## What is Metropoly?

Metropoly is a polyrhythmic metronome that turns polyrhythms into something you can see and feel. It helps you develop an intuition for complex rhythms by visualizing them in a way that makes their structure obvious at a glance.

BUILD A POLYRHYTHM

- Up to six rhythms, each with its own beat count, all lining back up every cycle.
- Every rhythm gets its own configurable color and sound, so the parts stay separable by eye and ear.
- If preferred, add a count-in of one full cycle of the first rhythm, so you know where the loop starts before it starts.

EXPORT THE LOOP AS VIDEO

- Render the current polyrhythm to a square video at 1080p or 4K.
- Choose a gray, black, white, or transparent background that drops straight into your edit.
- Loop it 1 to 64 times, with or without audio. Loops are frame and sample accurate, so they cut together seamlessly.
- Rendering carries on while you use another app, and tells you when it is finished.

PRESETS

- Save any configuration as a named preset and load it back instantly.
- The app reopens on the polyrhythm you were last working on.

THEMES

- Three light themes and three dark themes, following the system appearance or pinned to one.
- Separately configure the background color of the polygon view.

ABOUT THE DEVELOPER

Made by Thijmen Dam, an indie developer and musician building small, focused tools with care. Metropoly started as a way to practice polyrhythms, and grew into something I actually enjoy opening every day. Thanks for giving it a spin (literally!). It means a lot to me. - A new "animation" setting lets you switch how the traveling dots move: "eased" (speeding up into each beat) or "linear" (constant speed throughout). Exported videos match whichever style is selected.

- Video rendering is now roughly 10-15x faster.

- Rhythm detail view: the pitch picker no longer overflows past the card's right margin on standard-width iPhones.
- Rhythm detail view: the pitch picker now right-aligns flush with the beats, color, and volume rows instead of falling short of the right edge.
- Starting or stopping playback no longer risks a brief freeze of the app.
