I first came to it when the Palm i705 came out; this app been every single mobile device I’ve had. I Always forget to donate to the developer, My Bad. Best of all: as as you download your appropriate maps to this app, you won’t need internet, map files are usually less than half an mp3 file. Four stars on account of the GPS feature never working and that it is difficult to find in apps stores across all platforms, even when through their website. I'm in dozens of different cities every year, and metro allows me to travel like a Local. I've tried a number of different apps, as well as services built into the mapping apps on my phone, but nothing beats MetrO. ### 5/5 — Google for public transport *2016-12-31, version 1.1.2* MetrO has been about since the Palm V and has been an essential app for any traveller looking to navigate a major city's public transport system. It hasn't been updated in a while but has a great community supporting updates on a weekly basis. The interview is a bit clunky but the data is second-to-none. ### 5/5 — MetrO the BEST... *2016-10-22, version 1.1.2* As simple as had stayed I have benn using MetrO way back on the PALM TREO and then from my first BLACKBERRY all the way up to my current iPhone 6.... Currently in Buenos Aires, I decided NOT to rent a car, as all my visits were within 4 miles from my AirBB apartment... and having a "Subte" outside my street door I downloaded my iOS copy of the old faithfull MetrO... and it took me back 12 years to my days in Paris.... Keep it SIMPLE as it is... no need for maps or graphics... simply from poin A to point B with the little steps and all.... The city's metro system goes almost everywhere in the city. This app made using the Paris metro a snap. I used this in 4 cities in Europe and I am really glad I had this. Sure, maybe there are some stops missing from here but still, if you don't have an internet connection or you want to save data while traveling, this app is for you. Tip: you need to know the stop name in order to make use of this (unless the stop is a landmark). What is with that? It's also missing most of the muni system, and it's not as useful as before because it refused to open when I was not online, so I couldn't use it! Please fix as soon as you can! ### 5/5 — Its the Best .. *2015-07-13, version 1.0.2* Its the Best .. ### 3/5 — Very strange map for Montreal *2015-03-31, version 1.0.1* Instead of address write Pierrefonds (I live there and it is not an address it is a pretty big neighborhood) to Peel, Sherbrooke (it means intersection) it say right - use train, but then it say use 2 buses - there just 10 minutes walk. Should be improved. As it is free - 3 stars. Maybe for other cities it is more useful than this, but for mine it is useless. ### 3/5 — Improve on some databases and get 5 stars *2015-01-19, version 1.0.1* I wish the San Francisco database included the entire AC transit, SamTrans, County Connections, VTA, Muni, and Shuttle services! I've forgot for how many years and all the destinations in which this simple app saved my life! However, the maps have not been updated this 2024. ### 1/5 — Awful *2017-08-28, version 1.1.2* Just give me a map. I don't want to enter in addresses. I want a map to actually see the system. I've been trying to plan a route between Seattle Airport and down town and the app keeps giving me an error message that the starting point, the airport, is closed. Ummm... might want to tell that to the 10 planes that have landed since I started trying to use this app. Removing it from my phone as soon as I send this review. ### 1/5 — Terrible interface *2014-06-04, version 1.0.1* Trying to use it to plan a trip from the airport to my hotel. Except I have absolutely no idea how to find the airport as a starting point in this app. I typed in every variation of "airport", and it's name I could think of, but It just doesn't exist in his app. I could also try selecting it on a map ... Except there is no map. In a new city, wanting to go from point A to point B, I'd like to know that I should take the XYZ line to point ABC and then transfer to the DEF line until I get to point FGH, where I transfer...etc. Please provide instructions so that travel challenged people like myself can use the App. The concept of the App is wonderful. The instructions not so much. Most Apps are intuitive.
