you have to be able to actively share lists in real time. And by share, I don’t mean text a laundry list of items, but jointly share the list in the app. You can’t do this currently with separate accounts (adding as a collaborator) so we used to just use the same log in on different devices. Now only one person can be logged in at a time on one device (from what we can tell). Probably a good safety feature, but please add list sharing, adding and editing features (really time in app) between multiple accounts OR allow a family account with multiple sign ins to approved devices. Every time there is an update, some really valuable part of the app breaks or gets removed causing a lot of frustration …aisles gone, barcode scanning broken, easy list adding. It’s become the norm. Please consider real life end users as part of your development and QC team…

### 1/5 — This app stinks

*2026-08-12, version 97.0.0*

Constantly logs you out. Useless!

### 1/5 — Lists Broken

*2026-06-16*

I used to be able to see the sales and coupons in the lists main screen but now it only shows up for some items. Also, I used to be able to see the item details even after an item was completed but that’s not available anymore. I see others have already mentioned that the aisle order is not working. I’m tired of dealing with app issues every time you make changes. Could you please do more extensive user testing before releasing changes?

### 1/5 — Lists Are Broken

*2026-05-26, version 94.2.0*

List are (and have been for a little while now) broken and unusable in the app. I cannot add things to existing lists on mobile. It still works to view if I create the list on a computer first, but that’s hardly helpful. Also, it no longer sorts your list by isle for the location you are at. Revert the app to where it was a year ago, far more functional.

### 1/5 — Garbage app won’t open QR codes

*2026-01-12, version 89.2.0*

For some reason the QR codes in the store open the pick and save website which wants me to install the pick and save app even though I’m in a metro market store. It constantly forgets my logins credentials as well. The whole digital coupon process is not intuitive, frustrating, and incredibly stupid. Going to be doing most of my shopping elsewhere purely because this app and digital coupon idea is so idiotic.

### 1/5 — This could be a useful app with changes

*2025-12-02*

The single feature this is good with this app is the list sorted by aisle which is handy when in store shopping. Unfortunately the default is selected item go to cart which then have to be moved to the list. Once in the list items can not be added or the in store codes when scanned need to have the user login even when already in the app. Also when selecting coupons they require adding the selecting item to the cart as they will not move to the list. This lack of shopper focus in the app frustrates me to the point of considering shopping elsewhere. One last item is poor stocking of diet coke when on sale. Multiple times I have tried to purchase this on sale and it was out of stock. This app used to work better without the multitude of recent changes. Considering reducing stress by not using the app or store.

### 1/5 — Using Lists Broken

*2025-11-22, version 88.1.0*

The latest update has made using the app to make a list nearly impossible. Please fix.

### 1/5 — You broke the list feature with the last update

*2025-11-18*

Whatever they did with the update broke my ability to scan an item at home and add it to the shopping list. The option isn’t even available unless I then search for the same item before the “add to list” button shows up. Quit trying to force me to use the order online and pickup feature…I’ll stop shopping there before I use that.

### 1/5 — Ensh**tification at its finest

*2025-11-03, version 87.3.0*

I don't normally bother to write app reviews, but Kroger/MM has really gone out of their way to ruin this app with their most recent "refresh", so I guess I'll go out of my way to write a review.

Starting with the in-app search function: Primary offense here is the insertion of a "featured" item, also known as a sponsored ad, at the top of your search results. You will have to scroll past not just this advertised item, but also some graphic banner that will lead you to some other collection of featured items, in order to find your search results. There's no possible occasion on which I search "spinach" but am excited to find (and am more likely to purchase) Olive Garden Signature Italian Dressing instead. I just want spinach. It's a stunningly user-hostile experience that seems to suggest, "Forget whatever stupid idea you had about what you want, buy what we tell you to." This might work better for something like clothing, electronics, or other consumer goods, where one brand of item could be considered roughly equivalent to another brand's, but flinging items that are vaguely tangential to what I'm looking for is like showing me a backpack when I'm shopping for a raincoat. They're both wearable, technically, so thanks for that?

Now, building your shopping cart or list from your searched items: First of all, the "Ways to shop" selectable at the top of the screen is apparently meaningless; if you select in-store, the main part of the shopping interface is focused on adding to a pickup order cart. The "Save to list" button is now much smaller and bumped into the upper right corner of the "box" with your chosen item. Once you've clicked "Save to list," you can't change the quantity or remove the item without clicking into the list. Accessing the list outside of this interface, by the way, is now hidden by another 2 or 3 clicks.

All in all, it's a surprisingly frustrating and hostile experience that has me going back to using a paper and pencil list. The coupons aren't worth the exasperation of using this app. I could understand--but not appreciate--an argument that trying to push users toward shopping pickup vs in store is a money-maker for Kroger. When shopping pickup the prices for individual items tend to be higher, you have to pay some additional fees, in one way or another you're forking over more money. But man, weighing the convenience of pickup vs the higher cost AND adding on the inconvenience of using this app seems like a losing play.

### 1/5 — Terrible List ‘Feature’

*2025-10-26, version 87.2.1*

The recent updates have made the app even more clunky. I’m the type of person who makes a list before I go to the store. It’s next to impossible to find the shopping list within the app. Seems they want everyone to use the ‘cart’ and order for delivery. And adding something to your list from a previous visit? Forget it.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Well done with the update

*2025-11-06*

The most recent update improved it so much, you listened and moved the cart to the bottom which is so much better and also now when you tap on your profile, the purchase history is right there. Now hopefully the jitters can be fixed when scrolling very quickly left to right and up and down the page

**Developer response:** Hi there! We thank you for your feedback. This will be share with the digital team for review. ### 5/5 — Metro Market

*2021-12-23, version 41.1*

LETS GO METRO! LETS GO! 👏👏👏

### 5/5 — Outstanding customer service

*2021-11-20*

I’ve been picking up my groceries since Covid began in 2019…your pickup crew is so Cusomer Serivce oriented and friendly, I actually look forward to seeing them…Whatever you are doing as a company shows in the crew you’ve assembled…GREAT work Metro Mart…

### 5/5 — Useless.

*2021-11-19*

I called customer service to get a coupon that I didn’t get credit for. After 55 MINUTES, the lady in customer service said they did not ever have that coupon.

I asked her if she was saying that I did not actually have the coupon in my hands that I had read to her FOUR TIMES.

She said nothing, other than I’m sorry, MA’AM.

I then asked her if she thought I was a woman, and she said no, I was clearly a man.

I asked her if I could speak to a supervisor because she clearly couldn’t resolve my issue.

She did not answer me, but put me on hold for TWENTY FIVE MORE MINUTES, then hung up on me.

I wasted 1 hour, 19 minutes and 37 seconds of my life, according to my cellphone.

After about fifteen minutes, I didn’t care about the coupon; I wanted to see if her evasiveness was on purpose or not.

I guess I got my answer.

DO NOT EVER WASTE YOUR TIME ON THE PHONE WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE; go to the desk in the store.

### 5/5 — Where have I been

*2021-09-06, version 37.4*

I know I’m way behind times with grocery pick up but this app is so easy and grocery pick up is my new favorite thing.

### 5/5 — Great Service!

*2021-08-23, version 37.2*

This is a great way to get groceries that you use frequently, easy to order, easy to pickup and fast… Plus always great service with a great smile!
