### 4/5 — Pacing for runners

*2020-09-29, version 1.6*

This App is helpful for maintaining a constant pace while running outside.

### 4/5 — Great

*2020-05-14, version 1.6*

Great. My only complain is the red stop button. Red means record, always trips me... should be black.
Thx

### 4/5 — Nice Little app!

*2020-02-12, version 1.6*

No bells and whistles, just a digitized version of an old fashioned metronome. My only ‘complaint’ is when when you turn the volume up hear the max the difference between the downbeat and upbeat becomes negligible.

### 4/5 — Works nicely

*2018-12-27, version 1.6*

And no annoying advertising

### 4/5 — Great app

*2018-12-21, version 1.6*

I like the flexibility of the app to change the time signature. I gave it 4 stars because the downbeat auditory cue is only a little louder than the other beats. I would like a greater differentiation of the auditory cue for the downbeat. An option for a verbal count (one, two, three, four, etc.) would be nice for someone like me who is counting challenged.

### 4/5 — Basic metronome - does what it should

*2016-03-16, version 1.5*

As an instrumentalist and choral singer, this app assists me during home practice sessions. Nice features include the ability to turn the downbeat emphasis on or off, a visual display that can be used with no sound, and different tones for the click. I love the "tap here" feature - this helps me to pin down the actual tempo my director is using, which is helpful later during practice. I'd give it 5 stars if it included choices for verbal time directions ("presto", "andante", etc. ) and it would be a bonus if it included a tuner as well. But as it is - I use it frequently and it does what it needs to do! Great choice for a useful free app!

### 4/5 — No pro

*2015-01-06*

Works well I use it all of the time one thing though in 6/8 I think the emphasis should be on the beats 1and 4 rather than the first note in the bar similarly in 9/8 and 12/8.

### 4/5 — This is for us drummers

*2014-03-19, version 1.5*

Do it! It even remembers what tempos you are working on. I would like a few more options in terms of the clicks but the 5 they have are fine

### 5/5 — Simple & straight forward

*2013-10-07*

A good, straight forward, simple to use metronome. The visual is great and the sound choice worked for my 8 year old who was hating the sound on the built in metronome on the keyboard. Thank you.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2013-10-05*

It does as it says! Thanks. Sound is fine!

### 5/5 — I love this metronome - I grew up using a wooden Franz

*2013-08-31, version 1.5*

This thing is perfect. End of story; he's my little buddy that loves Miles Davis and Frank Zappa - he's always focused; we have a great time together playing the masters songbooks

### 4/5 — Easy to use

*2013-07-21, version 1.5*

Works well, easy to use for kids' violin practice. Though it displayed a metronome ticking back and forth, but it does not. If it did, that would be five stars!

### 5/5 — Easy to use and very flexible.

*2013-06-19, version 1.5*

Multiple sounds, different time signatures (including _no_ time signature when you want a steady beat without emphasis), self-evident controls, and the ability to save multiple tempos as "presets" make this an excellent tool.

### 5/5 — Best metronome app

*2013-06-06, version 1.5*

This is one of the only ones that allows you to turn off any time signatures, and simple look and feel is the best.

### 4/5 — Very useful

*2013-05-28, version 1.5*

Works very well. Good use of the sweeping bar visual. Only complaint: buttons and controls are too small so I end up missing them all the time. The iPad is big enough and there's plenty of empty space to make the buttons bigger.

### 5/5 — Worth it!

*2013-04-07, version 1.5*

Very easy to use. I use it mostly when I travel. Click is loud and I even have a choice of clicks. Slider bar is very helpful. Worth the money.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Tempo slider disappeared!

*2015-06-01, version 1.5*

It used to work fine until I upgraded to iOS 8. Now the tempo slider seems to have disappeared! I tried deleting this, then reinstalling, but it still didn't show up. That was a very convenient feature, as I am always changing tempo when I practice, increasing as I go. (I play mandolin). Now I have to find another metronome....

### 1/5 — Nasty sound

*2012-11-30*

The tick sounds are so horrible this is unusable.

### 1/5 — Horrid Sounds

*2012-06-26*

Would be great if not for incredibly bad and grating beat sounds. So annoying that I can't understand why anyone would think this was good

### 1/5 — hideous sounds

*2012-04-19*

The sounds for this are HORRIBLE!...A,B & C sound like someone whacking a chair with a stick or the kind of sound a tennis racket makes when scraping a gravel court. Sounds D & E sound like a cross between some sort of alien radar (not that I've ever heard one in the flesh!) and a vintage Atari tennis game. A waste of 69p.

### 1/5 — Not great

*2012-02-29*

Volume set at full is not loud enough to hear over instrument. No option to change the click sound other than 'low' or 'high'. We bought it because the free app we had did not have 6/8 time, but other than this problem the free app was much better!

### 1/5 — Annoying

*2012-01-02*

It's hard to play music with because the sounds keep changing. It's a really annoying sound to be honest.

### 2/5 — Great when it works

*2016-10-19, version 1.5*

This is a simple app that is easy to use and you can save tempos as presets so you can both have quick access to a favorite tempo and track your progress as you practice over time. I gave it a low rating because, mine stopped working on my iPad about two months ago and I've been unable to reach anyone for tech support. If you get it, it might work or it might not.

### 2/5 — Where's the slide gone

*2015-07-30*

This used to be a great metronome but now that the slide disappeared in the last update and the plus/minus buttons are hit and miss, it's just too hard to use.

### 3/5 — does what it is meant to do almost

*2014-03-14*

reliable, in time. Easy to tap in beat.

Only thing I would like is the option to have a different sound rather than an accent on the first note each beat so

beep dip dip dip instead of DIP dip dip dip

The accent only works if you have a speaker connected to iphone, but is ok on ipad

### 3/5 — Not terrible. Just okay.

*2011-12-30, version 1.1*

Works well enough for a free metronome. Sound is not loud enough though and the visual indicator is not all that useful. At least the interface is simple and there are no ads which is a plus. Tempo presets are also not very common in free metronomes so that's a nice touch too.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Great App

*2019-01-15, version 1.6*

The app is great-easy to understand and user friendly.

### 5/5 — Best EDM ever!

*2018-12-30, version 1.6*

Seriously, though, I like it. Simple and to the point. It overlays with the music so I can figure out just what the beat is on favorite songs.

### 5/5 — Exactly what I needed

*2018-07-05, version 1.6*

It’s a metronome that works. It has multiple tones as well as variable speeds and time signatures.

### 5/5 — Very helpful

*2017-04-21, version 1.6*

Easy to use and record a click track without learning midi in my recording program

### 5/5 — Great app

*2017-03-14*

Really handy - does all I want it to!

### 5/5 — Practical

*2017-01-15, version 1.6*

Simple, easy to use but flexible. I like that you can set the rate by tapping- to set it to a song you are learning, turn on the song tap your foot, then add your thumb to tap the beat into the app. Neat!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2014-07-29*

Simple to use and lots of options it's cool

### 5/5 — Love it

*2014-07-14, version 1.5*

I'm learning to play the ukulele. I have had very little musical training and needed some help with keeping the best. This is a great app. It is flexible and simple to use. It is really helping my practice sessions. Highly recommend.

### 5/5 — Very basic and easy to use.

*2014-04-27, version 1.5*

This app is very good. Although basic, this is exactly what 90% of all people need, basic, simple, and easy to use. As a former musician, this app is perfect for young musicians and dancers who need to practice rhythm. I highly recommend it if this is what you need.

### 5/5 — SImple, reliable

*2014-03-06, version 1.5*

My 10 year old son uses it when he plays the piano. He's going to use it right away, and has never had a problem.
