As a business owner, we are here to make money. Majority of the payouts for large loads and long routes are not profitable as a driver. I could understand these low payments if I was driving a van by what ever company I was delivering for along with gas on them. Commercial insurance, van payment, wear and tear on the vehicle are not cheap. When I think about what to do, another driver applied and I too. The dispatcher gave a job for another driver ignoring my request. I had to jobs, and both were taken from me for no reason. Just today, a dispatcher called me about a job that was available. I took the job. I drove all the way down to the pick up location just to find out they gave the job to someone else. I contacted dispatch to find out what happen, no one responded. All of the representatives are terrible and rarely respond when needed. Store owners are also frustrated with them and their routes are terrible and the pay is sometimes not even minimum wage for using your own car, gas and time. They also say they pay wait time but they don’t and factor in 30 minutes to the time you are being paid for which several smoothie king orders equaled $10-12/hour for 30+ miles! Absolutely atrocious and they barely get any customer orders. Maybe one or two every few days.
