Exiting or entering HWY is a must and specially in Sydney with new M8, M6 etc.. is a mess and confusing. Also Sydney airport. Edit review : just used carplay and there is no option for HOME OR WORK button lol. That's most important on carplay 🤦‍♂️ ### 4/5 — One of the best but some issues *2024-11-26, version 3.1.132* Can’t find a better app especially at that price but some minor issues. (1) At random times for no apparent reason the voice announces “trip error” and the route you’re navigating disappears from the screen. (2) Changes to roads and speed limits take a long time to appear on map updates. Eg. a new housing subdivision with new streets still not showing up after more than a year despite a number of updates. (3) Sometimes directs you to minor gravel roads when more convenient main roads are available ### 4/5 — Options *2024-09-05, version 3.1.129* Love your app but the only thing I have a issue with is there are no options for alternative routes as apple maps have, would to have this option in your app ### 4/5 — Better than expected *2024-07-21, version 3.1.124* I’ve been using this app for a little over two months now, and I must say when I first opened it I thought the interface was going to be a bit clunky! But, after the first week its turned out to be quite intuitive and very handy. It’s now my goto app for street navigation. Some of the most useful functions are the advanced voice notifications for the “Speed Zone Changes”, especially school zones. You also have the ability to tap the speed sign in the bottom left corner of the screen, to change your map view to display your current speed in large digital format. When you exceed the speed limit the numerals change from white to red. The map sizing is also intuitive. As you speed up the map zooms out, showing more roads, and as you slow down the map automatically zooms in. Very logical and helpful. There is only one issue I have with the app which is probably only relevant to use on an iPad. I have a Gen9 iPad which I use in landscape format. Some may say an iPad is way to big, but it works amazingly well, especially when connected simultaneously as the monitor to a rear view camera. To do this, the navigation app needs the ability to do “Split Screen View” allowing two apps to run side by side simultaneously. Unfortunately Metroview doesn’t have this capability at present. I use a rear view camera when towing my boat or car trailer for improved safety and vision, especially when changing lanes. To do this, I have to revert back to using Google Maps or Apple Maps, which is a shame because “Metroview” ticks all the boxes except “ Split Screen View”. So to the app designers, can you please incorporate “ Split Screen View” to your next upgrade. It’s the only thing missing. I have only given 4 stars because as a subscription based app, I can only use it when not towing which is about 70% of usage. Very pleased with the app though. ### 4/5 — 3 star for me because *2024-04-09, version 3.1.122* Thanks for the reply and yes I found it. One more thing I noticed and done everything to see if it fixes it but nope it’s a bug. It’s when I search with voice a address or anything else it says > No internet connection. Could you look into it please via CarPlay. I haven’t tried on my iPhone but might be the same. ### 5/5 — Save your licence, livelihood & life *2023-11-15, version 3.1.99* This app has a comprehensive database of speed limits, included timed school zones. Set the alert for 3km/h over the speed limit and it is easy to drive within speed limits. This app works in the background with Carplay so you can still receive speed alerts while using another navigation app. Road safety research has repeatedly confirmed that half of the serious crashes involving a vehicle travelling at 5 to 10km/h over the speed limit would not have occured if that vehicle had been within the speed limit. ### 5/5 — In my view, it’s the best app *2023-10-14, version 3.1.99* It’s the best app ### 3/5 — Update your speed limit *2023-06-24, version 3.1.97* I love this app. We have it for a long time now but guys you need to update your app. We are located in South Australia and your speed limits in some road aren't up to date. You need to check it out. ### 4/5 — Overall good app *2023-04-30, version 3.1.95* overall the mapping software seems to work fine, speed alerts and display arer a handy touch, would like to be able to plan and save a custom route with more than one waypoint as it tends to divert back to point to point which will get you out of trouble but makes planning a trip difficult. ### 5/5 — Location always on ??!! *2023-03-03, version 3.1.95* Have used MetroView for many years. Always happy with it. Latest edition now won’t function unless you set location services to Always On. Previous versions only needed it to be on when using the app. Regrettably I’ll be switching to HereWeGo or similar. (2 stars awarded before update below) UPDATE 3/3/23: Just received a helpful message from MetroView developer team on how to overcome this issue. Haven’t tried it yet but the suggestion looks solid. This makes it hard to plan or anticipate the next turns or lanes. Especially when negotiating CBD addresses.
