I wish there was another option. ### 1/5 — Not helpful when needed *2025-02-12, version 4.0.2* Bus’ are always late and it keeps logging my card off - card was stolen and wanted to check if it had been used - was logged out - need card number to log back in 👍 ### 1/5 — Metro is laughably unreliable and inefficient! *2025-02-11, version 4.0.2* This has to be the worst bus service for a capital city in Australia! Not only do the buses NEVER arrive when the sign at the bus stop says they will. Now they’ve introduced a bus tracker to the app that is supposed to track the bus live, therefore giving an accurate timeline for arrival. Despite launching years after ever other city in Australia it’s still completely inaccurate and utterly pointless as it gets the ETA way off! The app is clunky and represents something from the early 2000s. And somehow in 2025 it takes up to 2 business days to upload money onto my green card! I could do a international transfer quicker! And get this to top up on the bus still required physical cash! It’s embarrassing! Multiple times I’ve left at the time specified by the app only to find when I get to the bus stop that the schedule there is completely different and the bus shows up by the stop schedule and not by the app. What’s the point of having plan your trip when the time is completely off. Regardless of what you put into trip planner, it defaults to Tasmanian Transport Museum. It won‘t allow a new destination to be entered, the timetables are out of whack and unnavigable. Bring back the old version or at least go back to paper timetables. Thanks MetroTas ### 4/5 — I feel positive about this new app *2024-09-07, version 3.0.3* I am using iPhone13 and I am pretty happy about new app. The new UI looks much better than the previous version, and I think it's well-designed. I particularly like the tech stack used, especially how bus stops are displayed based on the viewport. However, there are a few areas that could be improved: 1. UX Improvements: When I click on a bus stop, the upcoming trips modal covers the map, and there's no easy way to minimize it. Currently, it only minimizes if I click the full-size icon on the map, which is placed just below the app header. This is inconvenient, especially when using my right hand, as I have to stretch to reach it. It's also not intuitive what the icon does. I suggest adding a down arrow icon next to the modal header to make it easier to minimize. 2. Favorites Page: Unlike other pages, the Favorites page no have a "go back" icon, and you can only return by clicking "Cancel." It would be better to include a back icon for consistency. 3. Map Performance: Zooming in and out on the map causes lag in rendering, which affects the overall experience. While the app’s timetable seems accurate, buses often don't arrive on time or sometimes don’t come at all without any notification. This isn't directly related to the app, but I hope real-time bus updates are added soon so I don't have to wait for buses that aren't coming. Also, consider updating the App Store image, as it still shows the old design. Lastly, I’m curious if it’s difficult to implement instant balance updates when recharging a bus card. It would be great if the recharge applied immediately or takes one business day ### 4/5 — Great app. Needs alarms *2019-08-19, version 2.4.1* It’s a great app. But it needs the ability to set an alarm for the time to leave. The main issue is the data is clearly not real-time but just reflects the scheduled time. I have waited several times for a bus that doesn’t come; when I update the trip planner it tells me the next bus is half an hour away; I start walking and then the (late) original bus passes me. Really stuffs up trip planning. The only other gripe is very minor - I want my saved trips to default to ‘now’ but seem to have to manually select that each time I try to refresh. And to select ‘now’ requires me to scroll off the current time to make the ‘now’ button active. ### 3/5 — GPS tracking would make this 5 star *2019-05-26* This morning as I was walking to the bus stop I saw a bus fly past and I was left wondering “Was that my bus or the school bus? Will I now be waiting 40 minutes for my next bus?”. Also, there have been times where I’ve waited 20 minutes in the cold for a late bus. Both of these problems would be alleviated if you could track where your bus was right now. Please make it happen Metro!
