Where’s the ability to add your membership card to Apple wallet? Or manage your account information? How about making a reservation for the Met Lounge? For those of us who are actually looking to use the museum, this has nothing to offer. Just head to the museum and enjoy. Leave the phone in your pocket and this app in the App Store. They thought to provide hotel search functions, maps of unrelated cities, and generic tourist info for NYC, but the app (which is supposedly dedicated to the Met Museum) lacks properly-labeled maps of the actual museum! Forget the luxuries of real-time tracking or locations of temporary exhibitions, this app lacks even the most rudimentary map details. No wing identification, no room numbers, not even a differentiation between floors! Just a schematic of the walls on the main floor. To have any hope of navigating the beautiful and expansive museum with intent, you’ll have to use a paper map, costing the museum money and creating needless waste. But hey, the app includes city maps of Chicago and Los Angeles for some reason, so I guess that makes it all ok in the end. ### 1/5 — Great museum. It’s completely useless for visiting the museum. It has an architectural floor plan but has no labels for what displays are on which floors. All it has is a bunch of links to tours to buy outside the museum- bus tours etc. it has nothing to do with the museum. ### 1/5 — Confusing *2026-08-08, version 1.24* This appears to be a NYC tourism app that is exploiting the Met's reputation to book hotel rooms. Besides having beautiful clothes, the concept of long ago gowns being inspiration for designers was brilliant. Unfortunately wasn’t able previously to get into the Jacob Lawrence exhibit. So sorry to have missed it. Tip: The Met’s information about ordering entry tickets should mention that the coat checks are closed. Not pleasant to carry big umbrellas or totes around unnecessarily. ### 5/5 — Great guide! *2019-04-13* I’ve been to the MET several times now and this travel guide has always been very helpful. The list of paintings was definitely a must see for my first visit. I even bought a helicopter tour to NYC from the app at it was breathtaking.
